  1. James is going to want someone's starter money and he's earned the shot to get it, and he is not going to get that with the Sox
  2. Like a lot of people who grew up in the 80s and 90s I used to use that word casually because I thought it was funny and justified it by saying "I don't really mean it like THAT." But you learn better and you do better and I can count on one hand the number of times I've said it in the last 15-20 years, the only time I can think of was when I was telling someone "I used to use (that word)" and it felt like I was choking it out.
  3. I think I was at that game, iirc he hit the batter?
  4. Every time I see Jon Schoop I think of the Bears offensive coordinator from back in the day
  5. Dunning is mowing guys down like a machine gun nest rn
  6. I don't see what some other people see in Collins as far as offensive potential, what am I missing?
  7. Seriously, just look at this. Oh my god look at the WHIPs especially. 8. I remember thinking Ryan Bukvich was also as bad - Jesus no, not even close, Day had WHIP well over 2. That 2007 bullpen is the worst one in my memory, the starting pitching (except Contreras) was mostly passable but after 6 innings if the Sox didn't have a lead of at least 5 the game was over. If there's inherited runners ALL of them were going to score, plus a couple extra. All them had a ERA well over 6, it seemed like. Day, Bukvich, Macdougal, Wassermann, Sisco, Myers, just look at any of those guys, pick a randon name and look up their stats and it's awful.

    2020 Catch-All

It was in the low 70s today for the first time in about 2 months where I was, 2600 miles away, therefore this is not real because my unique experience does not support it #PostLikeAFuckingIdiot
  10. This reminds me of when he ended his broadcast career with the Cubs, although he was way more direct back then than he's being right now.
  11. I look at this lineup and I'm like "Moncada probably a .900 OPS player and he's fifth?" and... well yeah probably, that checks out

    2020 Catch-All

Pro: still have a job Con: can't really do anything, nothing to spend money on thanks to COVID-19 Pro: can use this extra money to finish basement sooner and have wet bar installed Con: Cannot actually have company over to justify this expense, thanks once again to COVID-19
  14. I think "whoops, my leadoff guy accidentally doubled or homered again" is a good problem to have
  15. I do think Robert projects long-term as a better leadoff hitter than TA but he is not that player yet. He still has some adjusting to do. TA is doing a fine job, and as much as I hate to use cliches like this, he brings a certain energy to the lineup and they're different with him in there.
  16. Ok I'm dumb, was there supposed to be a game tonight and it got kicked to tomorrow and there's going to be a doubleheader?
  17. lol Ricky channeling his inner John Fox with that non-answer
  18. I sleep in the daytime and this game will be probably in the 7th or 8th inning by the time I'm up
  19. Nope, he's all turned around now. Pitchers have figured out how to turn his aggression against him, he is gonna have to start laying off pitches to make them stop
  20. I was just thinking about Stone's old white ass bobbing his head to it and it made me think of my dad, and I was like "well, I guess it's possible"
  21. I do have full confidence he'll adjust fine, he's way too talented to be taken down by a single flaw like that. But the pitchers are killing him right now.
  22. He could also... just... I dunno, not swing at every single slider he sees?
