Yeah, I was really not happy with the way he handled that scandal, if you can even call it a scandal if they didn't do anything wrong.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 24, 2008 -> 08:24 AM) And if you read only the liberal blogs you'd think the Minnesota recount was handled fabulously. How many liberal blogs do you read? I'm not trying to snipe, honest question.

The $5 a month for Xbox Live isn't really that big of a deal, people always point out that it's $50 for the year, but it's not something you buy all at once. And it's not like you're paying for crap either, XBL is great.

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 10:43 PM) Again how is being ranked close to last in just about every offensive statistic considered mediocre. Ill tell you what, if this offense truly was mediocre our defense would look a TON better, as it is like you said they ranked in top3. Im not going to argue anymore, I just dont understand how outside of two games, one vs an 0-15 team and the other we still turned the ball over a ton, you can consider the offense overachieving. Because you're nitpicking my choice of words, so it all sounds pretty ridiculous. Is it that important to argue about? Really? -

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) No, he snubbed DePaul and the Illini for Memphis. I actually like Rose. Would've preferred OJ, but Rose is pretty darn nice. On another note, anyone hate the Bulls wearing the black socks and shoes? That's supposed to be playoff tradition. We might as well allow headbands again. I'm a strict traditionalist, so yeah. I totally forgot Iverson plays for Detroit now, I feel kinda dumb. -

The last time I looked at Hester's numbers he was waaaaaaaaay down in averages. Not even close to the top. Which Tank Johnson were you watching? Did you see the Super Bowl? Or the games in the second half of '06? -
It's not as much of a problem with the newer systems. I'm one of the fortunate ones who's never had any problems with mine (knock on wood)

QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 06:37 PM) Sports for the most part. The PS3 has MLB The Show, other than that it doesn't even matter that much to be honest.

Tank Johnson wasn't an impact player, Marcus Harrison is pretty much whatever Tank Johnson was. Urlacher is not done, he's being held back by the awfulness of Babich. The inconsistency of the DTs in front of him hasn't really helped either. Hester's been a complete non-factor on ST this year. -
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 06:04 PM) this is such a train wreck. just give Franken his bogus win and move on. hopefully he makes a complete ass out of himself and i'll have some fodder for my posts. This made me lol

Defense and special teams? For total defense, somehow they're ranked in the top 3rd, I'm not sure how, but this defense is a shell of its former self. And Hester has been non-existent on ST, Manning has been good, but not good enough to credit ST for the points. The offense is pathetic... they've managed to be mediocre, sometimes even average. Yes, that's overachieving. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) So, if the Bears win and Vikes also win, Vikes win the division... can a 10-6 Bears team make the playoffs under some wildcard scenario? I believe if both the Bucs and Cowboys lose.

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 04:11 PM) You do know Forte is only avging 80 yards a game, this offense isnt over achieving in the least bit, unless you think being ranked towards the bottom in every offensive category is considered over-achieving. "Only" 80 yards a game is comfortably over 1000 yards, over 1200 actually, so that's not really a good metric to use. Plus he also has 452 receiving yards. If you would've told me that this team would be anywhere near 16th in points scored at the start of the season I would've laughed in your face. -
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 03:52 PM) I used to feel this way, but I really have thought about it, and it doesn't make any sense to me. With MLB not setting a salary cap, why should the Yanks limit spending if they have it? They have created an empire, and instead of Yankee fans having to read about their team cutting millions in payroll, they outbid everyone for the best players on the market. On top of it, the farm system has gone back to producing for them. It's not the Yankees so much as it's the MLB. Every year, same s***, either the Yankees or the Red Sox (usually the Yankees) and sometimes the Mets sign the top free agents at a ridiculous price that's not close to the next-best player. The prices usually eliminate all but about 5 teams from the market. Probaly reason 1A why I like the NFL and NBA better. If you want to spend like a coke whore, there's consequences for it.

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 03:56 PM) How are they overachieving on offense, we had what an entire 48 yards of offense the first half. Besides the Detroit/Minny game our offense has been pretty brutal. There were 14 other games played this year. It's been the Matt Forte show. Without him we're talking about a historically bad offense. -
lol, this is getting on my f***ing nerves, it's like 3 years ago all over again. Teixeira isn't a 20 million a year type of player.

Before Mike Brown left with his calf injury I thought he was playing great. I think most of the problems on D stem from the bad pass rush. For most of the year, Tommie Harris has been garbage. Dusty was a stout NT, but not much of a pass rusher. Marcus Harrison's looked pretty good as a pass rusher, not sure about as a run stopper though b/c I haven't been watching him. Mark Anderson looks really average, Ogunleye's having a down year after his beast of an '07, Alex Brown has been very good. Bad pass rush is like cancer to a Cover 2 scheme. Babich's playcalling makes it worse. The offensive line isn't a complete disaster, after watching Chris Williams I'd say he was more of a question mark than a hole, and I like Josh Beekman. Garza and Kreutz aren't going anywhere whether we like it or not. Tait's been acceptable on the right side but it's time to look for his replacement. St. Clair has been awful, had not had the Chris Williams injury fiasco it wouldn't have been an issue. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 12:53 PM) The Bears are either really well coached or really lucky, and since I think most answers lie in the middle, I'll say it's a mix of both along with the fact that the NFL is just a mediocre league in terms of team quality. I know they LOOK like a dumb, poorly coached team, but they just aren't very talented AT ALL and aren't performing all that well to boot, yet they are somehow 9-6. It's pretty incredible, and hopefully next week is fun and they find a way to get into the playoffs. Regardless of what happens though, Angelo has a lot of work to do and will have a busy offseason because this team has holes at almost every position. They are still loaded with talent on defense, they are underachieving due to poor coaching. On offense they're overachieving, for that they have Matt Forte to thank. I only wish Forte had a legit backup (for whatever reason, they don't seem like Kevin Jones, although I do). -
I can't see the video at work.
