QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 10:33 AM) "KKK leader Robert Byrd" A good sign you're dealing with an idiot This is a really strong indicator that the person saying it doesn't actually give a s*** about any kind of civil rights issues.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 05:18 AM) "Nothing" is quite a bombshell. lol, people fell for this so hard.

Please bear in mind that the Lions are an awful team. Equally as bad as the Bears currently are, or worse. This is vintage Detroit, as we've always known them, before they got Megatron, Stafford, and a defensive line, and started flirting with the idea of going to the playoffs.

I feel like Bears fans have had this exact same discussion about QBs at least 2 or 3 times. I'm so over it.

Robin was a nice change of pace his first year seeing as how Ozzie had gone full-blown short bus on his way out, and he did a lot of things right just by getting back to the very basics. It was clear after that year that this wouldn't be enough, though. He was surprised he was offered the job and it kind of showed later, since he had no experience managing or running a team.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 30, 2016 -> 06:34 PM) Limbaugh made a great point today. Wolf Blitzer would NEVER EVER have mentioned something about Bill Clinton's indiscretions but he goes after Trump on this today as a gift to Hillary. Look ... Trump needs to all out attack the Clintons now. This is ridiculous. Everybody's jumping on Trump over Alicia. It's time Trump attacks the Clinton family about all of Bill's transgressions and Hillary's alleged making life hell on those who cheated with Bill. Limbaugh had some good points today about this issue. Limbaugh especially attacked Wolf. Bill. Clinton. Is. Not. Running. For. President. We'll review this again tomorrow.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 30, 2016 -> 02:34 PM) Amazing. This might be my fav: "Man wasn't even within 500 ft of the park. Dude was just chillin at home and peeked his head out the window." Equally as funny is the comments on that by people for whom the joke went over their head.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 30, 2016 -> 02:05 PM) Nate's model is intentionally ridiculously reactive this year, showing huge swings for slight changes. They also use the Google Consumer Research poll which no one else is using and they weigh it the most heavily for some reason. I don't recall him doing this "probability" thing in 2008 or 2012.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 30, 2016 -> 10:26 AM) I love how much Mark Cuban calls out Trump. I thought Cuban was just an egotistical rich douche but I can clearly now see I was wrong

Kellyanne finna take Trump's phone away again. She probably woke up this morning, picked up her phone, opened Twitter, and screamed "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 05:04 PM) That's genuinely awesome that you're that involved in your community. Ha. Seriously appreciate that the mods here are not petty at all and don't let their power go to their head just because someone is arguing with them. Never once been concerned that people would be unfairly or arbitrarily banned here. 2K5 would've been had half this board banned if it was up to him though lol.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 04:56 PM) Uh, no. Not even close. Back in the day (2008 or so) it was about 50/50, not anymore though.

QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 04:24 PM) LOL, if we didn't already have proof that they can blame Obama for literally anything, we have it now. McConnell had a strategy - do absolutely nothing, or at least do as little as he can possibly get away with doing, then blame it on Obama. It worked, because he wouldn't be majority leader right now if it didn't.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) Thats nuts. Its always pay to play regardless of how small I guess. It's not so much "pay to play" as organizing a political campaign, engaging voters, paying consultants, and so on costs money.
-
McConnell says Obama didn't communicate consequences of 9/11 bill IT WAS THE REASON HE VETOED IT, YOU STUPID SON OF A b****. HE TOLD YOU OVER AND OVER.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) Ah but this is the Village of Oak Park, not the City of chicago. oh, disregard. lol

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 03:46 PM) It will be under my actual name for the internet recognition. I've already volunteered on a committee, its about time I get my Mayoral campaign going. Running for mayor in a city like Chicago costs a LOT of money. That's how people like Rahm get re-elected, not because people necessarily like him so much they run to the polls to vote him back in.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 02:36 PM) I didn't quote you as multiple posters were talking about it so don't take it personal. It's just silly she talks s*** about Donald Trump and she's some deity that we have to bow down to. She's not campaigning for her husband who's the President, she's "campaigning" for a woman her husband despises because of their party affiliation. It's really a stretch to say she's campaigning for Clinton when she's really just campaigning against Trump and disparaging him. How novel of her. Donald Trump has 30 years of being a doof anyone with half a brain could campaign against him with no preparation. But hey, the kids are eating tofu so she's the best. Her speeches are 90% praising Clinton, 5% shouting out her husband, 5% trashing Trump. She's an active, relevant political figure who is the most popular person in U.S. politics. If not for registration deadlines, she could declare her candidacy for Illinois senator right now and beat Mark Kirk by 20 points if she wanted to.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 02:23 PM) I had always heard positive things about her, but then I looked her up and saw she was anti-vax and a bunch of other crazy things and yea, I now tell all my friends who bring her up not to vote for her. She has gone off the rails this election cycle as well from what I've seen. She doesn't know, or really even seem to care, how the government functions. She's not even an effective activist. At least Ralph Nader had a long career of doing that. Stein has about as much business running for president as I do.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 02:10 PM) Who cares about Michelle Obama? So, not to be a dick here, but if you don't care about something I posted, you can do what everyone else does and scroll on by it

As a general rule of thumb, coaches hired to rebuild should get 3 years, unless it's obvious it's not going to work out like in a Trestman-like nuclear meltdown scenario. Teams that fire sooner than 3 years tend to be perennially incompetent teams like the Bucs, Browns, or the Raiders from when Al Davis was still around. GMs should get longer than that, about 5 or 6 years. Had Emery not failed so spectacularly by hiring Trestman and had it not been compounded by passing over the obviously-superior candidate in Arians (who is also much better than the coach he interimed for), he would probably still be this team's GM.

If the Bears are now or in the near future considering starting over at QB I wish they'd get the f*** on with it already.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 12:27 PM) This. I've been reading this thread over the past few days and am in disbelief that people actually think Pace and Fox are the problem. This is Year 2. They inherited a horrific roster devoid of talent. Now, I do have a problem with Pace's selection (and trading up at that) of Floyd in the 1st round. I thought it was a horrible pick. But I'm rooting for the kid because we desperately need him to pan out. I don't think Fox is "the problem," I just never liked him. I still won't if the Bears win 11 games next year. Pace is not the problem though. He has added a lot of talent to the roster but at the same time, he's cleaned out the best offensive players for various reasons (deemed Marshall and Bennett to be cancers, didn't want to pay Forte his market value at his age). He's totally revamped the front 7, but so many of those guys got injured.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 11:56 AM) Also hilarious: how much the right hates Michelle Obama She's literally done nothing to warrant it either.
