  1. I see a lot of people claiming this is a 40 win team.. that seems a little generous at this point.
  2. Im very interested in seeing the lineup. Is this actual change, or is it going to be the same horeshit we've seen all season. Theres no way Grady Sizemore, as a former OFer, can look at Sheets and say "Yeah, this is my RFer".
  3. That OPS number is misleading. He had a .790 OPS in June, a .658 OPS in July, and so far in a SSS in August its 1.166. I still think the best we can expect out of him is low .700's which I guess we would all take at this point.
  4. You guys need to remember that JR and Getz thought this team was going to be considerably better than last year which explains a lot of the moves they made on the front end. They really believed if they just made defensive changes that's all that was needed to start heading towards contention.
  5. We ended up getting Jose Valenin for this guy, who put up 16.9 bWAR over 5 seasons. I would say we came out pretty good for that 5 million.
  6. He's the worst signing in this franchises history, can't really compare him to other big time signings because the Sox don't swim in those waters so its not really apples to apples. His Sox career slash line is .243 / .303 / .657 with a whopping -1.7 bWAR
  7. Until proven otherwise, I have zero faith in this organization making the right hire.
  8. Its the same s%*# as last season where the inexplicably let Hahn and KW run the trade deadline, and THEN fired them a few weeks later.
  9. What the hell is going on here, that guy was halfway to 2B before the ball was even hit
  10. Someone needs to go out there to throw innings to get through the rest of this season, thats why hes here.
  11. WTF is Dominic Leone doing back here lol
  12. Yeah well that tends to happen when your favorite team is 60 games under .500 and on pace to be the worst team in baseball history.
  13. If he hasn't been fired after everything that has happened/is happening this season, I can't imagine what it would actually take to fire him before the end of the season. It certainly seems like they just accepted this season is a lost cause and there is no reason to do anything about it until its over.
  14. This would have never been allowed to continue with any other manager/coach in any other professional sport. This is really something.
  15. lol could you imagine the scenario where the Sox have to decline Roberts option. I would have put big money on 0% chance that happens.
  16. They'll be just fine. They will get the 10th pick in 2025 and then have the best odds at the top pick in 2026.
  17. Listen I didn't want Tony LaRussa managing this team but there is no way he is responsible for all of these players busting. They all continued to get worse even after he left the dugout.
  18. Where are they going to pull 20-30 wins from? We will more than likely be without Crochet and Robert. There are no difference makers in the system that will be ready for next season. They aren't going to sign any difference maker free agents. And this is to just get to 60 wins. Woof!
  19. I don't believe he wants to win. Nobody who truly wants to win says it doesn't mean it was a bad year if you finish 3rd or 4th. People who truly want to win would be disgusted with finishing 3rd or 4th. You think Kobe Bryant would every say some s%*# like that?
  20. Realistically, nothing changes with AJ Hinch as manager. Our assets all depreciated, who from our core and prospects didn't become worthless? Cease and Robert? We also have an owner who refuses to bring in difference makers to supplement that core. It goes far beyond the terrible decision to let LaRussa lead this team. In an alternate reality though, the Sox hire Hinch. They land Harper and Wheeler. Our core continues to blossom and the White Sox are the class of the American League and we have another championship or two by now.
  21. I can't see a path to winning 70 games next season. Especially if they trade Crochet and Robert in the off season.
  22. Ill die on this hill, but if the Sox would just poach people from the TB/CLE front office and said "Do the same thing here you do there, but you also get a $180,000,000 million payroll" the White Sox would win this division or be right in it every single year. I don't even understand why JR won't entertain this, he could probably even go lower on the payroll and still field a profitable and competitive team every year.
  23. It sucks, but im taking a lot of peoples performances this season with a grain of salt. This is just a toxic mess of a situation to have to play in every single day. Example, the other night when Benintendi inexplicably just let the ball drop out in front of him and the rails went off Wilson's outing. He should have been out of there with no damage, but ends up giving up 5 "earned" runs. Season is going miserable, they obviously get nothing from Grifol. Its just no good all around.
