  1. Yea… that 99.999% chance at winning the division sure seems bleak.
  2. I will save my enthusiasm for when this team makes no obvious blunders during a game. With that said… Yay!
  3. We went 7 - 7 during that tough stretch while playing some of the worst baseball we have all year. We also saw some classic highlights. 5 of the losses could have easily gone out way. Main take away points: - This starting rotation is the most reliable aspect of our team. - It is very important everyone gets healthy, stays healthy, and comes into the playoffs playing at the top of their game. - The bullpen has to get right, the bullpen has to get right, and the bullpen has to get right. As emotionally draining and difficult as many of the losses were, I think going .500 during that stretch would have been considered acceptable as a question posed two weeks ago. Looking at the forest through the trees, you can see a lot to hope on for this club. There certainly are a lot of trees to get stuck on though. Finally, did I mention we have to get the bullpen right?
  4. If Kimbrel starts closing and Crochet gets the 8th, what are you doing with Hendricks?
  5. Bachette ( however it’s spelled ) has such a violent swing it’s insane. Can we move Hendricks to the 8th now, please?
  6. They’re also hitting like they knew what was coming last inning. I think Kopech may be tipping.
  7. Was that Blue Jay’s dude speaking to the umpire in requesting his flower delivery address of preference?
  8. Quote from a bleacher report article titled “The 9 Most Boneheaded Decisions of the MLB Season”… https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2947477-the-9-most-boneheaded-decisions-of-the-mlb-season.amp.html It was a big deal when the Chicago White Sox acquired ace reliever Craig Kimbrel on deadline day, but then they had the brilliant idea of turning one of baseball's all-time great closers into a setup man. Though the thinking these days is that elite relievers should be able to work in any high-leverage situation, Kimbrel always has been and still is an old-school type who lives for when the game is on the line. His career ERA in non-save situations is 57 pointshigher than in save situations. His ERA in the eighth inning is 127 points higher than his ERA in the ninth, in which he's only allowed eight hits and zero runs in 2021. White Sox manager Tony La Russa has nonetheless brought Kimbrel out in the eighth inning in nine of his 10 appearances with the team. He's unsurprisingly struggled to the tune of a 6.48 ERA in those outings, with one blown save and one loss. It's easy to pin this all on La Russa, particularly in light of the other controversies (see here, here and here) he's courted this season. But the blame for the White Sox's misuse of Kimbrel also flows up to the club's front office. In any case, they'd better hope the damage isn't irreparable.
  9. It would be cool if Othani won both the CY and MVP but that ain’t happenin.
  10. Yea… I root for the Padres but can’t bring myself to watch their games for a reason.
