  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) I'll go out on a limb and say that we won't see 50-50 happen in our lifetime. What?? You don't think Scott Podsednik can get to 50 Stolen Bases??
  2. Here is Dusty's exact quote in the Suntimes: ''They'll feel that because they can't use a big bat at DH, but we're at a disadvantage because we're on television every day. We're on when most teams are getting to the ballpark. They see us all the time. We rarely get to see American League games, so we're both at some disadvantage.'' He did go on to say during the pregame that they need to get a sports package to watch AL games... :headshake
  3. I prefer Shovin' a fork in the toaster! One comment on Texseox's massive posting. A lot of those terms seem to be implying oral sex and not masterbation... Great search, though.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) There's one with Buehrle and an Angel too. Is Roc (I'm calling him that from now on) the only one that's going to hell? Yeah, so far... Why is that?!?
  5. There's one with Paulie and an Angel, too.
  6. During the pre-game tonight, Dusty explained that teams, like the Blue Jays, who don't play the Cubs much at all have an advantage... They can watch the Cubs on TV. "We're on WGN, Fox, Comcast all the time...They can watch us and prepare" "We'd have to get a sports package, or something, to see other teams..." Oh Dusty.... :headshake
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,7434-1643498,00.html It deserved more...well at least for Eric Idle's book (script) for the show. It was fantastic here in Chicago. Plus another Chicago export, Light in the Piazza, also won numerous Tonys. Chicago: On top of the Nation in Arts and Sports
  8. I got this feeling Chris Widger will have a important role in a victory today. 2-3, HR, and 2 rbis. Sox win 4-3...CC stays perfect at the Cell by getting the ND as his bullpen blows the tie in the late innings. MB goes 9 for #8!
  9. QUOTE(Be Good @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) No thank you, i'll take a better hitter at 3B, like Huff 2005 Stats: Chavez YEAR G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS BA OBP SLG OPS 2005 54 213 23 49 10 0 5 28 17 49 0 0 .230 .288.347.635 Huff YEAR G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS BA OBP SLG OPS 2005 52 191 18 47 8 2 4 32 20 32 6 2 .246 .324 .372 .696 You could change that statement to "just slightly" better. Huff only advantage right now is his price tag, just over $4,000,000. But Chavez has the gold gloves. Huff hasn't played 3b since last year and it still wasn't his main position. Both are coming off of stellar campaign the last couple years. It boils down to who you think will break out their funk.
  10. Scouting report from Espn.com: BTW, he is 1-3 with a 6.40era with 6 starts against us. Some of those numbers could be from bullpen work, also. I like the fact he could be wild and allow a lot of basestealers. If our guys are patient, we should have a good game.
  11. After the game, there was interesting stat posted on the scoreboard graphic on the TV broadcast. The White Sox were the last team in MLB this season to bat around in an inning. I knew we hadn't many big innings like previous years, but...wow.
  12. QUOTE(owner1 @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 12:20 AM) I doubt you'll be back... Nice knowing you.
  13. The example that comes to my mind is the Seattle in 2001 7=Jeff Nelson 8=Arthur Rhodes 9=Kaz Sasaki Those were 6 inning games, no doubt.
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) Here's the article about Shaq paying for the funeral. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...n.ap/index.html "I'd like to send my condolences to the Mikan family," O'Neal said after Miami beat Detroit 88-76 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals on Thursday night. "I heard they were having some trouble, some problems, so if you contact the Heat office, I would like to pay for the funeral." Classy.. I was just about to post a thread about this... Very Classy... Say what you want about Shaq...but the Big Man just showed me his Big Heart!
  15. It's still better than the "LINE SHOT" action-film campaign of 1997. But then again, the White Sox were fighting Terrorists in that series of ads. I guess it all comes full circle!
  16. Here is an advance of the article. Interesting stuff, to say the least. http://www.vanityfair.com/pdf/pressroom/advance1.pdf
  17. Let's go Sox! Let's back-up that 17-7 April with a 19-10 May Not too shabby.
  18. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 31, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) Shocking. I always though Deep Throat was Hal Holbrook. Hal Holbrook was famous for his no-gag reflex!
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 23, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) I love Christopher Walken, but I can't imagine him as Hans Solo. This became one of the funnier skits on SNL when Kevin Spacey hosted the show. Here's the video of Christopher Walken(Spacey) auditioning: http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2399411?htv=12
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 23, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) That's a dumb question. They will, of course, partake in the eating of s***, just as the long line of s***-eaters in whose tracks they follow. It will be a feast of s*** spread across golden tables for their family & friends to consume!
  21. QUOTE(greg775 @ May 22, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) Has this made the papers yet? It's a story I'd want to read. That's crazy stuff. If he went nine yesterday we mighta lost two of three in this series. We can thank bangbus.com for the win on Saturday!
  22. This was just reported on the Comcast Pregame show. According to the Cubs, Carlos spends 4-5 hours a day on the internet and that maybe a leading factor in his arm injury. This lead to him being taken out after only 100 pitches in yesterdays game. They say it is not a pitching injury, so they are going to try to limit him to one hour a day on the interent. This is one of the funniest excuses I have ever read!!! Get Carlos a girlfriend and his "arm" should heal quickly!
  23. QUOTE(chisoxtime @ May 21, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) Scrub fan losers are bragging how they are gioing to stick it to Bmac and that he cant handle 40000 fans bla...bla...bla... Sounds like a desperate team graspimg at straws. It would be outstanding if BMac would outdual the Messiah!! I like your enthusiasm but you need to stay away from those MLB boards. They can be amusing, but don't care about what people post on there. It's all extreme talk and it means nothing. Stay here for enjoyable, troll-free, and informative posts.
  24. This is "fantasy baseball" thinking. Zito has been awful this year.
