  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) Id be more concerned if he hadnt started 40+ games in college. Carimi's pedigree and experience just blows away anyone else on the Bears line. As soon as he is healthy, hell be starting some where. I cant believe he isnt the LT, but who knows. Just like how many other rookies who make the leap to pro ball from college? It's an adjustment.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) He's very good for a rookie. The Wisconsin O-line from last season put 3 starters into the NFL and Carimi was the best of them. He's no worse than Jake Long who has been manning the tackle position for years. I think he is going to be a dominant RT and a very good LT if moved over there. I agree. He's just not there yet. The only way to get there is to play.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 08:03 PM) Yes they do to. Because of Sarbanes Oxley they have to write down the value of that asset versus their loan portfolio to see if they are still maintaining their capital requirements. It is why banks have gone under in many places. Something = learned
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) [/b] I dunno that this is true. The bank doesn't typically loan out money when it knows it'll lose money. If they loaned you 300k knowing the house would be worth 280k the next day, they've just lost 20k or more. If anything they might have been dumb to not realize what they were doing would create a huge gigantic problem. But I don't think they did this intentionally. Do they really? I mean, I'm still paying them money as per my contract and whatever the house is worth is irrelevant to them. If anybody is losing money it's me (even though it's not "money" in the traditional sense, but personal wealth definitely)
  5. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 11:28 AM) And I believe you also said you were not in danger of foreclosing. I am in your boat, sort of. Bought in 2005, put a nice chunk down from the sale of our old house, and as of about a year ago, my house is worth about 35% less than what I paid for it. I am not underwater, but all the downpayment and equity so far are gone. Correct... I'm doing everything I'm supposed to, can't get a break. I'm not going to whine too much, but some help would be nice considering the only people who DO get help for the most part are people who've made mistakes or done things they really had no business doing. Meet me halfway, help me build equity because right now it's impossible. If I could do this then I would probably keep paying what I'm paying now for a while until I build equity with the reduced payments. Yeah my tax deduction will be less but I'll be paying a lot less in interest.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 06:47 PM) Who do you think is getting pulled from the rotation when Carimi returns then? I understand why they'd stand by Webb...I just can say the same thing about the other 4 in their lineup as well. Spencer... Probably will suck for him and feel like a benching even though he's played decent, but Louis will slide back there and Carimi will go back to the right side. I can't imagine they will want to shuffle any more than necessary when they're finally starting to get some mojo.
  7. Carimi still has work to do especially in the pass blocking dept. Webb isn't going anywhere, don't get your hopes up.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 11:35 AM) Still better than Louis and Omiyale Omiyale yes. Louis is good, actually.
  9. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 07:36 AM) The program in question is for people that are current, and not in danger of foreclosure, but instead owe $150k on a house that is now only worth $100k. As or who to blame, it is always a mix. Government pushing home ownership as the be-all end-all to people who had no business owning a home, banks lending to people who couldn't afford it because sugardaddy government said they would cover it as well as the idiots buying $400k homes when they knew they should have bought less or who took out home equity loans to cover vacations and cars. I did none of the above. The only thing I did was buy a house about 9 seconds before the market blew up in my face.
  10. War is politics at a very fundamental level. No s*** it's politically motivated. Everything is.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 24, 2011 -> 06:31 PM) A significant number of the people who signed up for the HAMP program weren't in danger of foreclosure until they entered the program either. Just be real careful on this one...there's no reason to trust the administration to set this program up well right now. Don't rush into it. Noted.
  12. I'm in no danger of foreclosure. If I was able to do this I would lower my payments, but pay the same amount I'm paying now to start killing off some principal and building equity. Then, eventually, I'll be able to sell this place. Or at the very least rent it out without having to eat the difference (who the f*** would rent this place for what I'm paying in mortgage plus HOA fees?)
  13. Hey when can we all start calling Suh a dirty player? Is it enough blatant late hits and facemask twisting and not-even-close-to-legal s*** yet? James Harrison doesn't have s*** on Suh, seriously.
