  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) Can someone find out where Marrioti was at the time of this incident....??? Since he can't get a press pass...Trying to buy scalped tickets to get into the Cell
  2. QUOTE(furious_george @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) Boy, on all the national shows. Heard nothing but whining about: 1) MLB requiring them to keep the park dome open 2) Supposed "bad behavior" on the part of Sox fans towards Astro fans. Boy, do these people WHINE!! Why can't they admit that they were OUTPLAYED in 2 games?? See here about the dome: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42066 See here about the incident with Biggio's wife: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42073 Welcome to Soxtalk!
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) What about the Jon Garland factor for Houston? Garland has made a big point of winning key games all year against big teams. Heck look no further than how he pitched against the Angels in the pivotal Game 3 of the ALCS. If I could use the "Search" option on this site, I would
  4. I remember when these were first posted. It was funny and we likes seeing our guys having a good time. Then, in the three times it's been posted since, it turned uglier each time. Now the thread title reflects that AJ is with strippers and cheating on his wife... :headshake
  5. QUOTE(SoxFanInDallas @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) Houston didn't care enough during the season. Houston's basic rule was if no rain and under 80 degree's, play with roof open. If over 80 or rain or some type of inclement weather, play with it closed. They went against this rule in the playoff's for the noise advantage. Past Practice boys... Open that roof!
  6. Didn't I use to see TONS of threads admonishing Ozzie for never putting out the same line-up everyday and letting his bench players play too much? He hasn't changed the line-up at all in post-season and with 2 winds away from the World Series title...people want him to change it?!?
  7. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:46 AM) LMAO! I was going to post a pic of teh Titanic, but wasn't sure how many would get it. I was just going to post his name...but I added the titanic reference so people might get it! yeah us!!

  9. QUOTE(Wedge @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:35 AM) GO ASTORS! Long live John Jacob Astor! Hero of the Titanic!
  10. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) That was great! I was thinking he daughter would do it next! Not a bad idea...
  11. Not exactly the phrase I'd use to profess my admiration for Konerko. Some might... Not that there's anything wrong with that...
  12. QUOTE(HineyBird @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:07 AM) ok the astors will win they are the best go astros. can you triple stamp a double stamp. where are lloyd and harry when you need them :headshake Glad to see you understand
  13. Did you guys hear ESPN predicted us not to WIN the division!?! Jerks!!
  14. The Rally Crede actually defeated Santa Anna while Sam Houston cried in the corner!
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Every other game the blimp and their sponsors don't pay several million $$'s to show overhead shots. If the Stros want it closed.. let them pay the $$ back - that's what this is all about - and not expect the players, the Sox or MLB to reduce their take. I agree to let the astros decide for themselves how they want their roof, but... Why have a RETRACTABLE roof, if you always want it closed on nice nights. Permanently seal it, then. BTW, this didn't effect the Diamondbacks in 2001 when they had to keep their roof opened.
  16. JINX JINX JINX LALALALALALALALALA
  17. Sloooow down there chief! We haven't won anything yet. I make no plans until the fourth game is won. Remember in 2003. Cubs lost game 6 with 5 outs to go. The news stations held up the Cubs NL champs t-shirts that were going to be handed out in the lockeroom that night. They talked about the plans for the Grant park rally that weekend before the World Series. None of that happened! No jinxing allowed!
  18. I'm positive there was no alchohol involved in their demeanor.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 07:12 AM) Non issue. It aint going to game 5. Even if it did, I see this as a ploy to get the White Sox focused on facing the Rocket, then pulling the switch at the last minute.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 03:16 AM) Ok so it's Roy Oswalt we're up against. 12-2 with a 2.58 ERA in home games with a lower BAA and less ER, but he gave up 6 more home runs in home games, so he's susceptible to it, and hopefully we can take advantage of that. Since the ASB, Roy wasn't that good though. Had a 3.65 ERA with his BAA was .296, .62 higher than Pre ASG, so that also gives me hope. Lefties hit him better, with a .279 AVG, .32 higher than righties, and without Everett in the lineup, we're gonna need Pods and A.J especially to have good swings with the bat. He's terrible with RISP with 2 outs, 15.75 ERA, so hopefully that situation comes up a few times, and even if you get a runner on, a 4.68 ERA, so that's going to be a key, get on base anyway possible. He's pretty even ERA wise with his pitch counts, but with most pitchers you seem them better in the middle of their starts, say the 4th -5th inning etc., not really the case for Oswalt even though he's still pretty good. Up past 91 pitches, the ERA shoots up, so we need to work the counts and make him throw a lot of pitches. Seems to me he is a guy who generates his power through his wind-up and legs. Putting into the stretch may take away some of that power, thus the higher ERA with runners on.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 07:08 AM) It's GA in terms of the cost. Where are you sitting and did you get to request location? Ticketmaster assigned us our seat locale, though looking back I'm sure we could have went through our Blackhawk Season ticket rep. We were offered dinner beforehand in the Stadium Club of the United Center. So, that will be open, I guess. We are in 234. Which is where we wanted to be anyway.
  22. It doesn't seem as serious as the title of the thread sounds. Sore arm from not being able to get loose enough during the cold. Standard arm fare for a pitcher. I'm sure he'll be ready for Game 6, if needed.
  23. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) or.people.who.complain.about.people.posting.like.this.by.posting.like.this. Damn that is annoying to type I think it needed to be shorter to be effective. I.Agree.Texsox.
