  1. Seriously though what the hell was the Senate thinking with that bill? Do they really think that s*** is gonna fly?
  2. If I am Biden's debate prep crew/strategists, I am telling him to keep his answers short and stay on the point. The longer he talks, the more gaffe-prone he is.
  3. Well bmags, I do know that Rex just posted a video, and then AHB posted an article about McCain's sagging polls in FL.
  4. Eh, you know, nothing in that article stuck out to me as blatantly false. The Sox do have their weaknesses.
  5. The team passed the biggest hurdle and exceeded my expectations on multiple levels. Even after those expectations were raised, and after I thought THE.TEAM.WAS.DEAD a week ago. Now I'm just here for the ride. Obviously I want them to win the World Series, but whatever happens from here is a bonus.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 08:11 AM) It's funny that she asked Biden the same question regarding supreme court cases and he wasn't phased. But you can keep making excuses for her. Biden sounded like... um like a guy with a law degree who was actually familiar with the subject matter. All of the questions that I've heard Palin asked (that she has blown horribly) have been perfectly fair, reasonable questions that I could see Obama, McCain, or Biden answering with relative ease, but Palin literally cannot stay on track once she deviates more than a few words away from a basic GOP talking point. It's like what would happen if *I* was being interviewed.

  8. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 08:09 PM) haha nice signature That time of year again.
  9. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 07:58 PM) I always considered middle class higher than that. I dont make much more, I guess Ive just always thought middle class was around 60k. Just a difference in opinion for that matter. Depends on the region. 30k isn't going to get you very far inmost of Maryland. Somewhere out west, maybe.
  10. That is another case of her trying to regurgitate basic conservative talking points against what should be a simple question, and can't. I'm actually kind of starting to feel bad for her, almost. Almost.
  11. Gallup dropped back down to a normalish margin (4 points)
  12. It's not all that though, just a novelty IMO. Internet in 480p = fail.
  13. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 09:51 AM) So a few questions with the Wii; 1 - Do you have to buy the Internet Channel to actually use the Internet? 2 - How much are points to buy? And how much would old N64 games such as Golden Eye cost? 1 - Yes, well, you have to buy the browser. 5 dollars IIRC 2 - 1 dollar buys 100 points so the browser I just mentioned would be 500 points, etc. I forget how much N64 games cost exactly, I want to say around 12 dollars. 8-bit games 5 dollars, SNES games 8 dollars, N64 games 12 dollars. It's been a while since I bought a game though.
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 09:41 AM) Not sure if someone pointed this out yet, but, think about this... in 2005, the Sox didn't have a single clinching moment IN CHICAGO - they clinched the division in DET, the ALDS in BOS, the ALCS at LAA, and the WS at HOU. So this was something we hadn't seen in Chicago in a long time. GO SOX! They mentioned that during the broadcast last night.
  15. I finally, after several months, got around to playing Assassin's Creed. It's a decent game, pretty underwhelming, but still enough to keep my interest.
  16. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 11:37 PM) 2006 NFC Championship game Bears vs Saints: Just sayin' Would have been almost my exact response if I was on last night.
  17. Jermaine Dye actually showed emotion? The only time I can ever recall seeing him smile was when he got the World Series MVP, because he kind of had to.
  18. The blackout was completely awesome.
  19. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 07:12 AM) I know there's a lot of Twinkee hate here, but Gardenhire is a class act. Completely agree.
  20. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 11:49 PM) I still haven't wrapped my head around what Danks actually did tonight. Incredible. The proper term to use is "PWNAGE" if that helps.
  21. I regret trying to mentally distance myself in preparation for what I thought would be a collapse right after the first loss in the Twins series. Actually, come to think of it, no I don't. Being pissed after a gutless, pathetic effort against the Twins just set me up to experience the thrill of yesterday. I don't regret anything. Sure, it was nerve-wracking, but that felt really good. Felt even better to have Danks make the Twins his b**** in proper retaliation for them celebrating in the s***dome like they had actually done something. Go home, b****es. See you next March.
  22. It was raining here last night and my satellite crapped out for about 2 or 3 innings, from the half-inning before Danks faced Mauer and Morneau for the second time until a few minutes before the top of the 8th.
  23. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 06:46 AM) Early in the game, maybe around the third inning, Dick Stockton said that the Cubs won the 1906 World Series. How hard is it to remember who won the only World Series in history featuring these two teams? Geez. lol, I thought I was crazy. I was sitting there for about 15 minutes going "uhh I could've SWORE the Sox beat the Cubs there." A Wikipedia search for "1906 world series" tells you that. Still, TBS >>>> Fox. f*** Fox.
  24. Well since it's the playoffs, it's time to dust off this old sig.
  25. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 10:54 PM) lol, tbs gun didnt have danks at 92-93, it was 94-95 occasionally I've seen Danks throw as high as 95 during the season, and Danks was as sharp as any other game this year tonight. If the gun was juicing Bobby, it wasn't by that much.
