  1. QUOTE(Wedge @ May 23, 2007 -> 11:07 AM) Favor: Can nobody post spoilers or even hints of the spoilers in this thread? This is like the one message board I can go to and hopefully count on not seeing something on the level of "Snape kills Dumbledore". I really appreciate it! Bruce Willis is dead...oops
  2. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 23, 2007 -> 11:57 AM) He needs to get rid of his "Bears/Ditka/Hurricane/Polish Sausage" accent and twist it into a Jersey one. He needs to get rid of his brain for a smarter one.
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ May 22, 2007 -> 03:02 PM) That might get a bit weak in 2 weeks. The hot rumor is that since Meadow's car is in the shop she will be driving Tony's truck and be driven off the road and killed. I heard that too. If you think Tony hated a little whip cream on her face...Well Then....the end would the bloodbath people want.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2007 -> 02:54 PM) A Steven King biblical ending... Interesting. The best Phil part of that episode wasn't all his bluster, it was him hiding in his upstairs room shouting down to the street at Tony like a jilted dumped high school girl. I wish the girls I dumped in High School just yelled at me from their window. Lucky guy. Also, my Meadow/Michael Corleone comparison from last month is looking stronger every week.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ May 22, 2007 -> 02:37 PM) There wont be a NY family to cooperate against soon.... I agree. But I don't think it will a gangland war. David Chase has always been an advocate againt those cliches. I think Phil and his NY crew will go down...but not with a shout, but with a whisper.
  6. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ May 21, 2007 -> 12:09 AM) Who did you have in mind? Too bad we have to wait 2 weeks before the next episode. Looks like it's going to be a hell of a barnburner. I bet there'll be some kind of cliff-hanger, to be continued... type thing going into the last episode. These new episodes, other than "Chasing It", have been great. I don't know. It was odd that there was a sudden change of heart and that we couldn't see his face when Tony went to his house. It seemed to me someone was in the room with Phil. or... Could Little Carmine be the one playing both sides as suggested in the preview and he is lying to Tony. Hmmmmm. I love this show.
  7. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 20, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) If we make the playoffs and you guys are still around after this season, I also want to b**** out this board as a whole simply for their loyalty to you p*ssys . Friday and Saturday proved that I have never seen so many Chicken Littles in my life, today proved that barring the offense will not show up again, you all need to take a deep breath and not worry so much. If we make it to October, I will not associate with a circle of wimps with a big vagina who have screamed "The Sky is Falling" 3 of 4 seasons. Period. carry on now The sky was falling in September of 2005, too. Many on this board were very vocal. Echoing similar statements to the ones over this weekend. "KW only got Geoff Blum?!?" "Ozzie should be fired right now to send a message before its too late" "Our hitting sucks" "Our pitching sucks" "This team will never win anything" "Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the 2005 World Champs the Cleveland Indians!" There will always be Chicken Littles just as there will always be those to are TOO optimistic and see nothing wrong. The extremists will always be vocal, thats in their nature. Just stay balanced and objective and you'll be a better fan for it.
  8. Someone's pulling the strings behind Phil...
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 19, 2007 -> 07:57 PM) The team is going to need to be blown up in July if this keeps up, and i'd be surprised if it doesn't (and I'll admit I was wrong if it turns out that way). And I'm not alone with my Ozzie thoughts, you have a bigger choir to preach to in defending him. A new manager is the biggest way we can improve right now short of health. I didn't say you weren't the only one around here with problems.
