  1. I have never really liked the Red Hot Chili Peppers.. they got a couple songs that I listen to, but as an overall im not really a big fan.. I am way into Avenged Sevenfold, its about the only thing I listen to and im not kidding.. my entire ipod is all A7X and most CD's I make are 80% A7X.. I have been listening to the same A7X CD in my car for like 5 months now I dont think I will ever get tired of them.. I love their stuff so much

    QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 12:35 AM) facebook > myspace easily and it's easier to creep on underage girls Exactly, with Facebook I know what every girl is doing and when they are doing it.. muwhahaha.. I even keep tabs on wite round the clock I really only use myspace so I can see who sends me messages/friend requests.. other than that, im not a big fan of it
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 02:38 AM) You must have found it on Answers.com as well. I was just about to edit my post. Why yes I did find it there.. took me about half an hour to put in the right words in the search to get it though
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 02:35 AM) O Fortuna? I finally found it, it was fifth movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 9
  5. Im havin some trouble finding this, but does anyone know the name of the song that was Triple H's entrance theme in 1996? It was a classical piece, not the soft one but the faster upbeat one..
  6. If the Celtics were smart they would trade Pierce and just rebuild.. Fire Ainge too
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) He called out a couple of kids who decommitted from Notre Dame. Yet at the same time he had no problem recruiting kids who were committed to other schools. Eh, happens all the time. I doubt this is going to cause any major problems.
  8. Garland per usual Buehrle is toast, hopefully he pitches decent enough this year and then leaves at the end of the year
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 08:46 PM) Are you guys still using the same points system or maybe a scaled down version? I know that was a problem at one time, that points were creating a s***load of good players which would eventually end up on only a few teams leading a a large discrepancy between the best and worst teams in the league. Also, are the drafts still incredibly loaded with talent as they were just before I left? Yes and Yes
  10. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) Kalapse. I went a little bit inactive over the summer because I was really busy. Also since you went inactive I thought Angels only had 1-2 seasons left in them before being destroyed so I some what laxed on trading my players and tried to keep guys like Pujols forever. Well see what happens, much harder to get to the top now than it was. Most of the best players are on a handful of teams. Which is one of the problems.. there is too many elite players, teams in this league are either really bad (because of their GM) or really good.. there are superstar players all over, not enough middle of the road growing teams. The league is watered down with superior talent
  11. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 08:37 PM) K not that my opinion matters - seeing as how I kinda resigned and all - but maybe you guys should go like until 2020 (so 15 seasons worth) and then restart. Just a nice round number, and it still gives the current GMs a chance to see if they can do anything with the talent they've built up. I have a SP who has a shot at 300 wins and a closer who has a chance to be the all time save leader if not top 3 closer of all time.. I want to see both of their careers end, but after that I wouldn't mind a restart with a fresh team Like I said, there is a lot of financial and talent things that need to be fixed, other than that its a great league
  12. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 08:27 PM) Did you guys start in 2005 or 2006? I suck at remembering 2005
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 08:09 PM) If you guys ever decide to start over and need a GM absolutely count me in, I just got through the busiest and most stressful couple of months of my life and now have some good free time for s*** like this. I'll admit Badger kicking my ass year in and year out from the very beginning of the league wore me down but the experience of playing was just awesome. Unless of course you're happy to have rid yourselves of me, that I could also understand. Please come back btw, Zoom is about to win the AL West for the 2nd year in a row.. looks like you got busy at the worst time
  14. I wouldn't mind starting over, as long as I have the final file to see how the careers of some of my players end.. Some of the insane talent and financial settings we have need to be fixed, could only accomplish that by starting over anyways. Hopefully this 2007 side league we are starting up will be able to give us a better idea of how to get things as life like as possible.
  15. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 07:39 PM) I don't really see how you can assume massive changes, hosts of other guys have been in the same situation and there aren't a whole lot that have drastically changed their size, makeup, and playing style. Plus, come on, how many 240 pound wing players do you see? Not many, cause it's just not neccesary. I would think working on his defense, passing, and to some extent ball-handling would be much higher priorities, since he can be a very good SF without bulking up too much. He can be decent in the post, but it's unlikely that posting up will become a huge part of his game. He's just too good on the perimeter, I just seriously doubt anyone would put that much effort into developing his post game at the expense of his perimeter abilities. Hey, is it a crime to discuss a dividing and interesting topic so much? Im not saying he WILL get massive changes, but to say that they are unlikely just doesn't make sense to me because it wouldn't be out of the question to do so. He wouldn't have to change his playing style, but adding some bulk to his frame wouldn't hurt. I guess I got a little carried away in some of my posts because he shouldn't be made into a post player, he already has all around talent, but its there if it needs to be done. You're right, posting up shouldn't be a big part of his game but he can still do it and I don't think he would have a problem with it in the NBA. He has the size already and has already shown in his college career so far that he is a threat from almost all over. Thats just why I like him over Oden, he is an all around player and not just stuck doing one thing. Once again though, I am not knocking Oden at all he is an excellent prospect and is most likely going to be a very good NBA player. I just value all around talent over specific position talent I suppose.
