I was going to post that earlier, this team pulled an ace and another front of the rotation pitcher out of thin air and are still going to be the worst team in MLB history. What the f***??
-
JR should be absolutely embarrassed with the product being put on the field right now. How can any self respecting businessman watch this and just continue to let it ride. And even if all hes cares about is making money, there is no way this isn't negatively impacting that.
-
17 losses in a row, 27-84 record. How on earth does the manager keep his position here. They don't care.
-
These guys absolutely suck, but they aren't going to finish 5-46. I think 10-41 is in play though.

Assuming they lose today, they will lose 120 games if they finish 15-36 which seems almost a certainty. They would need to go 5-46 to finish with 130 losses, which seems highly unlikely.

Oops, you are correct.

After cooling on it, I would probably go with this. B Plus - Tanner Banks for INF William Bergolla. Ill always get behind trading a reliever for a position player prospect with the state of this team. D - Eloy Jimenez for LHP Trey Mcgough. I don't care about JR's money so this was a nothing trade to me. D - Paul DeJong for RHP Jarold Rosado. Again, a nothing trade. Don't care about minor league relievers. D Minus - Fedde, Kopech, and Pham for INF Miguel Vargas, INF Jeral Perez, and INF Alexander Albertus. Just not enough value here, especially when it was all three of them together.

Quero I think, but yeah not good otherwise.

Eh, I think most people felt Getz was a lateral move if not a worse move as far as a replacement goes.
-
Im not giving up on him yet, but my god early returns are not good on a trade we could not afford to botch.
-
Guys, I think this one might be over.

This has got to be the worst lineup we've put out there year so far, right?

You can't assume player B is going to go through the same struggles, that wasn't part of what you said initially. Just as an option, if I get offered a former top prospect who has struggled at the MLB level over 400+ plate appearances but produced in the minors OR a current top prospect who hasn't yet made it to the MLB but has produced in the minors gimme the latter all day. Its risk mitigation, you have a first hand view that this guy might be a bust. You don't with the other guy. In January 2023 I bought a new car. 4 days later the check engine light came on. I took it back and exchanged it for a different car. While it was probably not a big deal, and the car would be fine I still would rather have the car that hadn't shown any issues over the one I saw have a problem.

Let me ask you this, you are trading Erick Fedde. Here are the offers on the table and you need to pick 1. Player A - Was ranked in the top 30-40 top prospects a year ago. Has 438 MLB PA's over the last 3 seasons and has slashed .198 / .291 / .651 Player B - Is ranked in the top 75-100 top prospects right now, has yet to make MLB debut, and has produced at every minor league stop hes made so far. So yeah, I would have been much happier about the trade had we got player B, but well never know if that was ever an option anyways.

He takes a beating on this board because - He was and is not qualified to be an MLB GM. - He took a 100 loss team that should have been a slam dunk to improve and somehow made it 20 games worse. - He has made numerous head scratching trades and signings. This season isn't the worst of it yet, this is just the start.

Of course he wasn’t traded, he assured that with his comments last week

Where’s all the people that were like “they have like $50 million committed they’re fine”. lol.

Brooks Baldwin is a SS

These guys really picked the worst fucking time to go ice cold on a 15 game losing streak and run their mouths to the media.
-
Yes he should have. There are a lot of things that should have happened this season that haven't. It's incredible to me they are just rolling along like it's no big deal what's happening here.

Its very clearly #2. I guarantee you they went into this season thinking DeJong could be passable until Montgomery was ready in the second half. DeJong was never a legit flip candidate, and I am sure they never expected to have him out there as much as he was.
