  1. How about the Orioles, they are calling up Jordan Westburg today and their farm is still loaded with top prospects including the #1 prospect in baseball.
  2. They could trade Giolito and some bullpen arms to restock some of the farm and still not go into a full rebuild. To be clear, they absolutely should go into a full rebuild. I don't think they will though, not with how bad this division is.
  3. An entire group of players don't all just lose it at the same time. This is an organizational issue. Coaching, Philosophy, Development, etc. The culture in this franchise sucks. It needs an enema.
  4. The worst, I mean absolute worst, thing that this organization can do is to hold onto Giolito and these fluky bullpen arms hoping they can win this division as an under .500 team. Just pure stupidity if they do that. I would hope they look at the big picture and do what they need to do to for future seasons. The hole they dug themselves into up to this point has doomed the season.
  5. AL Central Teams Vs AL Central Teams Twins - 15-12 White Sox - 15-11 Tigers - 15-11 Guardians - 8-11 Royals - 6-14 AL Central Teams Vs Everyone Else Twins - 25-27 White Sox - 19-34 Tigers - 18-32 Guardians - 29-29 Royals - 16-42 Whoever wins this division is going to get swiftly booted from the playoffs anyways.
  6. These guys will need to go 39-44 the rest of the way to prevent losing 90 games. They are going to lose 90 games. We have no pitching depth and our offense can't get on base. Its going to happen.
  7. Its actually a horrible example, because the Orioles have done this with the help of an excellent and deep farm system. The question posed was has anyone turned it around WITHOUT the help of the farm or spending huge FA dollars. The best example would be the 2024 White Sox winning 90+ games and winning the division as our farm system sucks and we know we wont be spending big in free agency. I think that is what he was looking for.
  8. How were you confident at all to begin with? And I don't mean this as a snarky comment, but there's no way anyone could have watched all these games so far and had any confidence that this team could win this division. The only thing preventing this team from being in last place is a tanking Royals squad.
  9. Unfortunately, you better get ready for Chris Getz as GM when/if Hahn is relieved of his duties.
  10. The roster construction of this team is just baffling. Its littered with plodding DH's. I know its been beaten to death, but my god how can multiple people in this organization see this come together and think "Yep, this is going to be a championship caliber club." Vaughn, Eloy, Burger, Sheets, Grandal.. these guys would need to hit .300 with 35+ HR's to return value to the roster because they cant run, they cant play defense, they offer nothing outside of the bat. All 5 of these guys are in the top 9 for at bats on this team. Over 50% of our lineup on a given night are statues that negatively impact the team if they aren't hitting HR's in bunches. The other part of our lineup is Robert and DFA candidates or disappointments. Its easy to see why this team is as bad as they have been. They were constructed that way.
  11. There’s virtually no chance they sell off if they stick in the 5 games back range. They will either stand pat or waste assets. It’s what they do.
  12. Baltimore 45-28 and currently in the playoffs and their entire roster cost less than Andrew Benintendi.
  13. If JR would hire someone from outside of his comfort zone, the White Sox GM job should be very attractive for an up and coming GM candidate. Outside of the general "There's only 30 of these jobs available" you would be stepping into the biggest payroll in a bad division. If you're good at your job you could dominate the central. It also allows you to showcase yourself for when JR inevitably dicks you around and you can leave to land a GM job with a better organization.
  14. Ugh, so Jose Rodriguez gets called up to ride the pine I see. What a s%*# lineup, thank god this is blacked out on MLBtv for me so I don't have to suffer through this.
  15. Giolito, Kelly, and hopefully Graveman all are moved for solid returns. Any other 1 year guys if it makes sense (Grandal, Middleton, Lopez, etc.) I would be perfectly fine waiting until the offseason to unload the other valuables.
  16. It doesn't matter, the White Sox or ANY AL Central team for that matter is not winning 4 straight series against very good teams no matter how hot they are at the time. Were not talking about an 88-90 win team, this is going to be a bad team coming out of this division.
  17. Yeah I get that, but if they were doing away with the current format to fit 32 teams I would hope that would change.
  18. Why on earth should two teams in the same city not be in the same division? That’s what makes the most sense. Cubs and Sox in the same division would be awesome.
  19. For sure, tired of hearing him yell on the mound.
  20. Was just coming to say this, what the hell was that
  21. So much hard contact off Lynn, they better keep scoring
