  1. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 11:03 PM) Again the words out of his mouth making me laugh. You switch him and our outfielder with a -1.1 WAR. Does Ozzie even understand statistics beyond the basic average, home runs and such? I really don't think he does. Honestly. I don't think he cares, he's really "old school"
  2. The whole process went really smooth with Thibs last summer. Actually, come to think of it it was very unbecoming of a major pro sports franchise in Chicago.
  3. When Thibodeau got hired he was primed to be HC and had been ready for a while (maybe wanting him the first time is what's being talked about) and he wanted the job. And had LeBron come to Chicago after Thibs' hiring, well... yeah.
  4. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 03:38 AM) Signing up to coach the Bulls wasn't all that desirable a job for Tom Thibodeau at the time, was it? lol, how did you pull this gem of a post out of your ass? QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 05:54 PM) No one wanted that job. Rose aside, the Bulls didn't look that good. Generally teams with head coaching vacancies don't look that good, which is why the coach is fired and there's a vacancy in the first place. Unless it's Phil Jackson or Jerry Sloan retiring. A head coaching job in the NBA is a head coaching job in the NBA, and in the biggest basketball market in the country (it's not New York) with one of the best up-and-coming players in the league at 21 years old? Yeah I'd call that desirable
  5. Juan Pierre has spotted us an out and an E-7 in the event we have to start the game back up.
  6. My mlb.tv feed crapped out right before the HR... appropriate
  7. QUOTE (chiguy79 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) You do realize this is the same offense we have had all year...we specialize in not hitting mediocre pitching Yes. Same is true of about the last 4 years too
  8. That was a waste of an inning. Zambrano isn't really bringing that much, the Sox should be lighting him up.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) If you have hung on too long, it does get to the point you might as well keep it, but the Sox have other options. If it were only a guy like Jordan Danks or De Aza, sure you keep Pierre around, but the team is offensively challenged and Viciedo can rake. The other argument Ranger had was it was one hitter, and one hitter wouldn't make that much difference. I think Ranger is smarter than this, but disagreeing with the way the White Sox are handling things probably wouldn't be a good career move for him. Just metaphorically speaking... y'all get my point
  10. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) That was a sad AB. Whiff Swing at bad pitch out of the zone Take 3rd strike down the middle
  11. سلام Balta -- پل Konerko فقط به یک 2 - اجرا اجرا خانه http://translate.google.com/#en|fa|Hey%20B...un%20home%20run
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 08:19 PM) How do I say "got the runner to 2b" in Farsi? من دونده به پایه دوم.
  13. Well that was lame. edit: nm I thought Pierre got thrown out... that's what I get for doing Rosetta Stone lessons while watching the game
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 07:24 PM) Thanks for the jinx. I now guarantee Pena will go deep at least twice. Maybe 3 times. And Zambrano is capable of mowing us down. 2.) then none of them are good at their job, cause nobody uses that stuff. Hawk Harrelson?? He'd laugh in your face with some of these new mega stats. Hawk's resume as a GM does not qualify him to laugh in anyone's face.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 07:25 PM) The funny thing is 90% of people don't sell hoping their stock recovers. lol. Yeah. Everybody knows what they're "supposed" to do in that situation until it's happening I guess.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) Only thing I agree with SS2K5 about when it comes to LeBron is that he could have a little more to offer from the post. Especially at his size. But even with that, I can't classify him as an underachiever. If Lebron is an underachiever, every player in the NBA is an underachiever. It just looks really... strange seeing LeBron go towards the basket, then see the lane sealed off so he stops back and pops off a jumper. What the f***? He's like 6'8" 260 lbs, bigger and faster than most of the guys defending him, why doesn't he post up? I don't really understand. If he did that then he would pretty much be unstoppable.
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 07:16 PM) Sunk cost. 90% of the world understands it. The White Sox do not. Also the 90% of those people usually don't have someone to back them up with a fresh $5000 to start over with
  18. When you buy $5000 worth of stock that you realize is going into the toilet and probably won't recover, do you: a) try to get rid of it as fast as possible, to cut your losses b) hold onto the stock while it plummets closer and closer to $0 because you're waiting for a "return on your investment"
  19. I really feel like this game is just going to be like watching a couple of 7th grade girls windmill slapping each other until one gives up, starts crying, and runs to tell on the other one.
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 08:00 PM) Just thinking out loud but it's so odd that we're 3 games under .500 yet have a bunch of guys that can make a legit claim to be allstars. I looked at the projected All-Stars and remembered why I hate fan voting... Derek Jeter is slugging .324 (Juan Pierre is slugging .300), Alexei Ramirez is better at basically every facet of the game, and he's probably going to be watching Jeter start the game
  21. It's rolling the dice quite a bit to even assume that the Bobcats are going to be a lottery team in 5 years.
  22. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 05:54 PM) David Tyree, piece of garbage and former NFL WR: "anarchy" if gay marriage is legalized I like that David Tyree's opinion on gay marriage in NY matters because of one big catch. Then again I guess he's an expert at squeezing balls near his head.
