QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 25, 2011 -> 12:13 AM) The Lions defense absolutely shut Rodgers down in the first half. The only way to stop that offense is to get massive pressure with your front line, which the Lions did. The Lions shat all over themselves on offense though and when Suh got kicked out, the pressure was no longer as strong and the Packers capitalized. This Packers team is definitely beatable. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Giants beat them next week. It's a lot easier to shut down Aaron Rodgers while he's on the sideline where he can't do a god damn thing. -

"I want to apologize to my teammates, my coaches and my true fans for allowing the refs to have an opportunity to take me out of this game," Suh said. "What I did was remove myself from the situation the best way I felt, with me being held down. My intention was not to kick anybody, as I did not, removing myself," he said. "I was on top of a guy, being pulled down, and trying to get up off the ground -- and why you see me pushing his helmet down, because I'm trying to remove myself from the situation, and as I'm getting up, I'm getting pushed, so I'm getting myself on balance." lol I sympathize with Suh. This s*** happens all the time! A guy posted this on another board: "When I left for work yesterday morning I slipped on a patch of ice. I didn't want to fall, I mean who does, right? As I was slowly and awkwardly careening towards the earth, I was able to reach out and slam a passerby's head into the ground a few times, before finishing him off with a perfectly executed stomp. Thanks random pedestrian! If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have regained my balance." -
The history of Thanksgiving and just the relationship between settlers and Indians in general is pretty poorly taught.

Huntsman said something about wanting more drone strikes and decreasing troop presence. So, basically the exact same policy of the Obama Administration for the last 3 years? Okay I guess.

The interrogation of Oswald after he was captured has to be one of the most incompetently handled interrogations in history.

I'm totally in favor of bringing back Orton, as long as it's not immediately to start over Hanie. He has a bad rap as being a s***ty QB when he's not... it's just that Kyle Orton is the base model with no upgrades in every way. 4-cylinder, no AC, cloth seats, no power windows, no cruise control, none of that. He'll just get you to and from work, that's all. It's unreasonable to expect Orton to be able to learn even the basics of the offense in a week, in time to get him to start at Oakland... Hanie should be that guy unless he shows himself incapable, and that's where Orton comes in. We know at the very least that Kyle Orton is a capable NFL quarterback. He's not going to anyone's Pro Bowl, but he doesn't lose the team games either. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) Never even heard of this Rodgers fellow. What position does he play? He's like a nickelback or something. The Bears need one, maybe Thompson can trick Angelo into thinking he got a deal? -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 02:59 PM) I think the Bears should bring back Todd Collins. That would be cool. I think the Packers should bench Aaron Rodgers. That guy sucks, don't you agree? Holding that team back all the way. -

No s*** Jay Cutler avoids sacks and the playcalling is helping the line. These are things that are SUPPOSED to happen that wasn't happening before, because Mike Martz was calling plays as if Cutler was Warner and he had Orlando Pace playing left tackle and not Omiyale or Webb. Do people really think that Jay Cutler got sacked 11 times in 2008 because his line was THAT good that he had 6 second pockets on 75% of his dropbacks or something? -

The defense looked like s*** because a zone team was playing man. However, the Chargers had 0 yards in the 4th quarter. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 08:35 AM) And by the way, anyone who questioned Jay's toughness, you probably contributed to this mess. If Cutler doesn't have in the back of his mind that a significant section of the Bears fan base through he b****ed out during the playoffs last year, I really doubt he chases after Cason as hard as he did. no... that's just what kind of player Cutler is. He played that way in Denver too. This is the same guy who blocked Jared Allen on a play, and in the same game ran into a defender to get pushed out of bounds instead of sliding. He does that type of thing all the time which is why the "tough" s*** made no sense to me. -

Hanie is decent, and probably good enough to guide us through the cupcake part of our schedule without too much damage, but he's still not Cutler. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) Oh I don't disagree with what you're saying about the blitzing. I was just commenting on Peanut's play. Overall I think he was solid. My point was that he shouldn't have been in a position to fail like that. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) I was more angry about Lovie calling TO before Novak attempted the 55 yarder....wtf are you thinking? Oh god I HATE that. Icing the kicker is so stupid. I swear I've seen the kicker miss the first and make the second much more often than the other way around. That it hit the crossbar was luck. -

I don't expect many people to agree with me about the fake punt, but in any case at least if you want to b**** at someone about the play, don't b**** at Martz like I've seen some people do on Facebook. That's either Toub, or Lovie who signs off on decisions like that. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 08:03 PM) I agree with this, but it doesn't help that his safeties can't seem to get over the top in time...it's not his responsibility to stick with Jackson 40 yards down the field. The safety has to be rotating over on those plays and Peanut is more responsible for the shallower routes. That being said, he wasn't exactly stopping those either. He did cause a critical fumble though which really turned the tide of the game. On the last big play Conte took a bad route to the ball and didn't get himself into position to do anything about the play. Still though I wish he would stick with what works. There's no need to blitz Rivers if you're not getting pressure, we could use the extra guy in coverage to help Peppers and Idonije. -

My thoughts about that game: Edwin Williams did a solid job filling in for Chris Williams. He wasn't as good, but he was ok. No big mistakes or anything. Martz called a solid, balanced gameplan. It helped that Cutler was brilliant and could do no wrong today (not really reflected in his completion percentage for whatever reason). Williams dropped another perfectly thrown bomb from Cutler early on (again) but redeemed himself later with like 3 straight catches in a critical situation. Knox actually showed up to play too, he actually made a catch in traffic, and THEN he even tried to fight off a defender! Wow! But then, as if to make sure he limited the amount of props he would be getting at the game, he fell down on a perfectly delivered throw from Cutler that got intercepted, reminding us all he is still Johnny Knox and that's what he does best. Marinelli's gameplay was WTF. Instead of playing zone he decides to play Cover 1 and blitz Rivers, which wasn't working (Rivers 0 sacks and no pressure worth mentioning). Tillman was getting smoked in man against Jackson (not all that uncommon actually) but he stays with it anyway. So much for limiting the big play! Forte got shut down almost completely. Clearly their entire defensive gameplan was to limit Forte, every time he touched the ball there was a sea of white jerseys.
