  1. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) I don't think you are understanding what I'm trying to say. I said don't get too cocky and think the Illini are going to beat everyone. Not just you, but mostly the team and their fan base. For example, my HS's team started 7-0 and everyone was kissing their ass saying they were going to win state and then they went out and lost two in a row. Tonight will be a tough game, and I have a feeling they are going to lose. I do not want them to lose; however, because the Illini are one of my favorite teams. First of all.... a 7 - 0 high school team has no business being compared to a 19 - 0 #1 team in college basketball.. (of course I say 19 - 0 because this would be pre game you brought this up) a lot of teams anywhere can go 7 - 0, but 20 - 0 is a different story ESPECIALLY in college basketball Also, I dont get why some people had such little faith in Illinois last night.. I suppose they just looked past the fact they were undefeated and #1 and CRUSHED some of the better teams this year (Wake, Gonzaga, Cincy) just because Wiscy had a 38 game home win streak? This isnt previous years, this is this year.. and when you looked at everything there shouldnt have been as big a doubt as I saw from a lot of people.. Oh and Aboz.... Illini by 16 next Tuesday

  3. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) What does the order matter? 1. MB 2. Freddy 3. Contreras 4. Garland 5. El Duque thats how I see it
  4. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 10:48 AM) Not the clippers. = teh sux0rs
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) Ya, las angeles is isn't a major market or anything. But you are right about the rumors of him possibly going to either orlando or las angeles when his contract is up. Lakers or Clippers? because if its Lakers i will be hella pissed
  6. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 10:39 AM) best. paint. sig. eva. LMAO yes.. im in the college library right now, bored as hell, so I decided to do a little Paint Shop
  7. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) I do not try and hide my bias, just it is very hard for teams to win on the road, especially when you are playing against defensive minded teams. Also I think its going to be a real rough environment, just have a feeling that most who are attending have been sitting around drinking all day just waiting to go to the Kohl Center. I think it will be more important for Illinois to get off to a good start than Wisconsin. Sb Yeah somewhat true, but this isnt Purdue or Michigan.. those type of teams are the type of teams I see as having little to no chance at a dominate home arena like Wisconsin where as Illinois is an unselfish team who can hit the long shot fairly consistantly.. They also play very good defense, and have tons of speed.. They are a very sound team I can see a repeat of Wake Forrest happening where Illinois jumped out and never looked back.. but yeah I will give you the home court theory, I just think Illinois will be able to overcome it
  8. I will never cheer for the Patsies.. as far as im concerned the Dolphins will win
  9. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 09:44 AM) If Illinois can handle the crowd, then they can win. I predict Wisconsin will win in a defensive game, although I think Illinois is probably more talented. SB you would say that wouldnt you soxBADGER
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 02:08 AM) I think he'll either stay in Houston which is most likely, or head to Orlando or Losa Angeles when his contract is up. What makes you say that? To go back with The Franchise?
  11. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) I honestly.......don't know. Illinois has had games where tey look like they should be able to take wisconsin down pretty handily. And then there's been games where Wisconsin could blow us out (ie: the iowa game) . All i know, it's going to be a damn good game to watch. Well in all fairness Iowa was one of our toughest opponents we have played, and I mean that.. Another thing, we shot like 30% that game, from our usual 50%\ Then you gotta take in account what we have done against the big time teams like Wake, Gonzaga, and Cincy.. We crushed all of them.. Should be a real good game, and I think we are going to show up ready to play.. Even if we lose, thats a good thing too, because if we lose now then they can say "Well we won 19 in a row, now we got that one loss lets keep playing hard" Ide be scared if they were still undefeated going into the tourny, ide rather them lose now so they dont have that extreme pressure on themselves.. BUT like I said I think we win tonight and keep it going..
  12. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) Bartolo-esq haha no way, Bartolo is just a blob.. Jenks actually looks like hes just got brute size
  13. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) IMO it would be incredibly stupid for the Sox to keep Willie at this point. Name some UIF who might be had for Willie? Can anything think of any? why?? What if Iguchi does terrible, wouldnt it be good to know Willie could step in and play instead of not knowing or having to put Valdez out there to start? Willie already proved he can play, now he just needs to start improving.. I didnt have a problem with .262 and a .343 OBP and 20 SB's from him.. especially since that was his first year as a full time starter.. I hope we keep him, it would be good insurance
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) Every now and then, I find just exactly the right words. "f*** the Yankees" seems to be a constant. When ARENT those the right words??
  15. How could you do that to an animal?? I mean I throw s*** at birds and smash bugs for no reason, but a dog??? come on man, thats f***ing sick.. I have 3 dogs and love all of them, and if I ever saw someone chokin my dog ide throw em a beating..
  16. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Yes the Yankees have navy pinstripes. But, unless you are making a close inspection you can't tell the difference. However, f*** the Yankees and their pinstripes. The Sox uniforms are perfect. Couldnt have put that any better
  17. QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) When I first read that, I thought they meant John Madden in the towel. mmmmmm....
  18. Yeah he could be added, all you gotta do is create him.. wouldnt be hard
  19. QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) Isn't the Yankee color a little closer to Navy blue? Yeah I thought the Yankees was a dark navy color too I love our uniforms, they are awesome.. I think we have the best Logo in baseball.. My favorite would also be the alternate black tops but I think Frank looks badass in the white pinstriped ones, like how the sleeves are tight on his arms and he just looks like a monster up there at the plate..
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) hey im a big Willie fan but those numbers in Japan the last 2 years were sick that Iguchi put up so while id rather have just not signed Iguchi and kept Willie i think now that we did we have to give Iguchi the job. Which in turns makes Willie a great bat off the bench. Sure numbers in Japan are nice but that doesnt mean they will translate over to here.. I would love for him to hit .330 with 25 HR's and 20 SB's but I wont expect that
  21. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Jan 23, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) that pic on the right reminds me of someone... BAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) While bunting ability is a nice tool to have, the ability to take pitches, hit behind the runner and to hit run are every bit as much a part of the equation of a number 2 hitter. I think too much emphasis is put on bunting ability around here ... especially for an AL club. Agreed
  23. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) He also made up for the loss of Ryan Wing with Bobby Jenks. In all honesty that was my favorite move this offseason... After I saw the segment on ESPN about him and his 100+ MPH fastball, I was like "Man I wish the Sox could get that guy" and what do you know, we eventually did.. I really hope we hang on to him and hope to see him on the southside in the future because he would quickly be one of my favorite players..
