Owens didn't "prove he couldn't cut it" as a leadoff hitter, say what you want about him not being a MLB-caliber starter, but that version of events is just not accurate. Swisher was put in the leadoff spot because he was supposed to provide solid OBP since Owens got hurt... if that didn't happen then there is a good chance Carlos Quentin starts off the year in AAA.

Cabrera pretty much blows, I think it's safe to say at this point in his career we can just give up on any hope of him living up to his potential/expectations. I suppose it's ok if he's the 5th starter but don't be expecting any more than that.

lol, the word-parsing in the national media and the blogosphere is silly. Seriously it would be craziness if the governor of a state had never spoken to one of his senators. That's their job.
