We need to pack the The Cell Tuesday & Wednesday
lostfan replied to sin city sox fan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 1, 2011 -> 06:33 PM) Haha, GTFO telling other people to go to games, then. If you're such a fan willing to give 110% to this team, find a f***ing job in Chicago and support them yourself. Otherwise, shut the f*** up with your "holier than thou" attitude, telling people they need to support the team. Seriously, what a tool. Well this was unnecessary -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2011 -> 06:27 PM) I hope you're seeing that in response, I'm trying to stay as close to what I can actually argue for as possible, and not go a step beyond what we have solid evidence for. Any time someone goes farther than what we legitimately have evidence for, then "this person is exaggerating the climate change thing" winds up being testimony before Congress. Oh I get what you're saying. I never actually said this = that in my original post.

LOL at this guy acting like someone owes him something or should've given him a heads up. I have a better idea: don't f***ing rob banks if you don't want to get caught

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) I know that, but I think you have to be especially careful with things like last week...tornado outbreaks were possible 500 years ago, and they'll be possible 100 years from now, and I've seen little to no evidence that "Tornado outbreaks" specifically become more common with increasing CO2. We've seen "incredibly intense hurricanes" and "massive precipitation events" (i.e. Nashville, repeated midwestern flooding) become more common over the last 2 decades, but we haven't seen an increasing frequency of tornado outbreaks. At least not yet. My point was: these things seem more common (the people I'm talking about lump all these events together) because of changes in weather patterns that have been predicted for a while now, not because God got all pissed off and decided to act like an angry abusive spouse.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 1, 2011 -> 06:11 PM) The twins at least aren't 100%. We are one injury from being fun bad. We're not fun bad yet? What's it going to take? -
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 02:39 AM) Rosetta Stone is incredibly annoying to try and download or torrent. I've gotten close a lot of times, but it always just craps out. The first time I tried it I got a bad crack and ended up with a virus. I figure that was my moral comeuppance for stealing

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2011 -> 02:26 PM) With some storms (i.e. Nashville last year, Katrina and Rita, the huge heatwaves that keep striking the north pole) I'll say the climate change people have a point. On the storms earlier this week, there's really no way to make the point sound correct, and they're better off keepign their mouths closed. This week's storms were a La Nina driven phenomenon, but it's a once in a few centuries la nina type phenomenon. Yes, the fact that atmospheric CO2 has changed is affecting every weather pattern, but there's no way to draw any sort of link on this one. The increase in severe weather = climate change cause and effect. Whether this last series of storms had anything to do with it or not

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 1, 2011 -> 06:02 PM) These two teams will still be the ones battling for the division title come September and the games played at this point could make the difference. I realize that not everyone can afford to go to every game....but based upon the crowds thus far, there's a lot of people who haven't gone to any games (or just a few this year). If the fanbase is not going to support this team, why should the players give a damn? Anybody who wants this team to give a 110% effort every nite should also be willing to give that effort as a fan. Because they're professionals who are quite well-compensated for what they do -
It's to the point where they lose and I'm not even upset anymore... it's pretty bad that it's April and I'm already there. It's not so much what their record is so early in the season, it's how awful they're playing and I don't see any end in sight.

Boston is so soft without Perkins, even if they win this series I'm not really afraid of them

When I first started message boarding on the big sports sites it was because I was in the Army and lived away from my home fanbase, and there were no other Bears, Sox, and Bulls fans to talk to. I felt "lost" away from "home" and needed a place to go, the first place I used this particular name was the Sporting News's website. I noticed people stopped asking me what the name meant when the TV show came out. It actually has nothing to do with that and I've never watched a single episode of it.

QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 05:18 PM) Don't do that.. just watch other games.. that's the glory of having access to EVERY baseball game that's on.. it makes turning the Sox off much easier. If I did that I would just watch Orioles games here and start going to O's games (I like them and when they suck, which happens often, I don't get so mad like I do with the Sox)

I meant to upload this graph a long time ago

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 05:19 PM) The economy in Indiana should see an enormous surplus within a year or so based on this prudent move. just imagine if they could stop all those homos from f***ing and spreading their homo viruses everywhere
-
I wouldn't say that I was "worried" or that this is "too much to recover from." This is the last day in April. BUT I am really wondering what's wrong with this team? They are playing waaaay below their capabilities and that pisses me off so much. I can barely watch. Absolute horses*** baseball. It figures that I renew my mlb.tv subscription and they start playing like this again... maybe for everyone's sake I should cancel it

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 07:21 AM) Ahh, the self serving, calling people out thread. I love the no pleasure, but I'll start a thread to tell y'all how smart I am. I'm closing this thread because it is stupid. There are enough threads like this already and this one is just jumping the shark.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) Beautiful. I Like it. Bears gave up there 4th rounder I believe. good thing getting rid of it before the NFL takes it away. lol. -
I really have to slam my face against the wall whenever I see religious conservatives talking about end times bulls*** and all these horrible tornadoes that have killed hundreds of people being signs from God, when this kind of extreme weather intensifying every year (and tornadoes happen every spring) is exactly what the "do something about climate change" crowd has been screaming would happen for the last decade and a half. Except they were being shouted down by the same people. Oh well, guess I better get used to it

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 01:48 PM) I hope that they draft a guard/center or a WR next. Kreutz was an All-American and was drafted round 2. They'll be very good Guards/Centers in round two. WR? Not as much talent-wise. Pretty weak year for WRs. They'll be able to get a DT, CB, or another OL, I think. -

Jerry Angelo f***ed up (as usual and expected) but Baltimore can cry me a f***ing river with that mock indignation of theirs. First of all the trade was never official, and it didn't happen, so where do they get off expecting to get something and the Bears got nothing? That's what a "trade" is, the Bears didn't pick 26th, they picked 29th. It was a trade that fell through, which happens who knows how many times every draft. Baltimore could've turned in their card when they saw time running out, but they didn't. They should know, they did the exact same thing to Minnesota one year. What did Minnesota get for that? Nothing. edit: yeah, so this was already said, maybe I should read the whole thread next time hmm? -
Word was on Twitter a couple days ago that 2.2 million credit cards with CVVs went on sale. I don't know if that's true or not, but if you've used your credit card on PSN please change it. You don't want to be caught with your dick in your hand.

Liberal bloggers/commenters don't really talk about Fox News re: the birther issue as much as you probably think. Obviously they hate Fox, but they talk a lot about specific people who bring it up for whatever their cynical reasons are (Michele Bachmann, Donald Trump) or leadership giving what the commenters think is a half-assed endorsement that the birth certificate is real (i.e. John Boehner saying "I take him at his word). Or, they spend time shouting down actual birthers who come onto the blogs who argue with them or get irritated that the issue is getting so much attention and will even say things like how even people like Karl Rove, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter etc. have been saying they need to stop.
