This is an odd and compelling story. I hope everything turns out well for him. It seems to be a physical and pyschological disease that he began showing symptoms of while he was in Oakland. Might explain his lack of effectiveness here or not. Still, I wonder if Beane knew before trading him. hmmm. Anyway, here's the article about it. Sad. http://www.ktvu.com/news/9264350/detail.html

Ozzie: Mack going to start more games in CF

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) Ugh. Of course everyone will love this until Mack starts giving away games with his D, then everyone will hate it again. Brutal idea if this is on a more permanent basis. Mack is a terrible CF. To be honest I would rather see them move Pods to CF and let Mack play LF. Would you expect anything else? -
YES I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND A WORD OF THAT YES

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 24, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Put Mack at DH and let Anderson roam CF. Brilliant idea! DH for Anderson and let Beuhrle hit for himself!

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:20 AM) http://www.rotoworld.com/content/clubhouse...MLB&majteam=CWS Jim Thome tweaked his right groin during Tuesday night's game, but he expects to be in Wednesday's starting lineup. If the decision is made to give him a day off, the White Sox will probably use Ross Gload in his place. May. 24 - 12:55 am et Did he marry a Playboy Playmate too? :rolly

Not to burst anyone's pessimistic bubble, but...WE WON. It Worked. We Won. Why dwell on "what if..."? You could do that the whole game... "What if" we didn't take so many pitches from Zito he'd still be in the game late and we'd never come back. "What if" pinch-hitting Rob Mackowiak in the 8th resulted in a strike-out and not a two-run homer? I am not against discussing the motivation behind the bunt, but the negativity after-the-fact towards a designed play that won us the game is odd.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ May 23, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) That was funny. My buddy Rob commented during the squirrel episode that to spice up the games they should get rid of the squirrel and have more beaver running around the park! QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) COURT RULING, Chicago Illinois, May 8, 2006 Chicago, Illinois (AP) – A seven year old boy was at the center of a Chicago courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with the child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the Judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Chicago Cubs, who the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone. Two shows nightly!

Official Cheer Frank Thomas Tomorrow Thread
RibbieRubarb replied to GoRowand33's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I will applaud and give Frank the ovation he derserves for his contribution to the White Sox. If you didn't like Frank. Sat seated. But don't "Boo". BTW, the difference between tonight and the night Jim Thome returned to Cleveland is the Sox have put together a video tribute and more for tonights game in honor of Frank. Cleveland did nothing for Thome. -
QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 22, 2006 -> 01:31 AM) Did everyone ignore Konerko and Crede's errors? Did everyone also ignore the fact that Uribe wasn't charged with an error? 1 bad game, people. Uribe has been rock solid in the field ever since he put on a White Sox uniform. God forbid him to have a couple bad months and a couple of bad defensive plays. Just like Brian Anderson, he isn't hurting the team. Every once and awhile, if you can believe this, a short stop might make a bad throw. Even major league short stops. RELAX. Don't you get it?? If we don't go 162-0 this team SUCKS!!

QUOTE(Brian @ May 21, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) Will probably need an analyzation on the whole Paris sequences. I need to dwell upon them more, but a quick analysis: Carmella commented to Ro that while Tony was in his coma he said "Who am I? Where am I going?" she then stated that she felt she was in a similar train of thought. Then when she was getting ready to leave the city where, as she put it in a cafe, "no one knows who she is" (like Tony in his coma world) she looks over and sees the Eiffel Tower, echoing Tony beacon, in the distance. And like Tony...she chooses to return.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 21, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Bmac in the bullpen, what is Jose's PC? He's probably just loosening up in case Jose runs into any trouble in the 7th. Ozzie would pull Jose before a "loss" can be hung on him.
