QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:35 PM) I'd guarantee Rose decided to turn a legitimate play into some one-one-one, back lot, midnight game in Englewood play. It was for pride, and to make up for the first miss in the previous possession. Any play but that one EITHER TIME would've been acceptable. There was a reason the Heat switched LeBron onto Rose

WHAT THE f*** WAS THAT ROSE VS. LEBRON ISO TWICE AT THE END OF THE 4TH? REALLY THIBS?

Greenwald is spot-on. ISRAELI INTERESTS ARE NOT ALWAYS AMERICAN INTERESTS. Democrats are such p*****s and followers, too...
-
Whenever someone (usually a Democrat, sometimes an "oddball" Republican) makes even the slightest, most minor criticism of an Israeli policy or something one of its leaders said or did, they're immediately chastised and labeled "anti-Israeli." At the same time, it's funny how most of the people that do this (and let's be honest, it's usually Republicans) can vehemently disagree with everything Obama says and does but they don't feel they are being "anti-American" by doing so. Which, of course, they are not... so, something is wrong with one of those two things.

Why was Congress all over Netanyahu's dick today? What did dude say that was different from anything he's ever said? Israel is a completely different f***ing country... seriously.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ May 23, 2011 -> 02:03 PM) Athletes just can't be interacting with the fans in a negative manner. Everyone and their mom's have smartphones, somebody is going to catch the athlete's interaction with the fan. Dealing with idiots in the stands is just part of the job description for most athletes. People pay to see you play and will bring their idiotic comments with them. My issue with the situation is that the NBA seemingly was only upset because of a word Noah used, not his interaction with a fan. Sooner or later the NBA is going to have to pass out a cheat sheet of acceptable trash talk. The NBA has damn commercials out saying that it's not ok to say "gay" in the wrong context and been campaigning against it for a while, it's not like he was expected to take some huge leap of logic in the heat of the moment. This isn't rocket science. Joakim Noah isn't too bright. Cry me a river, and wipe the tears with $100 bills (he makes like 14 million a year).

I lol'd at this movie trailer line: "Call me when LeBron has six rings" "Is that your only argument?" "ITS THE ONLY ARGUMENT I NEED, SHAWN"

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 23, 2011 -> 12:44 AM) I wish I was confident. Bulls look completely lost on offense. They have looked lost for the last game and a half. It's funny Steve Kerr said in Game 2 Miami just doesn't have an answer and looked like this series was gonna be all Bulls, funny how things changed and now it's the Bulls who don't have an answer. I'm hopeful, but not at all confident. That also goes to show you how each game in the playoffs is its own game.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 23, 2011 -> 12:14 AM) Boozer certainly wasn't the problem tonight. He wasn't good on defense but he never is. I can live with that if he's going to get 17 boards. Joakim was on Bosh just as much, and if not for a handful of slick feeds to Boozer he would've almost literally done nothing. I mean if someone wants to point out "the problem" start there.
-
Just got done arguing with people about Boozer sucking and being "the problem." I pointed out that Boozer had 26 and 17 and he made 10-12 FTs and I was called blind or drunk for not knowing that he was the problem, and someone else said it was the quietest 26/17 he's ever seen. I'm pretty sure that counts the same as a "loud" 26/17, and if his 26 points were quiet, Rose's 20 were muted. Seriously, if Boozer can get those numbers in any game in which Rose plays the way Rose plays, they win probably 80% of the time.
-
This is encouraging... The first 6-8 weeks of the season were so demoralizing. It was like they couldn't do anything right.
-
Bulls play like s*** on extended rest... I don't know why. The 3-day break is the stupidest thing ever, by the way. That should've been Game 4
-
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 22, 2011 -> 10:53 PM) ya he's trying to will them to victory. just dropping his head and going in, not working out. Thibs said during a timeout that offensively they need to be patient and get set. They basically ignored him.
-
Another well below average game from Rose tonight. Doing his best Russell Westbrook impression.

But Mass Effect 2 is still the s***... it's kind of like "the standard" right now
-
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ May 19, 2011 -> 11:34 PM) I personally enjoyed mass effect 1 better as far as the rpg element goes. Mass effect 2 was fantastic but the rpg aspect was way toned down from the original. The RPG elements in Mass Effect 1 were really unpolished, way too many points and the inventory system sucked. It needed simplification, but not as much simplification as there was in Mass Effect 2

Greg you're projecting some here. For all you know and can see here without going back and reading posts, Cangelosi actually agreed with you the whole time about Thornton not closing. I'm in the "Thornton earned the opportunity and blew it" camp. Bobby Jenks sucks in Boston, and is hurt. I have not, nor will I criticize Ozzie for going with Thornton. He was the logical choice at the time. They weren't using Santos. Thornton was an All-Star so he was the guy. He pitched himself out of the role. Oh well. Not Ozzie's fault.

QUOTE (Tex @ May 20, 2011 -> 07:18 AM) Behind the scenes, mods and admins who do not follow the rules get blasted pretty hard by the others. One thing to consider, because we spend a lot of time discussing what is allowed and what is not allowed, we know where the line is and can do a very nice job of toeing the line. Speaking for myself, I have stepped over that line and was suspended for it. And please use the report a post feature when you believe anyone, including a mod, is ignoring the rules. ^^This Mods do get "in trouble" for being dicks it just doesn't go on the regular board. They get picked to be mods probably because they're less likely to do something like that, but they're still the same type of people who post on a message board with opinions, emotions, etc. I don't get any kind of "power trip" out of telling someone to knock off their behavior, suspending them, etc. I actually don't even really like it especially if it's a poster I'm really cool with, it's just that somebody has to do it so the place doesn't turn into a f***ing zoo. It's kind of a running joke how many times I've suspended Y2HH.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 21, 2011 -> 11:35 PM) Westbrook is just a massive headcase. Got the NBA's best scorer on his team but he likes to chuck up a brick every 30 seconds because apparently someone has threatened to murder his entire family if he doesn't.
-
Ozzie doesn't really look at statistical history... or if he does he just ignores it. A left-handed batter could be batting .500 against lefties and Ozzie will PH him for an average bench player because he's right-handed.

I remember when the Sox and Buehrle's agent had a huge s***fit about the some details related to the NTC and I was thinking it was so dumb and pointless to argue about since Buehrle's 10-5 rights would kick in before the contract expired anyway. I wish I could remember a post I made from 4 years ago on WSI actually explaining what I'm talking about right now... ah well.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 21, 2011 -> 08:25 PM) Adam Dunn does three things well: take walks, hit home runs, strike out. He's doing two of those things fairly well right now. Unfortunately, the aspect he is missing is his best and most valuable attribute. The whole idea of his strikeouts not mattering is based on the fact that when he hits the ball he hits it really, really f***ing hard. But... he has to... hit... the ball... I haven't watched a game on TV in a while, I didn't know fans were booing him and yelling "YOU SUCK" after every at-bat. A shame, because his golden sombrero was the only glaring negative in the lineup today.
-
Adam Dunn is like the Sox version of Kyle Korver... does one thing exceptionally well, but when he doesn't do that one thing, he's worthless and hurts the team.

Maybe both
