  1. He's a good player, but hes not an elite player. Hes going to get a huge contract because that's just how it works in free agency. High motor guy, good player, but not an elite level player.
  2. Mac Jones had a nice rookie season, then had Matt Patricia as his OC and has regressed. Why are they tied together? Their both former first round QBs who stink.
  3. Ok, Fields is an athletic QB who isn’t accurate and can’t read the field. Both aren’t very good and won’t command high end compensation.
  4. If Mac Jones value is a 6th round pick, I think there’s no way you get a 2nd for Fields.
  5. The majority of the time I see them, they're roadkill.
  6. That can't be true, they're around.
  7. Disagreed, but im not going to continue arguing about that trade so good day sir.
  8. Even if Burger is a .280 hitter with 20-25 HR's hes another slow plodding big man who is bat only. Ive had enough of that here, would rather have the potential for a starting rotation option.
  9. Its ok, once his wrist heals he will be good again.
  10. Majority of people were pretty disappointed with how 2022 went, but I would say I don't believe anyone who tries to say with a straight face they saw this team winning 61 games in 2023.
  11. Either way, a 61 win season wasn't in the realm of possibilities going into last season. Most thought Tony was the problem as well as playing in a terrible division.
  12. I mean the 2023 team was expected to contend, most would agree I imagine. That was quickly ended before the first month though.
  13. Mike Soroka hasn't started more than 6 games in a season since 2019 and has made 9 starts total since that 2019 season. If he shows a glimpse of anything he should be traded as quickly as possible.
  14. In reality, taking a playoff aspirations club and winning 61 games should have gotten you fired. Coming back the next season and winning 55 games should without a doubt get you fired. Even winning 68 games, should get you fired. In White Sox land, where there is no accountability and the leash is miles long, you are probably right. He will most likely be here next season as well, if nothing more than JR saving himself from paying two managers at once.
  15. I don't care how bad they are, I am ready to watch the Sox every day and curse the off days because its boring without it.
  16. After I saw the original post I went to go look at his 2023 season and he was actually pretty solid for us and then completely fell off the cliff when he was traded so I would imagine this had something to do with it. He was awful.
  17. If Soroka bounces back and is a solid #3 starter than you can probably kiss his ass goodbye as he will either be traded or let walk to FA, I can't see anyway they give him a contract comparable to what he could get on the open market these days.
  18. Last years team was more talented than this years team and they won 61 games. I have a hard time seeing a path that is over 65 wins, especially when you consider anyone who is doing fairly well will most likely be traded halfway through the season.
  19. Thompson is 23 years old, hes still a prospect. Just because you aren't a top prospect doesn't mean you aren't a prospect. I admire your outlook on this team, at the same time I read most of your posts and whisper "wtf?" under my breath as I read them.
  20. I agree with all of this, it's like they aren't picking a direction and committing to it. I loved the Santos trade, and then the Mena trade was like the total opposite direction.
  21. There's no way he makes it past this season. Were going to lose 95+ games, I don't think there is any way that you can bring him back.
  22. Its hard to judge him honestly, he has been developed in a minor system that really hasn't proven they can develop anyone. If the Cubs can get his control in order, hes probably a back of the rotation guy.
  23. Don't agree at all with your assessment that Thompson is extremely likely to never make it while Horn has a decent chance to be on this team for 6+ years. And even so, I still would rather have the roll of the dice of the starting pitcher than a reliever for the position that this team is in right now. My gripe is why are we trading SP prospects for low upside, not that we traded Matt Thompson the specific player. Fletcher has less than 100 AB's in the majors and can't hit lefties. To me, and to most of what I have seen reported/projected, he is a platoon player. We'll see about the 2 WAR floor, that seems pretty ambitious to me.
