Bears versus Packers game thread
lostfan replied to southsider2k5's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Didn't realize this thread was here. Johnny Knox is a p****. He didn't even try for that jump ball, as usual, and then stood there as he allowed the ball to be intercepted. -
Oh my god Johnny Knox is such a p****. The next time he fights for a ball or goes for a jump ball will be the first. Then to make matters worse he stands there and stares at the DB after he lets the pass become an interception. I'm sick of this dude. The Bears need a true #1.

I'm indifferent to this.

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords shot in head
lostfan replied to Balta1701's topic in The Filibuster
Good f***ing lord at the last 15 posts or so before the brain injury stuff. Seriously guys. I'm going to lock this thread if I see that s*** again. This is just getting retarded. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 22, 2011 -> 10:58 PM) I have to get back in to Dead Space so I can be ready for Dead Space 2! It's funny, on another board I wrote that exact same post above (actually copied/pasted from there) and the next post after it was someone asking if anyone's going to get Dead Space 2.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 22, 2011 -> 08:51 PM) Huh? QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) Not all Android devices are the same, not all use the same screws, either. You do realize that it's all manufacturer, right, and has nothing to do with software? Android is software, it's not hardware. People have installed Android on iPhone4's. ^^I don't get the point of that...
-
Why the hell would you buy an iphone and install Android on it? When there are Android phones of comparable quality to an iphone?

I finally got around to finishing the first Assassin's Creed (Fallout 3, both Mass Effect games, and my Xbox going down got in the way). That game gets pretty f***ing hard towards the end what with those goddamn drunks pushing you and blowing your cover, the beggar women getting in the way, and taking 3 minutes to lose the guards when they're on to you. Now I guess I got to get AC2.

This article is really light on the science, surprised it took Balta so long to chime in.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 22, 2011 -> 08:56 AM) Pretty big shocker that Olbermann signed off one last time night last. Wonder what really happened behind the scenes. I know he received some of the best ratings for the network. I wonder if he'll get another show elsewhere. He's done at MSNBC?

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) I dunno how cutting money from the budget in this fashion isn't a positive on some level. Is it the best way to do it? No. But we're dealing with the government here. Every dollar is necessary will always be the argument. I'd agree with a plan that can look department by department and put a percentage based on that. Wanna talk about a campaign promise that has NEVER been done - "i'll go through the budget, line by line, and make cuts." It's probably too impractical to do that. One side will find X line important, but the other won't. We all know this is just posturing. But it'll (hopefully) start a national discussion. It's not perfect, but it's a start. This is because it's an empty campaign promise, something that is really easy to say but you find out is virtually impossible when you actually get elected and see what the spending actually is. Anyone who actually falls for this and finds themselves all pissed off... well, it's their fault they feel like that. Then they will say something hilariously stupid like "I'm going to balance the budget without raising taxes and I won't touch the 3/4 of the budget that is Social Security, Medicare, or defense, I'm going to go line by line through the budget and cut all the waste. Then you find out that was either a bald-faced lie they expected people to believe (likely), or they really did think that there was a trillion and a half worth of waste in the federal budget (very few people running for national office are actually this stupid).

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 20, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) Where was reagan at this point? In the s***ter. In basically the same place. I'm not even sure that Iran-Contra had really blown up yet.

The penalties in the first Packers game, it's not like those were ticky-tacky penalties. They were for the most part pretty blatant.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 20, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) Are you trying to say there's more important stuff in this world than da Beloved??? Blasphemy!!!! Bears! I totally understand that knowing all the Chinese diplomats attending his State dinner would be a tad bit more important. But from what I remember, he couldn't name a single Sox player and called it Cominskey Field. Just saying, if you are gonna play the fan like that, spend 2-3 minutes before the interview to straighten out a fact or two. IIRC he knew all the recent players and guys like Frank Thomas and Paul Konerko but couldn't name players from the 70s and 80s (makes sense b/c he is basically a transplant and moved there in 1987)
-
Yeah, that would be pretty fantastic.

This soap opera isn't really of Melo's doing.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 10:16 PM) The art of cherry-picking that Balta seems to have perfected. Oh I thought you were talking about what I just said, nevermind.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) I could take a few things that the Democrats have in their platform, picks some random Al Qaeda sect, and call them the same thing. That doesn't make it true. What the hell are you talking about? You're not making any type of sense. Did I compare Republicans to al-Qaeda or something?
-
The way you react is so disproportional to what I said. You made it sound like I use the word "Republican" as if it was the N-bomb or something. Show me the top 5 - hell, top 10 Tea Party principles on things like taxes, the Constitution, limited government, and property rights (as given in speeches, op-eds, TV appearances, essays, literature, political endorsements, and any other effort to publicize the movement, and not one person's opinion on what it means to them) and I will show you the Republican Party since at least 1980. It's like if you took the things that are most important to the Dems right now (f***, I don't even know what they are at the moment because the party is such a clusterf*** and actually managed to push some of those items off the agenda recently... public option, cap and trade, consumer protection, immigration reform, equal rights for gays?) and called it something else.
-
Yeah J4L that makes no sense. The Bulls clearly were trying to do that and would've done it had things broken their way but it was already decided beforehand.

Not sure if he said he's joking or not but President Obama said if the Bears are in the Super Bowl he's going. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AkIQ...obama-superbowl

New Jersey lost a ton of face.

I did get the dividends, it just didn't go b/c of the holiday. I'm not gambling, I know what I'm doing. I treat it the same way I treat my credit cards, I buy something before I have all of the cash, then I replace that money as soon as I get it a month or two later. It's not something I do habitually.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) I get people here very angry when I say that. It's not even a controversial statement.
