QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) Straight from Kenny Williams' mouth, he has absolutely no interest in Juan Pierre. I just heard him answering the Pierre question on the Score on the latest update. Kenny said that because of Brian Anderson and Jerry Owens, and even further down the line with Chris Young and Ryan Sweeney, the Sox have absolutely no interest in Juan Pierre. Kenny said that he hasn't even made a single call to the Marlins regarding Pierre. That's it folks, either Brian Anderson or Jerry Owens will be starting in our outfield next season. I suspect a big reason for Kenny coming out and stating this is because the price for Pierre is ridiculously high now with many teams interested in him. The Cubs will have to overpay for his services. Yeah yeah... He said the same thing last year about AJ & Tadahito..."Absolutely No Interest!" Remember? They were very happy going into the season with Ben Davis(whom they had just resigned) and Willie Harris. Just as some people say: I'll believe it when he is on our team...I'll believe this when he is NOT on our team. Kenny Williams HATES talking about what he is doing when it comes to trades. He will NEVER let on about any potential moves. He will deny and deny until it happens. Now, I'm not saying it WILL happen, but don't believe for one second the White Sox are not talking to Florida.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) Well you *could* delete the 5 GB of Neal Cotts pics... Make sure though she doesn't delete 2MB of legal papers from his lawyers explaining how far she must keep from him.

I'm not much of a comic book geek, in fact I never really read them in my youth. But I do enjoy the movies and this one looks great. The thing I enjoyed about the X-Men films is the quality of actors they employ. It seems like a great theatrical company performing a superhero play for us. Look for Kelsey Grammer in his first major post-"Frasier" role as the blue, monstrous, hairy, 3 piece suit-wearing Beast. On a funny note, I'm heading to London in the beginning of January to see a few shows, one of which stars Ian McKellan in drag. Should be fun. Enjoy in quicktime glory! http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/x3/

QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) Sorry to burst your bubble guys, I don't think Brian Anderson is a player....Hopefully they trade for Pierre. What's your basis for this?

For those not watching... John Kruk and Harlod Reynolds both agree that losing Aaron Rowand will be a huge blow to the White Sox.

The only thing I got from watching this today is: Karl Ravach needs a toupee.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Well, considering the most interesting storyline for baseball right now is whether or not 1 of the top 5 hitters in baseball will remain in Boston next season or what Boston will get in return, I don't think I'd mind too much if the coverage focused on Boston. The White Sox are already done doing most of their damage...now we just need to start locking guys up and finding 1 fairly cheap backup infielder to go along with Pablo. Now we get to see what our competition does to try to catch up with us. Willie Harris not doing it for you?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 09:30 AM) Hey, quick question, what is Orton's record? And just to compare, what is Grossman's? Yeah, bench him for sure. :banghead Thanks for illustrating my point.

Isn't the agrument to keep starting Kyle Orton the same one Dick Juron used to not fire John Shoop? "We're winning with him, look at our record...that's the bottom line" :rolly

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) no. It's obvious Kenny hates Frank. :headshake I'll tell you what is obvious... (and you can take it from there)

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) At the same time, putting him in a spot in the lineup other than #2 might lead him to try to increase his power numbers, which would be disasterous. See Scott Podsednik in 2004. :headshake You mean like in his usual spot lower in the order when he played in Japan. He was a top run producer there. A genuine #2 hitter would allow Gooch to move down to 6 so he can hit more HRs and drive in more RBI and strengthen our line-up more. BTW in case you didn't notice, Podsednik and Iguchi are two different types of players.

QUOTE(lemon44 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) Ed Farmer was on the Score today and said that Nomar might go to a team and play CF.Maybe the Sox are the team thinking about this and he could back up Crede at third.

I estimate another $5 million added to the payroll

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) I've seen them. If you test positive, it plays a movie of Ozzie gesturing for Jenks, to show what you'll look like in a few months. This is high-quality comedy in this thread!

They started giving out this award in 1983 and the Chicago White Sox have won it 5 times, well more than any other team. WOW. 1983 - Tony Larussa 1990 - Jeff Torgorg 1993 - Gene Lamont 2000 - Jerry Manuel 2005 - Ozzie Guillen Congrats Ozzie for taking us to the promised land!!
