QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 07:27 PM) They probably won't have enough time to rewrite reactions, shows have already been recorded. Tonight: The Best F#@king News Team Ever covers the cover-up behind Twitter's most famous junk shot ^^The Daily Show's Facebook status from a few minutes ago

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 06:27 PM) Clayton has a 5.97 era this year away from Petco and that's in the National League. And even in a "good" year last season, he struggled hardcore away from home. He's not good. I'm certainly not as big of a KW supporter as I used to be but that's a trade you make every time. None of those guys were going to amount to anything and everyone knew it, we took our chance on acquiring an ace and unfortunately he just keeps getting hurt. I love how after a couple of good starts, in everyone else's eyes Richard was a future perennial All-Star that we gave up

Did Anthony Weiner's last name really have to be Weiner? It's like he WANTS to be mocked relentlessly. Daily Show and Colbert Report are must-watches tonight

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 10:18 AM) http://www.bostonherald.com/news/us_politi...orical_account/ Edit: She probably still overplayed his role, but the fact that there's some much hatred and anger over what she said just speaks volumes about the people that don't like her. Get over it. Geesh. If people stopped reacting that way she'd fade away and never be heard from again (something I'd like to happen). That's like... technically true, but I'm pretty sure he was detained and questioned by the British (who did not shoot him on sight because he was unarmed). Quite different from deliberately WARNING them. Also only a western Republican in 2011 would try to frame any part of the Revolutionary War as some kind of 2nd Amendment rights thing and ignore the part about the rebel colonies wanting to break from the mother country and place sovereignty in the people

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 11:14 PM) so you prefer the type of athlete that, at the slightest pain just gives up and says I'm done? That's fine if you prefer an athlete with that type of attitude. I prefer the type that doesn't give in and continues to work at it. Pitching is a violent motion and pitchers always hurt to some extent. You get guys like Prior who can't deal with it and guys like Peavy who try to work through it. You can have Prior, I'll take Peavy. I hate the fact that I'm about to have to type this, but I'm going to need you to explain the difference if both of them never pitch.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 06:28 PM) And besides the Decision and the short-bus celebration the next day, what exactly did the Heat do wrong? String along the Bulls? They could only choose one spot. I'm sure Knicks fans felt they were strung along. Clippers fans. Nets fans. Especially Cavs fans. As far as favorable treatment goes, that's been going on since I was in pampers. Superstars get calls. LeBron would be getting the same treatment as a Bulls if he were one. And I'm sure not many on the board would be complaining. lol, you naming off those teams is helping to make the point. The "stringing along" thing comes from the realization that these guys knew all along they were going to play on the same team since they all got tight playing for Team USA... once it was all put into context it felt like such a huge slap in the face as a fan. Bosh's cameras following him around and tweet-whoring asking people where he should go... Wade's "I'm gonna make a website called whatlittledotheyknow.com" tweet, and him faking like he was really thinking about going to Chicago because of his sons and coming back for the 2nd interview when he knew he never was, LeBron... doing, well, everything, although to be fair he handled having 6 interviews about as best as he could. When I realized they'd planned it all along I felt soooo stupid for missing what should've been obvious. Am I "over" it... yes, been over it, don't have time to be worried about it anymore. But it still doesn't mean I like it.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) It´s bad enough we have one on this forum, a bunch of them coming out of the woodwork would really be bad Seriously though, I don´t hate Bosh as much as the other 2, in fact, I would´ve loved Bosh here instead of Boozer, they´re both soft but at least Bosh could hit a 18 ft jumper consistently. lol. I"m not a bad guy

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 08:58 AM) I learned this week that Celozzi Ettleson Chevrolet has been out of business for a decade. In 2005 or so I was out west visiting a friend and we were going south on York and got to the intersection with Roosevelt. I saw the Roosevelt sign and that was the first thing that came to mind... but it wasn't there. Been wanting to see that place my whole damn life and it was gone. Booooo

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 01:25 PM) Also, slightly OT but LOL at Jabbar's open letter to Pippen. You have to love a guy chastising another player for lack of perspective when he has no perspective of his own. He cites Chamberlain's stats as an argument in favor of saying Chamberlain is greater than Jordan but failing to take into account that Chamberlain's stats were incredibly inflated due to the fact that games had 30 to 40 more possessions in that era and the players sucked and shot a lower percentage than they do now so there was a lot more rebounds to be had. He then proceeds to use Russell's rings as an argument against Jordan being the GOAT. Ignoring for a second that Jordan was a statistically superior player to Wilt over the course of their careers, you can't have it both ways Kareem. Jordan had 6 rings to Wilt's 2 so if you want to make an argument based on rings then Jordan blows Wilt out of the water. Also, against he cites Russell's rebounding totals as a reason Russell is an all time great. As I already pointed out, rebounding numbers were incredibly inflated due to inferior players and an incredibly faster paced game. Bringing up Russell in a greatest ever discussion is so laughable I don't even know where to begin. The guy was a great defender and obviously won an incredible amount of championships. But he played on teams loaded with all stars and hall of famers and was an average offensive basketball player. If Jordan played in that era he could score 50 in on a bad night. Wilt was also a giant during a time when all the other centers were like 6'6" or whatever. There was no one around who could stop him. Not that it takes anything away from his stats, but a little perspective. Also Kareem brings up the fact that there were only 8 teams and mentions the 8 championships... and there were how many teams then? Not 30. He undermines his own argument.
-
The argument is from a few days ago, but why's it so disputable that the 2010 Bulls were a better defensive team than the 2010 Heat? And yes, in the playoffs? They were. That the Bulls lost to the Heat is irrelevant. The Bulls defense doesn't play the Heat's defense.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 29, 2011 -> 11:42 PM) To you democrats out there, do you really truly like Obama, or are u just happy there's a Democrat in the Oval Office. Not to flame, but the economy??? Gas prices are outta control and socking my pocketbook! It's kinda both with me. Another Democrat really wouldn't be better
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ May 26, 2011 -> 09:27 PM) Are you saying Democrats don't do it without actually saying it? If so, are you that in denial for your party? Can't you just admit both parties partake in this bulls***? Because they do. There was an argument for several pages in here while you were suspended where SS and BS argued with some other posters about how much the Democratic Party sucks and that they won't be voting for any of them in 2012. But yes, Republicans are horrible

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 25, 2011 -> 12:16 AM) It usually never works. Simply because Watson can't guard a SG, he's just too short. Miller got hot because he had a midget guarding him to start the 4th basically. I have never seen it work, not once. I'm not even sure what it's supposed to do.
-
The Bulls managed to build a lead in the 3rd, then Thibs used that f***ing Rose-Watson backcourt and the lead evaporated in second. God I hate that lineup so much. Watson is an abortion on defense.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:53 PM) Please tell me you don't think I was serious? lol. Felix is my guy. No... I mean... I'm not really gonna read another 5 pages of "Felix is a hater" bulls***. It doesn't take much.

QUOTE (Felix @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:52 PM) Says the guy that just posted his numbers from the last 3 games. What were you expecting? If you think his last 3 games were bad, then you have to have an awfully similar opinion on his performance overall in the postseason. That's all I'm saying. Read who I replied to

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:50 PM) Shut up hater. Yeah not this s*** again.

Derrick Rose's last 3 games: 23/69 (33%) shooting, 2/15 (13%) from 3. There's not really any way around the conclusion here.
