  1. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) The second link is completely f-ed up. They count a murder of a single deli clerk as a 'terrorist attack/plot'? There are reports daily of Jews being attacked by Muslims (and others) that I don't see listed under the 'anti-Jewish' plots. It only lists one against Cantor. They are cherry picking data like most people do to prove a point. The one against Cantor was being awfully generous... I remember that bullshiggity about him trying to claim someone shot at his nondescript campaign office outside of his district that broke the window and not the blinds because it was actually a bullet that randomly fell and hit the window. lol. f***ing liar. Cantor is scum
  2. With the division sucking as much dick as it does and as close as we are to the race, there is really no logical reason to be out.
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 11:03 PM) You've always had my back! I'm not exactly sure why though. I thought you hated me. You're entertaining as s***, it's just like "oh for f***'s sake, really? not again... omg I have to suspend his ass"
  4. (i've never banned Y2HH... for the record)
  5. I started reading parts of his manifesto, holy s*** it was boring. Not as boring as the Unabomber's, but still pretty f***ing boring.

    Smartphone Advice

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) Just got the Sensation. Do you guys prefer a hard or soft case for your phones? How do you like it? And which network are you on? I was looking at this one for my next phone.
  7. Are you talking about Greenwald? Even when I think Greenwald is being a melodramatic drama queen or an incessant drum-beater he's usually pretty consistent with his views on how the US media covers terrorism, etc.
  8. If that rumor is true, then I guess now I know what Amy Winehouse's drug dealer is doing now.
  9. Chicago to the east coast is a pretty boring trip... ugh. Nothing on those toll roads thru Indiana and Ohio, you don't go through any actual cities, nothing to see.
  10. The law doesn't take effect until 2014 so...
  11. The closest I've ever seen anyone (either on this board or really in mainstream channels) saying that radical Islam isn't a problem is people saying "all Muslims aren't terrorists" or not being in support of racial profiling. ...I mean, occasionally you will have a buffoon like Michael Moore saying "there is no terrorist threat" but statements like that aren't really taken seriously.
  12. Right-wingers have an entire narrative built around being the victim which is hilariously ironic actually. "Liberal bias," "liberal agenda," "government" (even when said government is right-wing), etc. Everyone's always out to get them
  13. Didn't read this thread before, got all excited to watch some baseball on WGN and I see America's Funniest Home Videos. I hate that
  14. Seriously I did pretty much assume that it was a Muslim terrorist group that did this at first, because it was... just... logical. The fact that it turned out to be a right-wing wackjob really did catch me off guard.
  15. Terrorists keep me employed, perversely
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 04:21 PM) At least that is a guy who is on his team. Dayan hasn't been with this group since March. My thoughts when I was watching that were: a) that is a really stupid question b) Urlacher isn't into coaching offensive players, least of all another team captain
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 02:06 PM) He didn't have to go off. If he's doing a weekly radio spot he should know the cliche drill well. Asked if Dayan would help or should get called up, he could say: "We're all excited about Dayan. We enjoyed working with him in spring training and last season and I'm really happy the young man is having a good season. I haven't followed his situation too closely because as you know I work with the pitchers and we've got enough to think about every day. We're all just coming to work every day trying to win ballgames. If he comes up that'd be great; if he stays where he is that's great, too. Blah blah blah. It's easy. What's he expect to be asked about on a radio show for a team that's underachieved like this one? Either play the cliche game or don't do the spot every week. Right. Easy stuff here.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 12:59 PM) Just like asking a Defensive Coordinator what is wrong with the offense right? Totally makes sense. In a postgame interview once Deion Sanders (who is kind of a dumbass) said that Jay Cutler is 18-0 when his QB rating is over 100 and then asked Brian Urlacher if he's ever pulled Cutler to the side and said "come on!" As stupid as that question is to ask a linebacker (does anybody really think Cutler or any other QB has games with his rating under 100 on purpose?) Urlacher's response was "that's not my job, I've got enough to worry about keeping the defense in line." Didn't talk out of turn, didn't create any controversy about him dissing his QB, none of that. Easy, too... Urlacher is also kind of a dick.
  19. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:30 AM) I made up that term, but the stigma still exists. A 2nd Lieutenant wears a gold bar as his rank, aka the "butter bar". And there's a definite stigma of "oh, he's an officer, yeah, but only a butter bar", sort of hinting that our inexperience makes us retarded or something. And while 1st Lieutenant is just an automatic promotion after 18 months, it pretty much erases that inexperienced stigma. To be fair, enough of them exist to have created the stigma in the first place, lol
  20. Trying to set up a rudimentary website off my NAS, and going thru the routers is really s***ty. It's the fact that I have 2 of them. Ugh. Actually thinking that for the most part I got all that together but for some reason my NAS isn't bypassing the "share" list like it's supposed to and going right into the "Website" share that I set up and it's really f***ing aggravating, it's throwing everything else off. Seeing if updating the firmware and a reboot are going to help
  21. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 01:01 PM) Maybe it's because I know how horrible the life is there, but I think the pictures of Pyongyang look creepy as Hell. Where are all the f***ing people?!? It seems like every picture, except for the ones of the Subways which are oddly the nicest I've ever seen, are completely desolate. I've seen pictures of highways, and monuments, and palaces, and temples, and just random streets on nice, sunny days, where there simply aren't any people. Any place in the west, such areas of town would be full of people frolicking in the sun and enjoying life. But not there (and there are 3 million people who supposedly live there). And then you've got the unfinished Ryugyong Hotel looming over the city, seemingly reminding everyone what a crappy system they live under. I don't know what you thought that city looked like, but it's sort of as I expected. North Korea is different from say, Afghanistan, where they don't pave the roads, and they can't seem to build the buildings straight, and the people look obviously dirty and poor. North Korea seemingly tries to put on a semblance of normalcy, yet fails. It's not a dangerous place as far as I know. In fact, follow the rules and you're sure to be OK. It's more just an extreme version of Big Brother/1984. And try not to blue falcon (lostfan will know what this means) your obligatory guide. I thought it'd look like an impoverished hellhole with mediocre architecture and crumbling buildings and infrastructure. It looked like a modern city, I guess I kind of figured it would look like the pictures of the Cuban countryside that we see here (Cuba is a place I'd someday love to visit if things ever changed to the point where I could). I don't know how they got all those things with their borderline non-existent economy. I guess the trade with China helps them out a lot. The picture I had in my head of Tehran looked like a typical sterile medium-sized Middle Eastern city with no personality. It's not like that at all. Then I forget that Iran/Persia is thousands of years old and it's only been what it is now for slightly longer than I've been alive and before that it had a lot of Western influence. They basically have everything we have over there.
  22. For s***s and giggles I looked at Brian Anderson's stats and compared them to Adam Dunn's this year. ...Anderson would actually be a significant upgrade at DH... I'm not joking.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 02:06 PM) Using your criteria, if your employees aren't getting the job done, they shouldn't be fired, you should. Its your fault. a. well, actually, yeah. Except if we're talking about, say, a business owner, their business will just fail. b. this criteria is pretty valid if we're talking about a supervisor with chronically underperforming employees compared to other supervisors.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 01:14 PM) Which means Buehrle doesn't allow his runners to score and Edwin does. No, not necessarily (shack beat me to it)