  14. I think I might've overreacted after the Detroit game, this Bears team really isn't that bad.
  15. http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/eco...oUCM_story.html Cliff's notes version: no negative equity cap on refinancing (before, it was 125%) with no fees, must refi to 20-year loan must be current on payments for the last 12 months with fees, refi 30-year loan, reduce payment to today's interest rates For Fannie and Freddie-backed loans I don't have a Fannie or Freddie loan so I guess I have to call my bank and ask. For me this is a HUGE personal obstacle. I should have about 10% equity by now. I have none, there is a massive gap between what my house is worth and what I owe of about 30% and it's only getting worse. It's not that I have trouble making my payments or made any bad decisions, it's just the equity hammer came crashing down on everyone and since I didn't have anything yet mine hit rock bottom and proceeded to dig. I can't refinance and selling this place is impossible. If I could refinance then I could lower my payments with better interest rates, and build equity faster to get out of this hole. Right now I can't really do that (salary isn't rising like it used to). Crossing my fingers I guess.
  16. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 05:12 PM) I read somewhere else today that the 12/31/11 exit date was originally announced as a target by W in the press conference where he got the shoe thrown at him. Somebody had that in their avvy for awhile. That was me. President Bush ducking Scorpion's spear
  17. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) How about when you see Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson? I don't mind Sharpton so much lately but Jackson at times makes me wish I either didn't have ears or was illiterate.
  18. Every time I see a picture of Herman Cain I have to decide between an uncontrollable urge to douche (despite the lack of a vagina) and bleaching my skin out of embarrassment.
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 06:14 PM) Don't be- I am just acknowledging other people have ideas and thoughts too and all should be respected. My comments and others like these are just as legitimate as your or anyone elses. Fathom am I to gather from your comment that these posts aren't done for anything more than to state one mans opinion and then blindly follow? I am crushed but I accept and respect your opinion and right to post it Post what you want to post. *shrug* Everybody won't like it and that's fine.
  20. I dont really understand this move, I was caught totally off guard by it too, but I'm not flipping out about it either. MLB managing really isn't rocket science. Stay off the short bus and I'm fine.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 01:18 PM) The Packers' secondary is brutal anyways, with the exception of Woodson. If you keep trying to pound the ball you were going to get stuffed anyways. If you take a look around the League, the premier offenses could give a s*** about handing the ball off the the running back anymore. The Packers didn't hardly bother to run all year last season. The Patriots are content to throw 20 straight times. The difference is, if you can't or won't run the ball, you need to throw a lot of high-percentage short passing plays to receivers capable of YAC. Slants, screens, quick outs, etc. Otherwise, your QB is going to get hammered because of the DLine knowing you are throwing almost every down. Unfortunately, Knox and Hester are either in the wrong place or don't have the hands in order to make this sort of offense work. Exactly.
  22. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) I find the fact that Jay Cutler can not move out of the pocket very frustrating. A Martz QB can't do that... have to be quick and precise with where the ball goes. Which is pretty aggravating, because when he's out of the pocket his QB rating skyrockets
  23. I don't want to hear s*** about the run-pass ratio. What do you want to do that for? So you can take another 6 attempts to have 20 rushing yards total on the game?
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) the optimist in me says 1-2 isnt a death sentence, and it can be overcome. but this has to be the bottom, they have to take the next step. The pessimist in me sees this as what the bears are. This is pretty much the worst part of their schedule, right here.
  25. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 08:56 PM) No that wasn't a comment on this specific game but on the only thing Bears fans can hope for for basically my entire life. Without a stellar defense, this team is dead because their offense is garbage every single year. Oh, yeah I agree. It's like they can never do all things on offense right at the same time. Strong running game, good blocking, decent receivers... no quarterback (the usual). Good quarterback, ok receivers, good running back... no blocking. Good quarterback, passable blocking, good running back... bad receivers.
