  1. Yep that was it, I knew there was something about his knee but couldn't remember the extent of it.
  2. Hes a 25 year old (in December) first baseman in high A, hes a definite non prospect. Doesn't mean he wont make it one day, but definite non prospect. And for some reason I thought he had bum knees or knee as well.
  3. Well, you're obviously ok with what you have been seeing since the second half of 2021. More power to you. I sincerely hope you enjoy watching Robert patrol CF for the next few seasons while this team blows. I guess that's what's best for the franchise.
  4. Its insane, absolutely insane. There is no pitching for next year, even when you include Cease. They aren't going to go out and sign two high end starting pitchers. The team as currently constructed is about to lose 100 games. How can they fool anyone into believing that they can compete next year or even the year after that when we are going to have a worse roster than the current 95-100 loss roster? The total lack of accountability in this franchise is unacceptable. Its embarrassing.
  5. This, exactly. It sucked trading Sale, Eaton, and Quintana but it wasn't working. And trading one of the best SP this organization has ever had, another front of the rotation type pitcher, and a 6+ war OFer turned into 2 playoff appearances. Which I remind you is 2 more than they had with all of those high end players. I don't WANT to see Luis Robert traded. I do WANT to see the White Sox in the playoffs. If trading Robert to get potential pieces that they aren't going to pay for in free agency is how its going to happen, then that's what needs to happen. There is just no benefit to having Cease and Robert be superstars on a 78 to 82 win team for the next 3-4 years. I am skeptical if they can even win that many games with the state of this roster moving forward.
  6. I can't argue that. I can only argue that having Luis Robert play center field for the White Sox for the next 3-4 years while they wallow in mediocrity is not good for the future of this franchise. Same goes for Dylan Cease, not trading him is going to be a massive mistake.
  7. You guys that want to hang onto Robert while this team sucks baffle me. Why? What's the point? I don't think they would trade him, but if they got their socks blown off by an offer why would it be a hard no? Will this team contend for a championship in 2024? Not a chance. Will they contend for a championship in 2025? Highly unlikely. What about 2026? Probably not, maybe. At this point in time we have Robert for one more season, and if he continues to get better you can kiss his ass goodbye as he wont be getting a 350+ million dollar contract to play here.
  8. Considering they weren’t going to be on this team in a few months, it’s a great trade
  9. What’s the plan for next year? Most of these guys traded for aren’t ready and we’re not going to be signing all these replacements. How can these dopes think they can still contend and not trade our remaining assets?
  10. A defensive guy with an 80 arm, I love it
  11. Outstanding return, Lynn was DFA worthy and Kelly wasn’t getting it done here and you got a legit prospect for them.
  12. They had an opportunity to sign two different stars 5 years ago but they didn't, and they were never serious about it. That's why the rebuild was doomed to fail from the start,
  13. Benintendi? The guy who hasn't even eclipsed 1 WAR yet..? The guy were going to be paying $17 million a year to starting next season to be essentially a replacement player...? Its Cease and Robert. The rest of this team is hot garbage.
  14. Not only that, but they didn't even do anything at the trade deadline except get scrub ass Geoff Blum which ended up winning a World Series game for them and only re-enforcing a belief that you don't have to "go for it" at the deadline.
  15. Sir, this team is 21 games under .500 in the middle of their "contending window". Mixed results my ass buddy.
  16. Except they can just trade him later or let him walk after next year for a comp pick and they'll develop another Bieber because that's what good organizations can do.
  17. Yeah, how anyone could possibly believe someone was losing their job or Hahn was quiet fired is crazy. That's not how JR does things.
  18. They can't trade Cease, it would be an admission of failure. They are going to limp this thing through as long as possible until it finally just dies. At least that's what I am getting from all of this.
  19. The stretch of the team being good wasn't a fluke for reasons you have said above, but the 2005 season in particular where four starting pitchers started 32+ games and threw over 200 innings and we had career years from almost all relievers was definitely a fluke.
  20. They're going to lose 100. Hell, the next 16 games are against the Guardians, Rangers, Yankees, and Brewers. How many of those are they realistically going to win with no pitchers.
  21. You should understand it, they believe they can still contend next season
