Dolphins | Team still pondering Culpepper trade Sun, 12 Mar 2006 18:28:07 -0800 John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban is still contemplating a trade with the Minnesota Vikings for QB Daunte Culpepper. The Vikings aren't as adamant about asking for a second-round draft choice that could upgrade to a No. 1, but they want a second-round draft pick. One problem is the Vikings won't let Culpepper have a doctor's visit with the Dolphins, only allowing him to talk on the phone with Miami. In the next 24 hours, the Dolphins quarterback will be either Culpepper or free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers).

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) I'm hoping man, that'd make my day, that's for sure. Were getting one of them, thats for sure. If Brees isnt signed by tomorrow I am almost 100% they are trading for Culpepper.. We cant lose EDIT: We just signed Sedrick Hodge (OLB) and Andre Goodman (CB) to very cheap deals.. Hodge will replace Seau and Goodman is a good against the run, prolly gonna be a Nickle or Dime back with Daniels still here and Poole coming off injury.. EDIT #2: Oh yeah, and Brees is out to dinner with Saban as we speak.. Hopefully he signs and is the new face of the Dolphins for the next 5-7 years!!!!

QUOTE(Yoda @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) Welcome back! I can only imagine what it feels to see your favorite baseball team win the World Series and not being able to post in this message board. But the team we have this season is built to repeat and hopefully every Sox fan will be together to celebrate. No kidding, It sucked

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) Hutchinson signs big offer sheet with Vikings. Link. $49 mil over 7 years, $16 mil guaranteed. Big cap hit the first year to prevent the Seahawks from matching. Will they match? That is going to be tough to match for Seattle, that is a monster contract..

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 11:10 AM) Now I'm hearing that the Saints have the most guaranteed money on the table for Brees and although he's visiting with the Phins', the Saints are considered to be the favorites. If the Saints are able to sign Brees, move down a few spots and draft D'Brickashaw Ferguson, they will have a nice, little offense in the making. I've said if Brees doesn't end up in Miami, Culpepper will, and I'm standing by my statement. Man I have been waiting to post about this.. The Phins' are my team, so I will let you guys know everything that I have heard about this situation.. Early saturday morning Nick Saban, Randy Mueller, and Wayne H. flew to Birmingham unannounced to meet with Brees before his visit with New Orleans to make sure that he did not sign a contract with them without Visiting Miami first, which he did today. Now, New Orleans has the money to spend and word is they are offering in the area of $10 million a year. They are going to be in the area of $3 million more in guaranteed money offered than the Dolphins, but, if I am Drew Brees why on earth would I want to go to the Saints? I am hoping that since Miami convinced him to leave New Orleans without a contract that they are going to do what it takes to get him signed by Monday if not sometime tonight. Miami has stated they wanted to get their Brees/Culpepper situation set out by today. Which brings me to Culpepper. As of right now to my knowledge Miami is the ONLY team still interested in Daunte, and if they miss on Brees they WILL go after Culpepper hard, even if it means giving up the 2nd round pick to acquire him. All I can say is if we get either one of these QB's I am going to be doing backflips.

Man, finally I am back. First though, I shall tell you the story of why I was exiled from this board.. I got suspended 10 months ago for a personal attack on a poster that I dont think anyone in this world likes, (Dougly), and not being able to read the board because of that I had to reset all my cookies to view it. Well, I dont know if any of you have ever realized how much it sucks seeing something that you just HAVE to say something about and not being able to. Well I got back on the first name I ever had on this board and started making a few posts here and there, tryin to keep it down, and got caught. Which was about 2 months or so after the suspension, which led to the ban, which has lasted since that time till now. Now that I got out why I was banned in the first place. (Tryin to avoid all the "What did you do?" questions.) I just wanna say that I know it was a mistake to do that and I should have just waited out the suspension, but, im the kind of person who sees something they have to let their opinion out about and I gotta do it now. It was the wrong desicion and I paid for it. I have a lot of people that I am friends with now over the internet because of this site, people that I talk to at least everyday on AIM who I wouldnt even KNOW if I didnt ever come to this site. It sucked having to read the board the past few months and just feeling crappy cause you cant post on it. Even though I could have just made a new name and posted if I wanted to, it wouldnt be the same if I had to hide and pretend to be someone else and not get to discuss things about how I really felt so people wouldnt know who I was. I had talked to Jason about being let back on and everytime I did I felt bad like I was bothering him and eventually I just gave up because I didnt wanna feel I was annoying him about it. I am just glad that I was given another chance. Now I know that there are people on the board who dont like me, and thats fine, cuz I know im a jackass. Sometimes. And it would have probably been easy for them to say "f*** that I dont want him back on here." and that would have been the end of that but obviously they could put that aside and let me have another chance and thats also something else that I am appreciative for in this whole process. Im seriously not the type of person who is out to just piss everyone off and cause problems. I dont even think I was that bad of a poster, seriously I wasnt even aware so many people hated my ass haha. Either way, not being able to post on here for almost a year sucked, its not really something that I want to experiance again. I know I am now on Soxtalk Parole, but you dont really need to worry im not gonna be a douche. I just want to get back to postin on the board and talking with my friends like I had been doin from early 2003 till late 2005 before I f***ed it up and got the boot. Im not gonna let that happen again. So again, thanks to those who made it possible for me to come back (Jason, Kalapse, and Whichever Admins decided that they could tolerate me one more time.) I do appreciate it and I am happy that I am now back. Thanks, Carl

QUOTE(Randar68 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) And take walks at a high rate. I dont see why he couldnt hit for a higher average eventually this kid is young and skipped to AA.. I think he is gonna be real good

Duque and Contreras worry me, ide really like us to add a starter here before the deadline... We definatly need one, and also a bat

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) Link Not saying I agree or disagree with the list, but it's interesting. Folks, Chris Young is catching on -- ranked as our highest prospect on the list at 28th, and here's the comments on him: If you don't feel like scrolling through the list, the Sox have five players on there -- Young, Anderson, McCarthy, Gio, and Sweeney. Sweeney comes in at 94, and everyone else is lower (meaning better, according to Roto). They act like a .265 average is pathetic.. That doesnt bother me at all if hes gonna hit HR's, Doubles, Play good defense, and steal some bases...

I would like my name to be changed to Von Doom, thank you very much

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) Just an off day. It happens. On July 20th it might happen to us for only the 31st time... pretty damn good, IMO. Should be everyones opinion, not just yours.. We just didnt have it today (so far but Kong just walked) but theres no reason to get down.. I really think we need a bat, get it done KW
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) No where to play him. I do like Lawton as well though. He can play OF or DH giving people rests where they need them.. who knows, im sure we could find a way
-
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) While I agree that we need some offensive help and it is showing today, I'm not blaming our poor performance today entirely on our offense. Nate Robertson ain't bad. He's actually pretty good. Gotta give him some credit. I wouldnt mind trying to pick up Lawton from the Pirates... the guy draws walks and has some pop, not to mention he is a LH bat..

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) Holy f*** are these at bats pathetic. LOL @ you.. one more baybeeeeee

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) Oddly we were near the league lead last year in runs scored also. Scoring runs is a bad stat. You can score 10 runs one game, and then score 1 for a few nights and look like a good average. Still shows that we are capeable of scoring runs..
