Well, part of it is Jason's commitments I'm sure between Fox and if he's doing radio for the tournament.

And it's just as enjoyable to wander up to the Dodgers fields. The first time I went, I was checking Twitter that morning and one of the beat writers said that Sale was scheduled to throw on a back field that day. Was able to wander up and literally sit behind a chain link backstop and watch him pump fastballs and sliders. It's pretty cool.

Where are you staying? Lots of good food....if near Tempe and depending on your age, there's always Mill Avenue. When I went to Camelback, by far the coolest part was showing up mid morning and walking the backfields. Doesn't cost a thing and you get REALLY up close to guys practicing - from no name minor leaguers to major league starters. You can just sort of wander around. It's very cool. Can get great pictures, and there's opportunities for autographs if you're into that. I'd also check out other spring training setups. I went to an A's game as well since the Sox weren't in Glendale one day and I was able to get free tickets. Check out the Cactus League schedule. The Sox host the Colombian WBC team on March 9 and the Padres March 12, at the Cubs and Padres the other two days. There's also the occasional night game where you could catch one game or walk the back fields in the morning, and then check out a 6 PM start at another complex. Really depends how much you want to nerd out on baseball. Spring Training is really neat if you haven't done it before and if you have a kid, you'll never get a chance with them to get closer and maybe grab a BP homer on the back fields or something. I did it six years ago with my dad about a month before he died, and it was very worth it.

Ohio State quarterbacks always scare me, haha, its got me scared about the Colts and Stroud. They start watching in high school, but yes there is a difference between watching and studying, and all of that transferring to reads at the line and during the play.

Jason Benetti & Steve Stone back - options picked up

Clearly not enough people have been subjected to Royals broadcasts to truly appreciate Jason and Steve -

A lot of people don't want to see him get $12 million for DV allegations. -

Important parts from this article that people need to remember League policy prevents the team from disciplining Clevinger now. Therefore, the White Sox would not be authorized to discipline Clevinger prior to the completion of the investigation, unless the Commissioner’s Office transferred that authority to the team, according to the policy. Releasing Clevinger before the completion of the investigation would likely be construed as grounds for a grievance. -- So we will be dealing with this crap for a while. -
What I had heard was he's a phenomenal person who will need to put at least few more assholes around him than he had at Indy...almost had too many nice guys on staff

On a side note, I always get a kick out of mock drafts that are nothing but Power 5 players...as a Colts fan I always see drafts that are 2/3 Big Ten players and....that just does not happen

Mike Clevinger under investigation for domestic violence
Heads22 replied to RibbieRubarb's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I 100% do not want Clevinger cut, as it would guarantee him his money from how I understand it. If the process plays out, maybe he doesn't get part of it. I don't want to see him walk away from this (if true, obviously) with an eight figure pay day. -

Sounds like MLB literally could not tell the Sox. Also not sure if he will get that money, who knows how the contract lays anything out. -

That’s what I’m wondering because if MLB says something, the allegations are unfounded but it prevents or hinders a contract for the player, they have a different issue on their hands. still does not absolve the Sox of doing due diligence -

If the MLB has known about these allegations, either someone there fucked up or the Sox did. I wonder if the MLB could even let the Sox know? -

It’s hard to see a scenario where he takes the field again. -
