  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 01:30 PM) I'll agree with you on that call, but frankly, it was no where near the worst example of that call that we've seen. They over-call that foul whether it's correct or not, and defenders need to keep it in mind. Normally what the defenders do is reach out and grab the QBs shoulders while slowing down or wrap him up to steady themselves, and the refs won't call it that. In the one from this game, he was slowing down (couldn't stop obviously) and gave Ben a little push, IIRC. It wasn't intentional and I wish the refs would at least make a half-assed attempt to recognize the distinction between blatant late hits and Newton's laws.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 12:46 PM) I think there's a different way to look at it...the refs might have made or missed a couple calls, but overall, it was a really poorly played game, by both sides. For every penalty that was questionably called (the big one in my eyes was the roughing the passer) there was another one or two that weren't called. Arizona in particular really cost themselves with the holding calls. I think it was more a poorly played game than a poorly officiated game. At this level, you can't put the game in the hands of the officials. I noticed the Steeler OL was holding a lot, because they were getting their asses handed to them every other play. That was some really atrocious play, the Steelers' OL is horrible but Ben covered for them as usual. If Ben doesn't slip all those tackles the way he is capable, the Steelers lose that game. Harrison got held a couple times too. But really there's holding in every game so I don't complain about those non-calls. Really what gets me mad is the roughing the passer calls, ugh do I hate that.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 12:01 PM) See my post above. I prefer suddenly tossing her so I can hear the thud when her feet hit the ground, then making fun of her for being fat. If she could understand English she would really have self-esteem issues from all the various fat jokes and names I call her (fatty, tubby, jiggly, tub of lard, fatbody, etc.), at least she's kinda cute.
  4. I've heard, but have not confirmed, that they actually did review the play quickly but the TV crew dropped the ball. But I'm not completely buying it since a review takes at least a couple minutes to make sure it's right.
  5. I have a cat that I had since she was a kitten and I didn't stop her from playing rough then. Now she always wants to play, but she can't do it without digging her claws into my hand and biting hard. It's really annoying and I can't stop her now.
  6. Damn I was hoping nobody was going to notice. Happy b-day to the other people that share my birthday.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 01:30 AM) Other than not reviewing Warner's last pass (I thought it was a fumble), the officiating was fine. All the Cardinals D had to do, much like the Patriots D last year, was get ONE stop. That's it. And the title was theirs. You give up an 80-yard TD drive in just over two minutes in that situation? Nobody to blame but themselves. The officiating didn't effect the outcome of the game, but it was still really bad.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Feb 1, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) What do you want them to review? His arm was hit and the ball was jarred loose...all while the ball was behind his head. Not really the point though, the point is they should've reviewed it just on principle. It probably would've been upheld, but still.
  9. I wasn't home to comment in this thread while the game was going on and I have nothing against the Steelers, but the officiating was f***ing horrendous during this game.
  10. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 04:25 AM) Probably my least favorite Sox player of all time, which is saying a lot. Juanito, andate a la mierda, pendejo. What does "andate" mean? I know what the rest means.
  11. I fell asleep angry during the Cardinals game. Woke up ready to go to work, picked up my laptop next to my bed, and saw plastered on the front page of Yahoo something about the Bears and a historic MNF win. WTF.

    Polydactyly

I have this actually. I mean, I only have 10 fingers (I dunno about the toes), but I was born with 12, the other one started on the middle of my pinky finger when I was born. They remove it by wrapping a cord around it tightly and it falls off a few days later the same way an umbilical cord does.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 05:56 PM) Sarah Palin was the best Republican VP candidate in the last 10 years. I would take her over Darth Vader because compared to him she's harmless. But who was Dole's? I forgot.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) I thought the media went after Palin because she was unqualified to be Vice President, and as we found out later, didn't know simple things like the fact Africa is a continent. I think the media's rush to deify Obama was pretty laughable, but I don't think they necesarily ripped on McCain/Palin unfairly. I obviously think she was a joke, but the whole africa is a country thing is just the mccaain campaign folks talking s***. I'm sure she isn't THAT stupid.
  15. I'm a bigger football fan than a baseball fan and always have been, although my interest in the NFL is gradually waning.
  16. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 11:32 PM) Would that really be considered good though? .345 OBP, .350 SLG (if we're lucky), that would be good for Owens but it's still not a good player. That's plenty fine actually, for most teams. Jesus. Who do you want there instead? Curtis Granderson? Hanley Ramirez? So do I. Where do you suggest KW finds one?
  17. QUOTE (Cubano @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 12:14 AM) Is there any Democrat that pays taxes? If you look at a map of red vs. blue states you see that all of the industrialized money-making states are where the revenue comes from. Northeast, mid-Atlantic, Rust Belt, Chicago, Milwaukee, west coast. That's about 2/3 of the tax revenue and all of those are heavily Democratic. There's a disproportionate amount of economists who are registered Democrats too. I used to be a registered Democrat, not anymore, but I still lean that way.
  18. QUOTE (Cubano @ Jan 31, 2009 -> 12:32 AM) I rather have somebody denying that clothing controversy as oppose as having somebody representing the USA after saying she never felt proud to be an American. How about that Harvard degree? How about that money you made in the USA? Somebody is little confused. Michelle, Michelle go oversees and live w/o your American dollars. Then, tell me you are not proud to be an American. She's... not... holding... any political office...
  19. On XBL I'm youarenotrede (tell me who you are, though).
  20. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) Probably not. I know FOX has had a ratings boom, I would suspect Limbaugh may be up in the ratings as well. Rush does love this attention though; makes him feel important when the president is calling him out. Yeah Obama really didn't do himself any favors singling out Rush by name. I bet Rush jizzed in his pants when he heard that.
  21. That's good news for Republicans. Steele's pretty respected and seems to "get it."
  22. BS's article did hit on a good point though, it's not really fair to take reviews from gamer sites on Wii games because Wii's target audience is so different, and third party developers haven't figured out how to market these games yet and are still putting ads on gaming sites and magazines.
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) Once the Financials become the leader again What I don't understand about that post is that it was preceded by one that said "let the banks fail." I thought about mentioning that but I'm sure I already know what the answer would be.
