  1. QUOTE (GREEDY @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 03:27 PM) What a difference a couple of weeks make in here I'll bet 6-6. Without Quentin this is a .500 team. You're right...they did horribly without him lately. I'm not saying we don't need TCQ, but our guys are stepping up and not solely relying on homers.
  2. UP can truly be considered one of Pixar's best, if not one of the best of the year so far. Most recent live action romantic movies wish they has the emotional whalop in 90 minutes that UP has in its first 10. It is a glorious, thrilling adventure full of incredible images and characters that will delight any kid and adult. It is also one of the funniest films of the year. It is really a major achievement. Plus... Before the film is the teaser for Toy Story 3 which got the biggest applause from the audience last night See it in 3-d or 2-d...it doesn't matter. Just go see it.
  3. I think this has been discussed ad nauseum in the other Jake Peavy threads.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 21, 2009 -> 12:04 PM) Poreda on Facebook just 40 seconds ago. Aaron Poreda: Man, this trade talk makes me nervous and excited.... Jake just make up your mind already!! It sounds like Poreda has been informed of the trade by the Sox. Which says to me the deal is done and it's all on Jake. We just have to wait for the official word from the Pads.
  5. Scott Linebrink talked to Peavy last night and told The Score that Jake is not against pitching in the AL. This seems to sound like Writers sick of silence in the news cycle and are rehashing old stories as to why there is silence.
  6. I still think this is all hanging on the Pads OFFICIALLY asking Peavey to waive his NTC. We may not hear anything to much later.
  7. Post a link and prove this!!! I say BS. I haven't heard anything all day about this. You'd think we would have mentioned it here already!
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:04 AM) With that weather who could blame him? If he accepts, be sure to warn the guy in the cubicle in fron of you.
  9. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 21, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) So hungry for breakfast, but can't seem to pull myself away from computer............ Looks at watch... Late night, eh?
  10. This is so similar to the Freddy Garcia trade in 2004. We get a great pitcher, early (not in July) that becomes a linch-pin for a future WS Championship the following year.
  11. QUOTE (hogan873 @ May 21, 2009 -> 08:53 AM) I've always liked Brian Giles since he was with the Pirates. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Sox uniform. or out of a uniform??? You naughty thing. We know what you're thinking...
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ May 20, 2009 -> 02:28 PM) Got free passes to see Terminator tonight at midnight. Probably a mistake seeing I have to go to work at 4:30am. Lukcily there is a Dunkin Donuts open 24/7 in Gurnee. 4:30am?!? Jeez, how long does it take for Corn Dogs to cook at Great America???
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 21, 2009 -> 08:46 AM) If this happens today I will rub one out at my cubicle. Oh, you were probably planning on doing that anyway...
  14. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ May 21, 2009 -> 08:44 AM) Within the clubhouse, though, Peavy referred to the situation as “something to think about” yet also restated his desire to stay in the National League. One of Peavy's teammates said he believes Peavy respects the Sox's aggressiveness in pushing for him but may have reservations about pitching for Ozzie Guillen, the White Sox's volatile manager. A phone call from Scott Linebrink should clear that up.
  15. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 21, 2009 -> 08:24 AM) Maybe it's Peavy for Lillibridge. They may have to throw in some other stuff for that. If we send Lillibridge now that would be a good idea. School is ending and he wouldn't have to transfer mid-year. That's tough.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 21, 2009 -> 07:11 AM) Thing is, do we really want Peavy? Um...YES

  20. I can help you get started in no time. Just send the naked pictures you want up
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ May 8, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) Oh give me a break. I don't think people appreciate how good of a movie reviewer Ebert is. You won't come across it from his stupid star reviews or his TV show, but his writing is phenomenal. Even in movies he doesn't like he explains why he didn't like it and what was to like, or what people could take away liking from it. And he's a great writer. His actual newspaper reviews speak very eloquently about a film in a way a review should work, helping people decide whether to see it or not. He's had reviews where clearly he was not thrilled about, but written in a way that I knew I could like it. I love ebert. Well Said
  22. QUOTE (Tmar @ May 7, 2009 -> 03:59 AM) 38-22-38 You missed a D
