QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) Knowing KW and his manlove for the guy, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he brings him back. He's the kind of guy you build a champion around will be KW's reason for re-signing him. I really despise KW. First off..you don't know KW. Second, since you so openly hate KW all that he's done...who is a good GM in your eyes?

Scott Boras' intentions are in the right place. I like his idea of announcing the post-season awards before the first game like the Heisman. MLB needs to improve its marketing plans to make the Series and the sport more of an event...ala the NFL. But Nine games is a bit much...Here is the story and his other ideas. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-n...p&type=lgns Since it's Boars' idea does that mean the White Sox will choose not be involved in the World Series?

When Frank retires, I cannot wait for the game where they retire 35 and dedicate a statue on the concourse.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 01:43 PM) Good stuff. Hope it works for you. In the past when I've pulled the "I'm not telling" card I've gotten called some very choice things... "Doable"??

QUOTE(iamshack @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 10:44 AM) Oh come on. The Score reported it was done, or close to being done, but at least they knew something was happening. I guarantee you that AM 1000 and Bruuuuuuuce Levine knew something was going on as well, but wanted to make the Score look as poorly as possible in breaking the story and trying to scoop them. Thus, they get the most polar opposite quote (from Mark's agent) they can and repeat IT all day. So basically we had two radio stations yesterday, one saying a deal was practically done, and the other pretending as though absolutely nothing was going on. And both were dead wrong, and probably knew as much. They're like two stubborn kids refusing to share.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 10:31 AM) I am amazed the Offman still has a job after losing most of his credibility yesterday. Joseph Stalin would have had Offman taken outside and side for bad intelligence. Don't let Levine off the hook...He stated NOTHING is taking place while everyone is flying to Florida. The desiree to get the Scoop is powerful and makes men do studpid things. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) That is a real positive sign. If Jerry is involved, that means something big is brewing. The chairman only gets involved in the big stuff. Just like Sinatra...only got involved when JFK needed hookers! Other than that Peter Lawford took care of it.

ESPN 1000 just quoted Levine again saying "no new negotiations have taken place" Who will break first???

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 01:29 PM) 1:30 update time. Is The Score sticking to their guns? Offman is sticking to the story.

Wait...wait.... I thought Kenny Williams was the worst GM in the Majors and he should have been fired?!?
-
Mark has said if the Sox match the best offer, he will return to the Sox. But that's the rub..."the best offer"
-
QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) I'm glad that Kenny's the GM too. Because, if he wasn't the White Sox would be the worst team in all of baseball. Oh wait, they are. # 1 pick here we come. We're going to get the best available player in the draft....that isn't a Boras client or doesn't have large bonus demands. I am glad Kenny is the GM because since he took over our team has never had a season under .500 and we won the World Series. So I say he is already ahead of you as to who I give my trust in turning this around. Your GM desk would just have a huge PANIC BUTTON that would dump every player in the dugout at the first sign of distress.

QUOTE(Sox It To Em @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 01:17 PM) This team is old and declining fast. We have a barren farm system. A firesale needs to happen if we want to compete any time soon. If we're going to suck the next two or three years, it may as well be with developing prospects than aging, overpriced veterans. I would really like to know what better plan you guys have. That is not a plan. It is a delusion. You cannot trade away every player you have. This is not XBOX. We prefer realistic solutions. But if you don't...more power to you and the unicorn you ride into work.
-
QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) I suppose you guys are enjoying the 2007 season. I suppose you are enjoying it too... You have to be drunk. Seriously. NO GM will ever trade 17 of their 25 man roster for unproven players no matter their upside. Prospects are just that...prospects. Don't fall in love with them just because they aren't on our team.

QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 11:47 AM) If I were Kenny Williams, I would trade Konerko, Thome, Mackowiack, Uribe, Pods, Erstad, A.J., Iguchi, Dye, Crede, Buehrle, Contreras, Garland, Vazquez, Jenks, Thornton and MacDougal between now and next season for as many top prospects as I could possibly get. And we are happy that you are not...

QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) Is it possible that KW felt threatened by someone like Aaron Rowand? I am starting to believe so. um...How? Why? -
QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 07:05 PM) despite my postcount, believe i am depressed all day now would we be better with 1B Thome, DH Big Frank. That and a time machine to 1997, right?

QUOTE(Beltin @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 03:07 PM) BTW, while the teams from 1986-1989 were some of the worst in my lifetime, they paved the way for drafting the likes of Thomas, Ventura, McDowell and Fernandez as well as trading Baines for Alvarez, among others. Please remember this when people are wondering why we didn't draft great players like Detroit or Minnesota. It takes 90+ losses in a season to get those high draft picks which Minnesota and Detroit had in abundance in the mid to late '90s.
