  1. Must've been some kind of wild pitch to score MO from 2B!?!?!
  2. Olivo is about to hit HR #2 of the season. I can feel it.
  3. You ever tried sportsline? I really like their setup and it's pretty close to real time. Check it out. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/gamecenter/l...20040413_KC@CHW
  4. That's what I like to hear. f***ing Cox Cable screwed up my Extra Innings subscription so I don't get the game today. Needless to say I'm a bit heated. I was really looking forward to watching this one.
  5. I'll bet there's some entertaining exchanges between Billy and the OG.
  6. From the Southtown this morning. Is this a positive or negative article? http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/ds.../pro/101sd6.htm
  7. This is why we need to let war be war. We cannot allow politics play a role in Iraq unless we want to see mass coalition casualties. There is no parallel to draw between Iraq and Vietnam except on the political level. In Vietnam our troops and commanders were fighting a war with their hands tied behind their backs. This was touched on earlier, but it's an important point. The Americans could not level North Vietnam due to the threat of the Chinese and/or Soviets jumping in the ring. We were forced to play by the VC's and NV rules instead and it proved to be a nearly impossible task. In the last few days we are seeing the same problem arising in Iraq. Although I don't see Iraq claiming anywhere close to the 58,000 American lives that Vietnam took, we are certainly heading down the path of an unwinnable war. Common sense strategy tells our commanders to level everything that they even possibly see as a threat, including civilian targets, being our current enemies are civilians, not uniformed troops. The effect would be two-fold. On one hand a greater # of the instigators would be dealt with and secondly, after realizing that the US is showing absolutely no mercy due to their inability to distinguish peaceful Iraqis from disruptive Iraqis, the peaceful citizens will be much quicker to identify the insurgents to coalition troops. But, as in Vietnam, political considerations are keeping Bush and Co. from treating this war as a war and are rather choosing to appease the global community. This past week is becoming the biggest failure of the GWB administration, he is abandoning our troops to improve his chances at reelection. Let em' fight, let war be war, and squash the insurgency asap using an all-out offensive with everything we've got. Each day we wait the further out of control we are, and the further out of control we are the more American blood soaks the sands.
  8. That's the way to go right there.
  9. Ummmm, isn't that what makes good pitching, the offense's inability to hit them???
  10. I'm with Brando Fan. That was one of the ugliest performances I've seen in awhile to still earn that line... He was constantly behind in the count, granted he was being squeezed a bit, the change wasn't there except when he got Matsui with one, and he had 4 BBs. The defense definitely came up big for Scott. With that said, considering he was pitching opening day at Yankee Stadium, I think he'll be better than many of us expected in the 4 slot. I'm not worried about the offensive production today. When the Yankees made all their moves in the offseason I never understood why Vazquez was being positioned in the #3 slot. The guy is going to be their ace this year, he's one bad mofo. I think tomorrow will be another tough go for the O, Contreras had like 25Ks in 16IP in ST with barely any runs allowed, not to mention the fact that he embarrassed us last season, 8IP, 0R, like 2H. He'll probably shut us out again. I'm glad we're getting these out of the way now.
  11. Going to be up in Chi-Town to catch the Twinkies game in May. Ordered seats and got SEC 106 Row 18. We wanted bleacher seats so that's cool but I'm wondering if row 18 means 18th row back from the field or if it's like some other stadiums, where the highest # row is closest to the field and row#1 would be closest to the concourse. Any help would be appreciated. It's been awhile since I've been able to get to a game up there.
  12. Definitely let Koch finish her out. If he allows two runners on then bring in Mr. Zero (not Marte being Beltran could be at bat).
  13. I'll speak now and say that I'd leave Este in the game until someone gets on base. His PC is still in the 80's and lower half of the order will be up next inning.
  14. Yeah, I'm down in Tulsa and it's blacked out here too. f***ing sucks...bad.
  15. Mys with 27 pitches in the inning, 16 to Frank
  16. Exactly. Stairs has had a VERY strong ST. Mendy Lopez isn't considered a guy that will tie up the game with one swing of the bat. With the way Stairs has been swinging the bat, there's a very good chance he could achieve against Koch. Blame should lie nowhere except on the shoulders of Damaso Marte.
  17. With JM still at the helm, yes, this could set a tone. With OG at the helm, I don't see this stinging longer than today.
  18. I hope that this game did set the tone because we looked f***ing awesome for 8.5 innings. You can twist and turn this s*** any way you want but this bullpen will not allow 6 runs in 1/3 IP every game. Politte looked f***ing awesome his first 1 1/3IP. The offense looked sharp. Marte doesn't give up 2HRs very often (i can't remember him doing that before). It was a choke job by the pen for sure, especially Damaso. He got burned by two close calls and proceeded to throw two meatballs down the middle of the plate on the following pitches. Dude, f***ing Mendy "Big Stick" Lopez hit a 3 run homer off of Damaso Marte. You think this is a sign of things to come? So does that mean Lopez is going to be an allstar this season? Give me a break. I was admittedly ready to punch a f***ing wall when Beltran went deep, but after giving this game some thought, I really, REALLY liked the way this team looked until the bottom of the ninth. I see a team that could win a s***load of games this season with a VERY potent offense.
  19. 20. I am firm believer that Jerry "the snore" Manuel was singlehandedly responsible for our failure to take the central last season. Throughout the year there were SO many times the Sox just looked like the walking dead out on that field, SO many times that he just made absolutely awful decisions, SO many different lineup cards, and it all translated into very few wins. I mean seriously, last season, minus the choke job against the Twinkies, ended on a decent note, the team was playing decent. But looking back at that first half, these guys were just miserable. I have no idea how JM wasn't fired in early June last season. If he'd been fired I can't help but think that we would have destroyed KC and MIN for the division title. Considering the talent that KW handed over to JM, there was absolutely no excuse that that team should have taken the weak Central. Now this season we're without our "stud" in Colon and without Everett. We're not as good of a team but I think that the fact that these players see hope again in Ozzie that most will perform to their potential. We'll see smart baseball again. Even with a poor decision here and there by Ozzie I think the team will pick up his slack and take this division.
  21. I thought you were glowing a bit this morning.
  22. I got me some booty last night.
  23. I'll agree that some of the blame will fall on GWB. Only because of homeland security though. I believe that intelligence is back on the right path, overseas. I'll also tell you right now that I can almost guarantee an attack shortly after Kerry is sworn into office, if that's the case. Kerry has been running his mouth and Al Queda will immediately test him. I'm no military planner, but this one just seems like common sense from Al Queda's vantage point.
