Another Shade of '83...
We were chasing the KC Royals. They were in 1st most of the season until we caught fire in the 2nd half and blew them away.
We won by 20 games that year.
We got two hard-throwing Lefties in the bullpen with nasty breaking stuff (Marte and Shoney)
A lefty specialist (Wunsch)
and two hard-throwing righties (Gordon and Koch)
If Koch has straightened out his machanics and is throwing that 97-99 heat.
oh boy
I can't go Monday (my usual tickets), but I will be going Tuesday.
I'll get some players tickets late Tuesday afternoon.
Throw beer on the scouts.
The usual.
A big stick moving to 2nd in the line-up
(Fisk in 83, Carlos now)
A second-half surge like no other...
Mammoth Home-runs to crush opposing teams...
A solid, underrated pitching staff...
Keep the focus like they did in '83 and we'll show them what we are made of!
This is a good idea...
Considering Koch has been simulating being a pitcher for 4 months now...
But you are right...Getting him back on track would make us unstoppable.
Cooper worked out Foulke's machanics last year, Koch has to be open to change.
I wasn't implying the remainder of the schedule was easy.
I was stating that with days off, a fifth starter will only be required 5 or 6 times over the remaing two months.
Now I have always wanted us to go after someone for the 5th spot. But after looking at our upcoming schedule and counting the days off I predict we'll on'y use that starter for 5 starts, maybe 6.
Is that enough to send away more prospects for a Jeff Suppan?
Now if it was Kelvim Escobar...maybe, because he could easily go into the bullpen for playoff time and be REALLY effective.
But still...it is needed? Or is another hard-throwing set-up man needed to solidify that bullpen and make it 6 inning games.
Here are the lines:

This game is going to be TIGHT. I better see some good bunting and situational hitting.
God knows the Royals will be doing the same.
I think KW might be done looking for relievers. We did bring Matt Ginter up who was closing in AAA.
He will take White's role as soon as we get a 5th starter and release White
According to the guy on the $20 bill, the White Sox, Mariners and another team were trying hard to get Boone this morning.
But the Reds owner said no...for now
Is Kenny on some kind of sugar high?? He's going nuts!!
Go Kenny, go!
I'd go with Escobar too.
When, (notice I didn't say if...) we get to the playoffs he will be incredibly effective as a set-up guy or closer.
Maybe Toronto wants Billy back?
