QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 12, 2016 -> 12:53 PM) I have no respect for a coach who rails the umps for freaking kid games. None. The umps are typically volunteering their time (yes some get paid) but growing up in our league an off-duty cop was our ump and he'd ump practically every game in our league except for when his son's team played (made me think of it cause I bumped into him today when dropping my daughter off at preschool). The message being sent to kids at that point is wrong, imo. One of the moms (the same asshole I was referring to in my earlier post) went all ballistic on the ump when her son was the catcher and he called the runner safe. I was trying to tell her look, I was standing right there, the kid dropped the ball, it was the correct call. When you didn't see me react that should have been a clue.

I remember watching an All-Star game where Barry Bonds was batting 2nd, and on the first pitch he showed bunt (but didn't). I rolled my eyes so hard... why would Barry effing Bonds (at his steroid peak) bunt? That makes NO sense.

WHY IS STAR WARS 8 NOT OUT YET? THIS IS BULLs***

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 12, 2016 -> 10:57 AM) The Nathan Drake collection for PS4 has all 3 previous games, I get wanting to play the other games, the series is pretty story driven though it's not necessary to understand Uncharted 4. I did not know this. These are playable on the PS4, with the trophies available and everything? QUOTE (chw42 @ May 12, 2016 -> 11:13 AM) The Uncharted collection is $20 at Best Buy right now, I think. PS3 version? I don't have one, the other option would be PS Now
-
I never owned a PS3 and I wanna play all the other Uncharted games first, f*** the way my head is wired

QUOTE (shipps @ May 12, 2016 -> 10:30 AM) You are eventually going to respond to yourself with some snarky comment. LOL That guy is an assh- wait a minute...

aye, tell me why I just clicked on this thread again thinking "Ezio Auditore" was someone who commented behind me? I am a dumbass.

My own personal feeling is that attending NFL games in person is overrated. It costs a metric f***ton of money first of all, and you have a harder time following everything that's going on than you do on TV. I am amused by people debating what did or didn't happen during a game and someone chimes in saying "well, I was at that game and..." as though it validates their experience. lol, no, the rest of us saw that play in HD in multiple angles with slow motion replays, you were sitting 350 feet away, stop it.

QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ May 12, 2016 -> 08:49 AM) I'd say I've watched 80% more games this year than last year because it's not a surprise to see the team play well this year. I also have a better cable system, so I can watch from my iPad or computer via my cable contract; I'd imagine I'm not alone in that. By the end of April I had already watched more Sox games than I had the entirety of last year. I used to be the kind of person who watched at least a part of 75% of the games when I could.

Assassin's Creed trailer. With the exception of the Kanye track (who thought this was a sound artistic choice?) this looks dope.
-
The team was unwatchable last year. It was a chore.

Ozzie ball was kind of a myth, they really just hit a lot of home runs after Frank got hurt.

Oh man, don't ever put Carlin and Maher in the same category again, that's just insulting to Carlin in so many ways. Carlin was definitely not an apologist for any form of oppression, though. If that's what you got from him then he went over your head. His thing was standing up to it and giving it the finger, not dismissing people or denying it was a thing.

Kids 10 and under, yes you try to win, but the winning isn't that important. I know that makes some Baby Boomers roll their eyes and go on "everybody gets a trophy" rants (uh, who gave the kids the trophies anyway?) but there's a reason for it. One of the games we won without a single hit, because the other team didn't have any good pitchers. That win didn't mean much because my kids didn't learn anything. I'd rather us lost the game, but see that they were hitting and fielding properly. I like to think I'm a pretty decent hitting instructor, I know several drills I have them do, and they work. Several times, I will show the kids one specific thing they're doing wrong and have them correct it. Suddenly they start hitting the ball (or if they were already hitting, hit much harder) and they look up at me like "you actually know what you're talking about, don't you?"

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 11, 2016 -> 03:35 PM) Dove into the stands on a foul ball and knocked his mouth against a seat. God that sounds painful.

Just now tuning into the game. What happened to Frazier?

My son has been playing for 5 years. Last fall was actually the first time I had any bad experience like that. That kid's mother was just a special kind of b****.

Like many people, I went to sleep when the score last night was 10-5, thinking it was in the bag. I woke up 5 seconds before the 7th run in the 8th was scored via home run. The bullpen was just gassed, I guess.

QUOTE (Tex @ May 11, 2016 -> 07:11 AM) I had about half my team not show up to practice last night. A trend that keeps getting worse. Our competitive season is over, but this is also a class that they earn credit for. Some of the kids made up really lame excuses which was basically just lying to me. So f*** it. No more leaving for the course at 3:15 if half won't show up. They can sit in the classroom until the end of the school day at 4:05 and be stuck in all that s***ty end of the day traffic. Yeah, it's good to be coach. I had this happen last fall. Long story but the parents didn't want to take their kids to practice, and one kids mom in particular didn't want to come to practice on Saturdays. She got mad because her son learned nothing. Lol how's that my fault? First of all I'm sorry I didn't turn your wack ass son into Bryce f***ing Harper, but secondly how am I supposed to teach him anything if you only are at practice an hour and 15 minutes per week, until the sun goes down?

Once again, Hillary Clinton can (and there's a good chance she will since she's not even campaigning anymore) lose every state from here to the end and still secure the nomination. Numbers.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 10, 2016 -> 10:48 PM) That seemed like a good response. Why didn't he want to play catch with your son? Just being a turd? He was low key saying my kid sucks, and also being selfish because my kid can't make an accurate throw every time, which is the whole point of pre game warmups, and which half the kids on the team have trouble doing it
-
Sale could still strike out batters if he wanted to.
-
Earlier today the kids I coach were doing warmup throws this kid says "I'm definitely not pairing with Richard" (my son) standing right in front of me. Then he turns around and says "coach, did you bring your glove so I can work on pitching?" I said "no my shoulder is sore. Not today." Then while he was still looking I threw a ball from the dugout to a kid in deep center field about 150 feet away (to those kids it may as well be a thousand feet). I mean... I was going to but you just insulted my son right in front of me, so f*** off little dude. That was super petty of me to do but I don't even feel bad. Lmao. I wasn't wrong though. Be a better teammate.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 10, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) The whole 45 first half stolen bases for scotty pods was pretty crazy. Probably around this time when a similar game happened where we were trailing or came back to tie. Pods got on base. Stole second. Bunt to third. Driven home. Sox win. It was just automatic with him on the base paths. I had way higher confidence on that team. But, I do feel really good late when Eaton comes up and knowing what comes behind him. I remember that the team was so fundamentally sound that Ozzie could really do no wrong.
