What's the best seats you've ever had at the Cell?
RibbieRubarb replied to Marky Mark's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) Front row down the left-field line in 2005. Joe Crede hit a massive bomb (against Detroit) and I held an idiot fan back from stealing a ball that Pods was chasing. I could have rubbed Pods' junk. I bet you did and that caused his "groin pull" that year! -
What's the best seats you've ever had at the Cell?
RibbieRubarb replied to Marky Mark's topic in Pale Hose Talk
In 1995, My buddy and I went to a game against Texas. It was May 24 and a double-header. It was wet and misty most of the day. Since we had to work, we got there before the start of the second game. The usher told us they closed the upperdeck due to low attendance and that it was general seating in the lower deck. I sat in the first row, aisle seat, behind the visitors on-deck circle. My Buddy sat first row, aisle seat, behind the home on-deck circle. There had to be about 1000 total people at the game. We were able to talk to each other across the field. At one point, Mickey Tettleton jokingly asked us to be quiet as his teammates were trying to sleep in the dugout. -

QUOTE (sweatpants @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 10:22 AM) The Weather Channel. On Thursday afternoon it had 40% chance of storms on Sunday so that obviously changed. It still says Tonight: Overcast with showers at times. Low around 55F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%. Tomorrow: Rain showers early with isolated thunderstorms developing later in the day. High 67F. Winds ENE at 5 to 10 mph. I live in a Milwaukee burb and it's really nice out right now. Thanks Sweat...now let's go live with Jock Strap and the traffic...Jock?

QUOTE (juddling @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 08:56 AM) On an older movie note...last night after Burn Notice..I started digging through piles of VHS tapes looking for a movie to watch. I put in Diggstown (with Louis Gossett jr. and James Woods) and can't believe i forgot how awesome of a movie it is. i got to find this on DVD soon!!!!!!!!! Sure....you watched Diggstown. I will agree that Diggstown was the only movie in your pile of VHS tapes that you could mention here without being censored. BTW, Diggstown...great movie with a young Heather Graham. She got the part because she was dating James Woods at the time.

QUOTE (GREEDY @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 03:27 PM) What a difference a couple of weeks make in here I'll bet 6-6. Without Quentin this is a .500 team. You're right...they did horribly without him lately. I'm not saying we don't need TCQ, but our guys are stepping up and not solely relying on homers.

UP can truly be considered one of Pixar's best, if not one of the best of the year so far. Most recent live action romantic movies wish they has the emotional whalop in 90 minutes that UP has in its first 10. It is a glorious, thrilling adventure full of incredible images and characters that will delight any kid and adult. It is also one of the funniest films of the year. It is really a major achievement. Plus... Before the film is the teaser for Toy Story 3 which got the biggest applause from the audience last night See it in 3-d or 2-d...it doesn't matter. Just go see it.

Would you want the Peavy deal to happen?
RibbieRubarb replied to Marky Mark's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think this has been discussed ad nauseum in the other Jake Peavy threads. -
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 21, 2009 -> 12:04 PM) Poreda on Facebook just 40 seconds ago. Aaron Poreda: Man, this trade talk makes me nervous and excited.... Jake just make up your mind already!! It sounds like Poreda has been informed of the trade by the Sox. Which says to me the deal is done and it's all on Jake. We just have to wait for the official word from the Pads.
-
Scott Linebrink talked to Peavy last night and told The Score that Jake is not against pitching in the AL. This seems to sound like Writers sick of silence in the news cycle and are rehashing old stories as to why there is silence.
-
I still think this is all hanging on the Pads OFFICIALLY asking Peavey to waive his NTC. We may not hear anything to much later.
-
Post a link and prove this!!! I say BS. I haven't heard anything all day about this. You'd think we would have mentioned it here already!

This is so similar to the Freddy Garcia trade in 2004. We get a great pitcher, early (not in July) that becomes a linch-pin for a future WS Championship the following year.
