  1. Myles Bailey Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 60 | Run: 45 | Arm: 55 | Field: 45 | Overall: 45 In 2022, Xavier Isaac was a big 6-foot-4 left-handed-hitting first baseman coming out of the Florida high school ranks, one who ended up being a surprise first-round selection of the Rays. Isaac has since reconfigured his body and proven the Rays right by being one of the better power-hitting prospects in the Minors. Could his path help Bailey, another 6-foot-4, lefty-swinging corner infielder also from the Florida prep scene? In some ways, Bailey is ahead of where Isaac was in his senior season. While Bailey is very physical, he’s more athletic than you might think when looking at him, while Isaac had to commit to conditioning after entering pro ball. Similarly, Bailey has tremendous raw power, though there’s work to be done for him to tap into it consistently. Some scouts feel he’s too stiff in the box and needs to change a setup that leads to swing-and-miss, while others do see some hit tool, but perhaps with a barrel that tends to be a bit late. Bailey’s surprising athleticism does give him the chance to be more than just a first baseman, though most feel that’s where he will eventually land. The Florida State recruit has seen time in left field and third base, where his above-average arm plays well. But it’s the power potential at the plate that could have teams interested in keeping the Tallahassee native from staying home for college, though some teams’ models will not like that he will be 19 when the Draft rolls around.
  2. Some things that are interesting about Miller-Greens stat line… he has a good strike out clip… less than 15%. He seems to hardly ever hit it on the ground. In about 50 games this year he was hit by a pitch 15 times and walked intentionally 11 times. ?
  3. I like the swing and love the attitude. Hopefully Jose Ramirez doesn’t knock his ass out.
  4. Maybe we have a pitching coordinator who sees something he can work his magic on… what’s his name??? Don Cooper, I think.
  5. But he had to have known… he did spend the entirety of Spring Training getting the boys prepared to “kick ass” ? Maybe he isn’t a great communicator and all the players interpreted his convictions as, “get our asses kicked.”
  6. I don’t mind it one bit. Hopefully they FINALLY learn the damned lesson and stop spending 2 to 8 million on a few scrubs rather than making a splash. Trade for a bunch of bats… sign a couple of pieces that aren’t in the Benitendi mold… and start developing. Tall asks… but anything with this fucking team is a tall ask.
  7. Robert to Seattle Fedde to Baltimore or the Dodgers Crochet stays or goes to the Dodgers or Yankees Pham to a wild card contender like Pittsburg or Kansas City Kopech gets packaged with Fedde or Crochet If they don’t get their ask for Crochet, keep him and try this rodeo next July. Offer a 6 year deal buying out arb and four free agency years. If he turns it down you get a kings ransom.
  8. “I’m shocked to still have a place here but thanks the Getzy and my boy Jerry, there isn’t anything I can do apparently which, you know, would cause me to lose this job. No one expected it but we just have to keep managing and know that one day, we will win. Our history shows that. These guys are professionals. They are fighters.” -Pedro Grifol
  9. Alright… f*** it. Extend Crochet until 2030 and roll to town with the three headed lefty monster. Trade Robert and Fedde and Kopech and everyone else.
  10. Told ya guys that I wouldn’t be surprised with Smith. Who was it that told me I was off my rocker when I suggested it last week? Oh… everyone. ?
  11. A lot of players are already returning to the mean. The production we saw in other cases will be replaced at a higher level with people from the minors. I really think we’ll be better in the second half regardless but don’t get me wrong: we are still going to suck ass.
  12. I count 5 - one of which has supposedly been eliminated ?
  13. We’ll be better next year. Hell - we will probably be better in the second half. It would be miraculous to be as bad or worse in the second half as they’ve been in the first half.
  14. Yes - this franchise sucks but we’re addicted… and one day, maybe while we’re grey and dying… we will bask in glory as a blind squirrel finding a nut.
