QUOTE (mr_genius @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 12:53 PM) I saw it and wasn't impressed. I've seen Biden answer questions plenty of times. BTW, being 'better than Palin' isn't much of compliment. It's like arguing that a baseball player is good because "he has a better batting average than Nick Swisher". What that tells me is your guy can hit about .219 Infinitely better than .219 would be something like .325 fwiw.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 12:23 PM) The lesson there is going to then be..."If you're going to sleep with the 17 year old daughter of a bat-s*** crazy set of parents....don't get the girl pregnant." This is a lesson that Brian Urlacher wishes he'd learned before he met Tyna Robertson. Maybe they can do a condom commercial together?

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 10:22 AM) Well the Bears D used to be "elite" and teams would just struggle to put up points against them at all. And then when Mike Brown went down and you had Archuleta in at safety, and Chris Harris got traded (playing at a pro bowl level for Carolina now BTW), teams saw a weakness in the secondary and just decided, no we're not going to run against Tommie Harris and co., we'll just pass the ball al day long. And last season it worked, and McNabb has pretty decent success last night also. Philly really should have done better last night, better red zone conversion and they win last night. The pass defense lives and dies by the front 4. If they don't get pressure, they just throw slants all day or sit back and wait for a target. The defense doesn't adjust. Trading Chris Harris was stupid but only because they thought they were replacing him with Archuleta. Harris was a liability in coverage and never was as good with us as he's been with the Panthers (where he plays in a different system). He's always been a hard hitter and had a knack for forcing fumbles, though. -

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) The thing is, the Bears rate 28th against the pass. Other teams have worked out, the best way to the beat the Bears, is just to throw non-stop against them. Ever since Dallas beat the Bears with that strategy, their defense just hasn't been the same IMHO. So I don't know if they'd trade a CB right now. What strategy? The strategy of having an elite offense with multiple Pro Bowlers on it? I wonder why more teams haven't tried that, it seems to work. -
QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 08:14 AM) They do need to find them. While there is not a causation link, there is a strong correlation between these sorts of pranks and escalations to greater violence if not caught. To me, it's stooping down to their level (of militant Islam, not Muslims themselves), and making a moral equivalency, which I really hate. If a Muslim did this in a church it would be completely unacceptable... but not being Muslim doesn't excuse somebody from doing the same thing.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 07:53 AM) Maybe we should offer free shooting coures to gangbangers so that they can actually hit the other gangbangers they are aiming at instead of always nailing the 3 year old 2 houses over. Have you ever noticed the movie-style gangbanger way of shooting with a handgun? lol. Turning it to the side and randomly pulling the trigger without stopping to aim, you may as well be throwing the bullets with your eyes closed. It's no damn wonder some of them cause so much collateral damage, their shooting mechanics are horrible.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) Dont you love when you say stuff like this and then he goes and does the opposite? Yes. Now if he would stop doing retarded things, like running backwards and getting tackled on the 3. I'm losing my patience with him doing that. -
QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 12:08 AM) If we pound them something like 10-1, I'd be willing to let Sheffield have his brief moment. In that case, it might even be nice for the home fans. Not too often you get to see somebody hit their 500th. I wasn't aware of the time when Manny hit his 500th, and I had tickets to the next game at Camden Yards, so Manny hit a bomb in that one too. I thought that one was #500 and I was like hey, why no celebration? My friend said that was 501 dumbass, 500 was last night.

What's gotten into Kyle Orton today? He is accidentally making good throws. Also, Devin Hester cannot catch at all. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 07:44 PM) It has to do with the level of chaos and non-health of the general public there. Millions of people have starved, and much of the country is malnourished and not properly cared for. I assumed that's what he was talking about, but the way he said it it seemed like such a non-sequitor.

Not sure where exactly to put this but it's awesome. Saturday Night Live's parody of Palin's Couric interview. Man, SNL has been money on the political parodies this year.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 04:37 PM) No kidding, so many would rather jump on them when they lose than praise them when they win. Great game Mark!! Well, this team has done far more in the past 5 days to infuriate me than can be redeemed by one do-or-die game, which is a situation they put themselves in. I'm happy the season is not over, though. We're still alive. Now, beat the Tigers tomorrow and we're good.

If Gallup is any indication, McCain's ruse backfired pretty badly.

I'm still maintaining that all the coverage of Bristol's pregnancy was disgusting, but unless Palin's family makes this a private wedding, so is this.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 11:26 AM) it was a joke Heh. Note the time I made that post.

If he was a Ron Paul voter he'd be deeper in the purple part.

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 03:03 AM) Is it possible to be the Governor of Illinois without getting arrested? If this happens, Illinois will probably be the first state to ever have two consecutive governors sent to prison. One from each party, no less.

My brother (who still lives in Chicago) sent me a text a couple of hours ago. It said "Damn sox. I feel like a cubs fan now" I think that sums up my feelings pretty well actually.

So, just now I went to go pick up one of my 25 lb barbells sitting next to me to do a spontaneous set of overhead triceps exercises. Only problem was I forgot I'm sitting in an office chair that leans backwards so once I raised it over my head and behind me I almost fell out of my f***ing chair.

QUOTE (Baines3 @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 12:40 AM) The first one I would get rid of would be Javier Vazquez. I would get rid of Contreras also. I always like him but he is the end of the line. As for Swisher I would like to keep him for another year. Without some major deal we can't get rid of them both. Pitchers don't just grow on trees, even career .500 pitchers like Vazquez which is why he makes so much money.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 11:48 PM) Wow, everyone wants Junior gone most? I say those people are mad. He was actually one to step up this past week and probably month. Everyone else for the most part has blown minus OCab. I love Junior but at this stage in his career he adds nothing to the team besides awesomeness.

I don't know how to do attachments, but mine was about one tick higher up than yours and roughly in the same place left to right.

Very interesting.
