Left Oelwein at 10 AM, drove down to Cedar Rapids. We left CR at 11:30 on a Tri-State Tours bus, and we watched the movies Shanghai Knights and Ferris Buellers Day Off en route to Chicago. Once we got to the suburbs, it seemed like it took forever to even get near downtown. For someone who has only been there a few times, the area was huge. We got on the Dan Ryan and we neared the Cell about 3:40. Our bus driver didn't take the right turn, as she tried to go into the wrong parking lot. The bus was too short for a bridge, so we had to go around the park. It took a half hour and a trip thru Chinatown to get back to where we were supposed to enter under the sign by the Dan Ryan. We got in and we were escorted to the patio area where we took part in a buffet. The lines were horrible and so was the wait. $30 for a buffet, and most people only got a burger and hot dogs. That ain't going to happen again. We finally got to our seats about 10 minutes before the game started, otherwise I would have had some closeups of the players. I sat Sec. 110, row 9, seat 9. I got a nice view of the field, but it was hard to see to home plate over a lot of heads and people walking down the aisle. Frankly, I was a little a scared when it wass bottom 7 and we didn't have a hit. The park went crazt when Konerko hit his single, and the place went bezerk when Graffy went deep. When it got towards the eighth I went to the fan deck. The view was spectacluar, but it was really crowded. I prefered the lower deck and I got some kick-ass pictures from there. I went back and taped the final out of the game, and then sat back for the fireworks. They were spectacular and i took some video of those which turned out well. We got out of the park at about 9:30 and back in CR at about 1:45 am. I got home at 2:50 and started watching hilites of the game until about 3:45 when I fell asleep. It was a good day.
