  1. Does Joe Girardi get a ring when the Phillies win?
  2. That is some lofty expectations. The dodgers won 111 games and they’re top 4 hitters only put up 21 WAR.
  3. JR is the only one who matters, and Ozzie can sit down and spew enough bullshit to convince that man he deserves chance number two.
  4. I didn’t believe for a second they would hire LaRussa either when he got an interview. It was like one of those “that’s cute they’re doing a favor” things that quickly turned into a “wait wtf is going on here” thing. I didn’t think Ozzie had a chance, mainly because they said he wouldn’t now all of the sudden he’s getting an interview? Wtf is going on here, again.
  5. 100%, it’s going to be Ozzie isn’t it
  6. Guys, if Espada is being hired you don’t continue to conduct interviews. Very scary that Ozzie is getting an interview after they came out and said he wouldn’t be considered. JR attempt number 2 at fixing a former manager estranged situation I fear.
  7. Was the true the tweet that said the Sox interviewed Ozzie??
  8. Nothing, our power was out for 3 days so it didn't run. It was 11 degrees for two days and then It was back in the 50's-60's a few days later. A generational storm is the exception, not the rule.
  9. The point was a human being is most likely not basing their decision solely on the state of the baseball franchise. When you also consider where you will be living for half of the year or so and how much money the government is going to take from your paycheck that plays into it as well. I was born and raised in Illinois, will always love that its where I am from and say it proudly.
  10. Well, I live in Texas and have since 1994. This post is nonsense, I don't think we even ran the heater last winter. You can make the argument for Florida, but there are very few better places to live than Texas if were talking about weather and cost of living. In December when you're shoveling snow in 20 degree weather I will be outside in shorts and a t-shirt in mid 60's and sunny.
  11. Also keep in mind, Texas and Florida have no state tax and are infinitely better places to live than Illinois.
  12. Anyone but Houston. I would be rooting for the Cubs if they were in the playoffs if it meant Houston doesn't win.
  13. We already have one of ‘em, why not keep it going
  14. lol, just for that one year not in the big picture.
  15. Moncada strikes me as someone who would be dumped onto the Dodgers and turn into perennial monster.
  16. Ive been coaching my sons little league teams for the last 6 years, I should be in the running. Were even the White Sox this season, so I have the tie in as well.
  17. Fair point, but his 2020, 2021, and 2022 are all equally as pedestrian. Either way, I wouldn't swap Tim for Marte in a one on one deal.
  18. I would be ok with trading Tim, as long as they aren't dumping him. Marte 1.8 WAR in 2021 Anderson 4.8 WAR in 2021 They weren't even close. Leury Garcia was better than Ketel Marte in 2021, let that one sink in.
  19. Ketel Marte has been pretty meh for three years now unfortunately. It would be ridiculous to swap Anderson for him, Anderson has more value than a change of scenery swap.
  20. Its incredibly hard on the knees to be that large of a person and do the things you need to do as a professional athlete.
  21. I was in a 75 man survivor pool that is down to 5 people after 6 weeks. And this included everyone getting one forgiveness game during weeks 1-5.
  22. I would argue they aren't really preventable, maybe the non contact type, but a large majority of knee injuries in professional sports is because of contact that you just cant protect against. Obviously, this is overwhelmingly tilted towards football.
  23. I don’t think we disagree, I would be fine with either of those guys. I was just saying a good manager can come from anywhere.
  24. A lot of the teams in the playoffs right now have managers that I would definitely say do not fit the criteria of coming from super successful organizations. Aaron Boone was a commentator for ESPN, John Schneider was a coach in the Blue Jays minors, Kevin Cash was a bullpen coach in Cleveland, Scott Servais was a front office guy with the Rangers and Angels, Dave Roberts was a coach in the Padres organization. A good manager is important, but good managers aren't exclusive to successful organizations. There's only 30 of these jobs available you have to search wide and find the good ones, they're out there.
  25. Soxtalk: Is there no way we can get rid of him? JR: Not without cause Soxtalk. Soxtalk: I have cause, it is be-cause I hate him.
