  1. lol, that is awesome. If I can't get credit for an SUV, at the discounted rate mind you, why is it automatic that I would get credit for a smaller car?
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 04:54 PM) It seems that when the FBI called this morning to tell Blagojevic that he was going to be arrested, his response was "Is this a joke?" Punk'd!
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 02:48 PM) I thought the argument people were making is he's not a naturalized citizen because he lived in Indoenesia or something. I mean, this is all obviously BS, but I thought the goofs had at least admitted he was actually born in Hawaii. Admitting he was born in Hawaii would defeat their logic, because that would automatically make him a US citizen. There is more than one "theory" but the main one is that they're trying to say is that he was really born in Kenya.
  4. DukeNukeEm's post on another board: Im wondering how a bill like that even makes it to the governors desk? Does the mob just fax new legislation straight to Blago's office?
  5. QUOTE (Texsox @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 02:02 PM) Tell her it stands for Favorite Sorority Ass! It was earned in college, but the award was late in arriving. And keep telling your girlfriend it means Will Soon be Married. Player I'm thinking of getting a White Sox theme tattoo, where and what? You should get a Sox tattoo on each butt cheek, but also concentric circles around the hole so it looks like a target. That way when you get tickets to the Sox game you can sit in the outfield, and bend over, it'll be just like having one of those target signs. Also, if security comes, make a big scene, preferably by getting physical and/or violent with them.
  6. Well we need a #3 starter, I wonder if we can get Vazquez?
  7. You mean I'm not supposed to take bribes for this? What a bunch of f***ing bulls***! :lolhitting
  8. QUOTE (G&T @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 10:38 AM) Hawk was on the Score and said they tried to tell him everything that article suggests. Hawk said the Javy would go out and forget most of what he's told. I noticed he shook off AJ a lot. Contrast this to Mark Buehrle who would catch AJ's return throw, set his hands in his gloves, and start his windup immediately after seeing AJ's fingers.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 10:33 AM) Its the same thing the White Sox tried to get through to him. Cut down on the repertoire. He just doesn't feel comfortable doing it. He really tries to get cute, then falls behind in the count. When he doesn't do that he is unhittable. I would yell at the TV when he'd throw that curveball or slider and miss, and then do it again, suddenly he is 0-2, a fastball comes next, and it's a fly ball that may or may not be in the park.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 10:07 AM) No way man. Kathy Ireland effect. She's attractive until she starts to speak, then its nails on a chalkboard. Dude I would've f***ed a cardboard cutout when I was 13. I didn't care. I had a thing for her, and Cybill Shepherd. Oh and Melissa Joan Hart from Clarissa Explains It All.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 10:08 AM) Read further down the article. There's more. Lots more. I see all that, offering jobs, basically putting the Senate appointment up to the highest bidder, etc. I don't see the attempt to bribe Obama though besides trying to get his foot in the door. Which is funny since Obama probably wouldn't touch him with a 10-foot pole, and I can't recall any time during the campaign where he was seen with Blago in public either.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 10:01 AM) Holy s*** is Blago stupid. Get this... apparently, he is in trouble partially because he tried to bribe friggin Obama, about the Senate seat. Blago wanted to be HHS secretary, and offered certain things in exchange. Per the Trib. What idiot does that, while under investigation? I must have missed something because the only thing I saw was that Blagojevich offered to appoint a union-friendly candidate in exchange for a position in the Obama administration... sounds like Politics 101, not really illegal unless I neglected to read something else.
  13. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 09:55 AM) This is what he gets for being a Cubs fan. All together now... Na na na na, na na na na, HEY HEY HEY, GOOOODBYEEEEEEEEE!
  14. I wanted a piece of that when I was about 13. Then again, at that age you want a piece of everything.
  15. I'm thinking that seat is going to Caroline Kennedy.
  16. Obama better not pardon him when he winds up in the slammer either... Obama owes him nothing.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 10:56 PM) I liked the Quentin trade. They are 2 very different players. Quentin still hit the crap out of the ball in AAA in 2007. I get it. Every minor league position player KW acquires will be like Quentin. Every Cuban KW signs will be like Ramirez. Every minor league pitcher KW trades for will be like Floyd. No, none of that is my point. I don't think it's out of the question that Lillibridge bounces back after a down year after being bought low on. I think that's more likely than the idea that he suddenly faded into oblivion actually. He could be no more than a bench player, he could be a MLB starter, who knows. In any case we are ruining Heads's thread.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 10:44 PM) So his 2008 trainwreck should be ignored. OK. Just a hiccup. What did you think of Carlos Quentin's 2007 trainwreck? I'm curious. Obviously not that I think Lillibridge is going to be Carlos Quentin but the situations are pretty comparable.
  19. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) Their outfield is full (Scott-Jones-Markakis) if they acquire Freel with intent of playing him everyday (I doubt that's what they're doing) he's either gonna have to platoon with someone or play 2B/3B with one of Mora/Roberts going elsewhere, Freel has played plenty of infield in his career. The O's are still pretty high on Jones, as far as I know. I can't see them replacing him. But hell, if they don't want him, I'd LOVE to have him.
  20. Yeah, Lions fans would come to the games if their team wasn't so pathetic. They want to like football, but the team won't meet them halfway.
  21. QUOTE (1399 @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 05:25 PM) Thanks man. I appreciate it and really didnt mean to stir the pot but someone said it best earlier when they said there should be breathalizers on the puters. Yes I was hammered with the old lady last night so my angst over last seasons offensive troubles were a bit magnafied. So my appologies to those who were offended. Any more to this rumor? lol. I knew it. Your tone was completely different this morning.
  22. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) Why not? The Sox would be adding speed and buying low on a player who once had great potential. If he turns out to be a malcontent or truly unable to play, the the Sox can just release him. He might just fit in nicely batting 9th sometime depending upon who gets traded or signed. Would you rather have Patterson or Wise? Patterson's been in the majors a while now, and has played quite a bit, he just kind of is what he is. He won't be any different. My point in comparing him to Anderson was to say that if we're going to put a #9 hitter as our starting CF, assuming someone else is going to lead off, I don't see any urgency in replacing Anderson because that's pretty much what he is. And I definitely don't want someone like Patterson or Taveras leading off (I'd be fine with either as #9, but again, I don't see the point).
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 02:33 PM) Patterson's defense seems like it should be much better, but he doesn't always take the best angles. I'd much rather have Anderson. Wise is better than Patterson. As a fielder? No, definitely not. If Patterson's angles are bad, Wise's are awful.
