  1. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) At the same time, putting him in a spot in the lineup other than #2 might lead him to try to increase his power numbers, which would be disasterous. See Scott Podsednik in 2004. :headshake You mean like in his usual spot lower in the order when he played in Japan. He was a top run producer there. A genuine #2 hitter would allow Gooch to move down to 6 so he can hit more HRs and drive in more RBI and strengthen our line-up more. BTW in case you didn't notice, Podsednik and Iguchi are two different types of players.
  2. QUOTE(lemon44 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) Ed Farmer was on the Score today and said that Nomar might go to a team and play CF.Maybe the Sox are the team thinking about this and he could back up Crede at third.

    Milton

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 08:09 AM) Looking over next semester, the convienent English class is Milton of Paradise Lost fame. Anyone a fan? I'm trying to decide to take it or not. Some find Milton to a very arrogant and manipulative writer and other find him inspiring and love the challenges he brings to you as you read his work. It should provide a healthy stream of debates during class.
  16. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 6, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) I heard Chicken Little is a really bad movie. It the usual non-Pixar CG animated faire... Heavy on promoting who is doing the voices (like kids 5-9yrs old care), story is not a priority, bright visuals but no originality. Even my 6yr old was bored. He hated Robots too. Kids are smater than some studios think...
  17. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 6, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) refresh my mammories... what's the sandman's history and why does he like putting people to sleep? According to the Marvel comics website: Powers: Sandman possesses the ability to transform his body into a malleable, sand-like substance that can be hardened, dispersed or shaped according to his will. Also, he is able to increase his size and mass to an unknown extent by incorporating nearby sand into his form.
  18. THE SANDMAN! This has been rumored for a while now, but this is official release from Sony. Now we wait to see what Villian Topher Grace is playing...either Venom or Electro. Sandman is really going to push the limits of CGI....Can't wait.

  22. What a world... :headshake Always keep an eye on your children...no matter who they are with! What blows my mind, besides the obvious, is that she wrote him love notes!!! http://www.breitbart.com/news/2005/11/04/D8DLQK282.html Conn. Woman Sentenced for Sex Offense Nov 04 BRIDGEPORT, Conn. A woman was sentenced to six years in prison Friday for having repeated sexual contact with her daughter's 8-year-old playmate, once sending him a love letter that said "I want you!" Tammy Imre, 30, apologized during the hearing. "I'm truly sorry for everything," she said. She had pleaded guilty to two counts of risk of injury to a minor, a reduced charge that the boy's family accepted to spare both children time on the witness stand. Imre was arrested last November on sexual assault charges after the boy's mother found Imre's letter to her son. According to police, Imre told the boy in the letter that she didn't "want anyone but you. Now tomorrow it's supposed to rain, you can come over we can (you know what). Love ya! I want you!" Imre admitted engaging in sexual acts with the boy but said it stopped short of sexual intercourse. "When this was first in the paper, it was almost a joke, because of the role reversal," prosecutor Cornelius Kelly said. "It conjures up thoughts of, 'Oh, that's a young man's dream.' But as we stand here today, we still don't know what damage this will have on the young boy's self-esteem, his interpersonal relationships. We don't know what damage the young girl suffered." Imre's daughter, who witnessed some of the acts, is now in foster care, authorities said. The boy's mother told the judge that Imre "has hurt a lot of innocent people, including her own daughter, who not only lost her mother but (also) her best friend, who was my son." Defense attorney Donald Papcsy said Imre had been raped and has a mental problem that made it hard for her to understand that what she did was wrong. "She's not a wicked person," he said. Besides the prison term, Imre was sentenced to 10 years' probation, when she must register as a sex offender.