  16. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 07:25 PM) Not really, that's still an assumption. How many prominent players have grown significantly since they first hit the scene? It's not THAT common for a guy to suddenly grow 2 inches and add 40 pounds, that's a hell of a change, especially for a guy with a pretty thin frame. Plus if he bulks up THAT much it's likely to be a detriment to his mobility and his outside game, which is something you'd really hate to lose. Adding bulk just isn't as big a goal for perimeter players as they have many other things to work on. Plus there's still a big difference between him and guys like Duncan and KG besides size. They've been post players their entire career and have worked a lot on improving their strength, positioning, and moves. That's something that Durant just hasn't done and probably won't given his immense abilities on the perimeter. Im not trying to argue that Durant WILL be a post player, I am just saying that I don't think he is going to have a problem in the post And again, I don't see how thats an assumption.. He is definitely going to add size to his frame, he may be done growing (Which I doubt) but he WILL add some size. He is an 18 year old kid, its as close to a guarantee as you can get. I don't know if adding bulk to his frame is going to make him lose mobility, hes not just going to add weight, but bulk in terms of muscle size. I wouldn't think he would lose too much from it. I have been arguing with you all day on two different message boards, I am starting to think you have an Oden obsession.
  17. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 06:12 PM) If Illinois can consistently be 8-4, 8-5 with mid-size bowl games, that'll add a couple years onto Zook's contract. If Illinois can then compete for the Capital One Bowl, that'll make Zook a savior. Illinois has a lot of football history. Grange, Butkus, Grabowski, Nitschke, Rice, Howard, one of the first schools with homecoming, Dad's Day, certain band things... I know winning trumps all, but if they can start winning and Zook is not using reviving Illinois as a jumping off point, I think the Illini can at least get to the level of Wisconsin and Iowa.... Probably not Michigan or Ohio State, but they might sneak a Big Ten championship here and there. But first things first...Alamo, Sun, one of those bowls would be FANTASTIC!!! With the talent they are bringing in theres no way they don't improve on what they have been doing the past few years.. If Zook keeps bringing in recruiting classes like these, you never know maybe one day they could challenge for a National Title.. Ill settle for 5 wins now though after what we have been getting recently
  18. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 06:54 PM) That's not really true at all, Gasol and Durant are significantly different players. One is primarily a perimeter player, the other is a post player. Plus assuming growth spurts and massive weight gains isn't really a good argument. He'd need to significantly bulk up to play PF in the pros, and he'd still be better suited to play outside. He could be decent inside, but he's already damn good outside. His post game is really more of an individual matchup type thing. We're basically talking about a Tracy McGrady clone here... Tim Duncan is 6'11 260... you don't think that Durant right now at age 18 6'9-10 ish and 225 lbs cant add 30-40 lbs over the course of the next 4 years in the NBA with a person assigned to him for the sole purpose of bulking up and adding weight to be able to also play on the inside? Its not an assumption, he is an 18 year old kid who has freakish size. He is going to grow more, theres no doubt about that.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 07:00 PM) OWEN! Also, it's hard as s*** getting used to Domanick's name change. Haha yes, I wanted to just call him DD but he went and messed that all up by changing to williams.. I remember reading NFLdraftcountdown.coms mock draft and thats the first time I saw he changed his name I was like WTF?
  20. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 06:24 PM) Regardless of the sport, if I have the number one overall pick, I draft the best talent available and not for team need. Reggie Bush > Mario Williams. Point in case. I know this isn't an NFL thread but regardless.. the Texans shouldn't have taken Reggie Bush. Taking Williams was the right call for them. They need a defense desperately, and they already have a multi purpose running back in Domanick Williams if he is healthy which is the ONLY question about him. Reggie Bush would not have had the same season he had with the Saints if he was on the Texans, the OLine for the most part has been pretty poor and the defense is just atrocious. However, with Mario Williams and DeMeco Ryans being the first two picks of Kubiaks first draft they have made good strides in improving the D. Williams is a rookie already getting double teamed which, imo, helped Ryans out a TON with the massive amount of tackles he had in his rookie season as well. David Carr had a pretty good season despite his lack of TD's (68% comp, 82.1 rating) but again he didn't have Domanick back there who is a very good receiver out of the backfield. If they can get good offensive line play they are going to be fine offensively with Johnson, Carr, Moulds, Williams, Daniels.. but they need to build that defense especially with the Colts as the top team in that division.
  21. Durant Oden is going to be restricted to inside play, while Durant can play inside, outside, and anywhere in between.. Like it was already said, he has been adding weight and for someone who could easily be around 6'11 with the added weight he should be a monster at the next level.. I am not sold on Oden, sure he could be a good player.. but I dont think he is this cant miss going to be an all star player.. But then again, it all depends on who has the #1 pick and what they need
  22. I hope Kansas State can get into the top 25 before the tournament starts.. they already have the #1 recruiting class coming in, things are looking good for the future
