  1. “Fat chance” clearly implies that even this bottom of the barrel organization will not dig deeper to this level of incompetent “logic”. Soxtalk needs to turn into Around the Horn until at least Spring Training… otherwise we’re going to continue blabbering on about complete horseshit. I clearly am in a wonderful mood. Horary!
  2. The most recent podcast with Garfien explicitly stated that Boston’s existing MLB talent like Abreu was never even a consideration. We’re not even to Christmas yet and we’re already out of things to talk about… Our toxic collective addiction to this team drives endlessly discussing pointless drivel. My name is Trevor and I am a Soxtalk Addict. Where’s the inpatient clinic and residential detox program? TLDR: poop.
  3. They won’t be interested in Lux or Outman… unless the new shiny player development folk believe they can turn them both around… maximize their tools… and then have two high performing assets to trade instead of one. Fat chance.
  4. From what I’ve been able to see so far, “numerous roles”… without any specifics given. I imagine Getz will make it clear in January when this is expected to be formally announced. How depressing is it that our franchise is in such a deplorable state that this is the most deserving topic of discussion. It’s going to be a LONG winter and a slow ass march to spring.
  5. I’ll save other folks from having to get through the sun times wall… ” Nevin will be involved in numerous roles, including amateur scouting. The move is expected to be made official in January. It’s the latest new addition as general manager Chris Getz shakes up the Sox’ infrastructure, leadership and research and development operations. Recent additions include Venable, special assistant David Keller who is overseeing international scouting, director of hitting Ryan Fuller, bench coach Walker McKinven, assistant hitting coach Joel McKeithan and former coach and interim manager Grady Sizemore in the role of offensive coordinator.” There isn’t much more said.
  6. Don’t take it personally - there is a general lack of interest with this team for good reason.
  7. Highly doubt the Assblows would effectively trade Robert for Tucker.
  8. I would very much like to see this chap succeed.
  9. Lame. I’ll miss Vinnie… won’t miss Herb.
  10. Mined from the comments section of MLBTR’s article covering this transaction: ”Laugh at this move today, but someone investing in giving this kid a starting job and a season to see what he really can do is worthwhile. Look back at his playoff start against the Dodgers. Wilson has lights out stuff when it’s working, and is a great project for Bannister to work on.” Dude sounds like he is familiar with this Wilson cat - and if this sentiment is true, this is exactly the type of guy we should be signing.
  11. Hall of Fame Thread by a Hall of Fame List member.
  12. “… the Mets have reportedly been interested in White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. While Chicago likely would not give up the oft-injured but very talented slugger… “ Uh… ya sure about that? 😆
  13. If we get that much for Robert I will eat a soiled pair of underwear after the have been boiled in raspberry juice.
  14. Most informative post I’ve read on this topic… so now you know that.
  15. I don’t buy it one bit… if anything, I think it INCREASES his endorsement opportunities. The Dodgers fanbase in Japan now likely matches or exceeds their local base.
  16. Well of course they’re incorporating Gooch… and it’s yet another example of incompetence that the press corpse didn’t ask him specifically. Our ineptitude has bled out even into our media field. Shocking. I’m just a fucking peace around here these days. Oh boy. Yay. Go White Sox. I’m so excited. Yeppiee! Yahoo!!!
  17. It’s just going to get worse… on a scale you can’t imagine. Check back in after a week or 4.
