Man I really wish Houston would get an NHL team. Going to hockey games is awesome. -
Whats going on with the MLB team is reality. Its nice that they think we have a good system, we had a good system a few years ago too and if that has proven anything its that there is a very real chance that none of these guys become anything. That's why there is so much doom and gloom, we have lived this scenario once already recently so its not like we can just bank that in a few years all these guys will come up and we will be winning 90+ games. Again though, I will say the reshape of the farm system so far has been a major bright spot in an otherwise dark time for this franchise.

I don't understand how he keeps claiming its just a baseball team who cares but is continually shaming any poster that has a problem with their favorite team being the worst team in baseball. How about take your own advice, not care, and go away?
-
With the reality that they can't pick any better than 10th overall in the 2025 draft, there really is no incentive to just be straight awful. They might as well try whatever they can to extract as much value as they can from the roster this season. Hopefully, Pham can come in and provide SOMETHING that can help this team in the future.

I am hoping that Fedde can stay somewhere between 4.00 - 4.30 and eat innings with good K numbers. If so, I think we can definitely get something interesting. What I really want to see is Kopech and Wilson continue to look dominant out of the pen because they could have some real value come deadline time. Other than those 3, this team has nothing of value to trade as of today which is a real shame.

The Sox, right now, might be the worst team in baseball. In 3 years they may be the best team in baseball, or they may still be the worst team. The difference is we KNOW they are terrible right now, and a 28 year old 1 - 1.5 WAR player does nothing for the current team. If Eder puts it together and becomes something, that's a win. If he doesn't, it was still worth it given the state of the franchise and what needs to happen to have any chance to be good again.

I agree, it does seem reasonable for the innings workload. Not sure I agree with letting him throw 90 pitches and going into the 6th inning right out of the gate though. Just doesn't seem wise, especially with this season already toast.
-
I would rather see what this kid can do than Flexen or Soroka so im all for it.
-
There's just a little bit of a difference between an MLB starter and a reliever trying to transition to a starter who hasn't come anywhere close to those game workloads in many years.

ST counts for getting people ready to play a 162 game season, not to watch 4 starts against future insurance salesman and say “yep he’s ready” They shockingly made the right decision anyways so I’m not going to argue with you about it.
-
I don’t get the Burger love affair. He’s exactly what you said above, and would have zero impact on the next good Sox team. Actually I take that back, because we got Eder for him so it’s possible he will have impacted the next good Sox team.
-
ST doesn’t mean s%*#. Look at Soroka.
-
I mean you can’t really pick and choose which advanced stats count but like I said it was time to move on. Either way, we didn’t get anything worth a s%*# in return was the main point.
-
Of course you’re right. Bummer is a useful bullpen piece and we got a handful of trash in return for him. It’s whatever, it was time to move on anyways but we didn’t get s%*# for Bummer.

Remember guys, JR couldn’t afford to waste a year. -
Who will be the 2024 White Sox All-Star Representative?
T R U replied to KipWellsFan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Crochet if he keeps it up, however, I expect he is going to come down a bit. My second option would be Kopech. I think hes going to be the primary go to for saves and as long as he keeps coming out throwing 100+ MPH and striking everyone out hell be the next attractive option from this team. -
Gavin Sheets sucks, but as its already been said hes not blocking anyone or preventing anything so let him ride his hot streak and then we can all complain about how much run hes getting as the #3 hitter based off a week long streak at the start of the season.
-
No I didn’t, only saw Kwan Gimenez and Ramirez all reach.
-
Has this guy even got a lefty out this year? I feel like every time I see him he lets the lefty get on then he’s stuck facing righties getting hammered.
-
lol I’m just laughing that the same day Grifol says he’s playing hurt but toughing it out he literally gets hurt.
-
Hard pass on Soroka. He has a 6.06 FIP and can't strike anyone out. You absolutely hope he can get hot and flip him for something interesting.
-
I don't understand what you don't understand. There is an expiration date for his usefulness this season. Why would someone trade for him at the end of July if he is about to have to get shut down for the year? However, if he pitches his 100 innings or whatever this year and looks good all year, he becomes much more attractive for next season when its reasonable to expect him to get in the 150 IP range and not be shut down early. That makes him more valuable than right now. Does that make more sense?