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 19, 2007 -> 07:49 PM) That is all accurate, and completely different from what the other guy was saying. He was basically saying i'm not a real fan for being unhappy (which is stupid), not that I need to put things in better perspetive Incorrect again. I said you can be disappointed and unhappy (all fans are, I am), but you go immediately to the extreme end of it. You aren't unhappy and speculating what the team can do to improve. No, you spit out absurd notions of "Firesale in May, Blow the team up, Fire Ozzie" after almost every loss. Thats whats wrong with you.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 19, 2007 -> 07:27 PM) Our guys are failing at the dish 8 times out of 10 though, not 7 And I love this team beyond belief, otherwise I would not deal with this nonsense. But I always have and always will. Maybe my standards are too high, but at least I care enough to get mad when we fail. That's what a true fan is all about. Please. We never see a thread or post from you unless its a loss. You crave the negativity. That's sad. You need to be realistic, which you are not. Two losses to the Cubs in May and you say we should blow up this team. Thats not being realistic, thats being extreme to the point of absurdity. Not how a true fan thinks.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 19, 2007 -> 07:16 PM) So I'm not a true fan for wanting to deal with mediocrity and having an organization that is nowhere near success right now? I love when the old farts call out younger fans for having a hunger for success and not being happy when things aren't going well. Loving a team means watching and following them as much as humanly possible and going to the games, and I will do that and have done that always. No matter what. So shut your yap. No..you love to hate this team more than you love them. Thats what's sad. The blind negativity is what makes you a poor fan. You demand perfection in a game where if you fail 7 out 10 times batting you're an All-Star. I'm not saying you need to grow up...just mature. Reactionary negativity is not mature.
  13. You little kids have no idea how to love a team. It either win everything or nothing for you. When we win a game it's "YEAH"!!! When we lose it's "Fire EVERYONE!!!" You are too bi-polar. You are obviously a young, spoiled group who grew up under a Bulls Championship dynasty. I grew up in an era where Chicago had NO championships for the longest time. Instead of savoring it...you spit it out and wanted seconds. You have no clue what's its like to wait your whole life for ONE Championship. You got it and you greedy, ungrateful lot demand 162-0 seasons since. Can you be disappointed by a loss...yes. But, there is a balance to being a TRUE fan. Big deal what Cubs fans think. They are going on 100 years without tasting what we tasted a year and half ago. I'm sorry...TRUE White Sox fans DO NOT act the way the unfortunate vocal ones on this board act.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 18, 2007 -> 11:15 PM) But it is necessary. I will make this antagonistic declaration right now, because it is needed and accurate. I have 2 thoughts for those of you who, after what Ozzie did from about 8 AM today until 4 PM today, still think he's anything other than a AT LEAST bad manager. 1. Your an idiot. 2. Go become a Cub fan, because only one of them could think anything else of Guillen after today. If we miss the playoffs and he still has a job after this season, I also want Kenny fired as well simply for his loyalty to an idiot. Last year proved Ozzie is a bad manager, today proved that barring a playoff appearance, he must go. If we don't make it to October, I will not tolerate a bad manager with a big mouth who missed the playoffs 3 of his 4 seasons. Period. You forgot to mention the one year we didn't make it, we won the World Series. You might have forgotten. If you are going to blame him completely for the bad times, give him all the credit for the good times, too. You guys crack me up!
  15. You guys crack me up. First you say that Ozzie wasn't the reason we won in 2005 because anyone could have managed that team. Then you blame him COMPLETELY when the team loses. So much to call him the WORST manager in all of baseball. (Boy thats not extreme) So, if I have this straight, when we win it has nothing to do with Ozzie or his managerial abilities, but when we lose it ALL because of him. Right? I'm just trying to figure out the double-standard.
  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) Can someone spell out Theroit's last name phonetically? pain-en-thee-AHSS
  17. Is this where the Legend of Ryan Theriot begins??
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:09 PM) Most negative prediction possible for every hitter, can never be disappointed but frequently proven wrong and pleased.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) Buehrle K's but I doubt Erstad has an AB half as good. I love the optimism!!
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 17, 2007 -> 09:13 AM) TRADE FOR VINNY CASTILLA!!! NO, TRADE FOR JOE RANDA!!!
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2007 -> 10:55 AM) AHHHHHHHH Why did you spoil it??? Cause I'm a naughty plushy
  22. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ May 15, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) Yeah I don't see it either. Tony is the top dog...he's the guy they want. Tony is the top dog in Jersey. He could give them the New York guys. Bigger Dogs!
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2007 -> 10:30 AM) ^^^^^ No doubt. I don't want my viewing spoiled by even hints about the last two episodes. SPOILER: The Professor builds a radio out of two coconuts and signals the mainland!
  24. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:17 AM) and these are the types of things Ozzie says that still make me love him. He may be one of the worst in game managers in the league, but he will never stop being funny. That statement never stops being funny, also.
