  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) You dog. The friend in question (if you are on my Facebook you probably saw the infamous "swimsuit girl," that's her):
  2. So on Friday night I drove to Harrisburg (about 2 hours away) and I was out with some friends (who are all female, the majority of my friends are female, I don't know why). We had fun and all, but I got hammered, but the one who had agreed to drive us back started drinking too and she was being obnoxious about it (I got in her ass about that later) so I ended up not going home that night. lol not the best thing to do if you don't like your wife being pissed at you.
  3. I hate waiters/waitresses at a restaurant that don't know how to wait for a natural pause in a conversation and just start talking over you without at least waiting a couple seconds to get my attention. Yes, I'm all right over here, you motherf***er, thank you very much.
  4. I have to say I'm really impressed with TT lately... his "flashes" have never lasted this long and he's getting more and more consistent. Double double tonight so far.
  5. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 07:14 PM) It is annoying, but I have that set on my email now - because if I do get an answer I know they at least got the email - it's important in job hunting. lol. For one e-mail, or for certain e-mails yes, but for every e-mail you send me, no. In those cases I never send them back.
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 03:31 PM) The only reason they did it was because Blago's rating was like 6%. If he was more popular the reason they dont railroad him out is that they are worried in 2-4 years they wont be reelected. I was about to say this. They can do it when nobody wants to protest, because Blago sucks. If they would, they'd have to be retarded to do it, because the ones leading the charge wouldn't be re-elected.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 04:53 PM) Obama screwed the pooch on this one. Really no other way to see it. He set rules in an executive order, then proceeded to nominate multiple people who don't fit those rules. His choices were dishonest. We do not know if his rules have been applied to lower level people we don't hear about. If they are, good, but in a way that causes another problem - they see that the highest level people get to break those rules they have to follow. That will not inspire great loyalty among low and mid level staffers in the administration. That is a collateral damage item that Obama has also caused himself. He could've left himself more wiggle room than he did in the executive order, or at least laid out more specific guidelines for possible exceptions. Come to think of it, I haven't read the EO personally, maybe he did. People tend to deliberately miss things like that so it's entirely possible.
  8. Anyone who knows how extensive lobbyists' influence is in Washington knows that's a promise that can't possibly be kept 100% and should have known that from jump.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 12:24 PM) Link. That's a response to a pajamas media stimulus bashing session involving Joe The Plumber, Michelle Malkin, and Glenn Reynolds. I just laughed out loud at work. edit: and I totally plagiarized this for my Facebook status.
  10. The coffee I just had is ridiculously strong. Feels like the world is moving 5 mph right now.
  11. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 05:04 PM) There's been an interesting bit of etymological collision here. I just wanted to say to this word combination, and I'm totally ripping you off and adding this to my vocabulary.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 08:36 AM) I got $900 billion that saids that isn't true. That's the exception though, not the norm. I'm not a fan of big federal budgets and higher taxes, but I prefer that over a deficit and I think it's pretty clear the Democrats are more mindful of the deficit than the Republicans are (no matter how much lip service they pay to it, Republican actions are consistent and well-documented).
  13. QUOTE (Texsox @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 08:33 AM) Yep. Democrats want to actually pay for what services the government provides. Republicans want to borrow the money today in hopes that down the road we will pay back the deficit (and the interest). Socialist!
  14. I don't think you can make any comparison whatsoever between Fisk and Crede, World Series or not.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 09:45 AM) I think he meant logistically. Afghanistan's borders include Iran, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Tadzhikistan, China (but that border is very small and in very rugged terrain, in the Hindu Kush), and possibly India via the Kashmir (but I am not sure the parts of Kashmir along that border are India's). None of those are particularly attractive countries for cooperation, except India, and I am not sure they actually control those borders. Yeah, Kashmir is a mess. Even if India wanted to be able to do something to cooperate logistically I'm pretty sure they couldn't. You left out Uzbekistan btw.
  16. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) This is great; gotta remember to nominate it for 2009 Thread of the Year Tex's first thread was pretty hilarious too, it died for some reason.
  17. Sounds to me like neither one of them should be pointing fingers at anyone
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 01:50 PM) So in the most literal and surface sense, yes, the Surge was a small effect. But talking about the broader changes, it had a large and important effect. This may or may not have a lasting effect as the US draws down - that is hard to say. But it gives them a much better chance of succeeding independent of the US. It better, because if it doesn't after all we've done, it pretty much never will. We can only do so much.
  19. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 01:43 PM) The biggest problem is the second we lower troop levels in Iraq it will go back to being the way it was in 05. The surge really hasn't done anything. It's not that, it's that the surge was wrongly credited for the other factors that led to all the changes by a lot of people. The surge was one of like 4-5 factors.
  20. QUOTE (mreye @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 01:03 PM) Yeah, I get that, but I still don't like it. It's like the people of my church voting down an usher and then we introduce him as our new Deacon. (No, we don't vote for ushers. Just saying) Different circumstances though. Assuming he wasn't appointed for a Cabinet appointment and he had to be elected to head HHS (and also assuming that wouldn't be a mess), who's to say he doesn't win that election?
  21. QUOTE (mreye @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 12:52 PM) Just to throw this in the mix as well: I disagree with the pick of Daschle on different grounds...if the people of South Dakota didn't want him to represent them anymore, why should he be elevated to a position of leadership for the entire United States? The president thought he was the best man for a job and a specific goal he had in mind.
  22. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 11:24 AM) I've been trying to avoid all reviews for Killzone. I don't want to be let down from unattainable expectations. GTA 4 anyone?
  23. So conservatives aren't done calling Dems unpatriotic I guess.
