  1. QUOTE (Karko's Throat Skin @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) With Griffey, Thome and Konerko...we have 3 players capable of carrying a team. Either they are going to take turns, not do it at all or we might witness something special if all 3 get hot at once. Dye? Quentin??
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 03:13 PM) DFA griffey You should be tortured for putting these two words together.
  3. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 03:13 PM) I HATE FOX....so I am guessing the only people that get to watch the game are people in the Chicagoland area... I can't even watch it on mlb.tv. Seriously, f*** fox.
  4. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 01:04 PM) Trade PK for Figgins (Hopefully Texiera signs elswhere while im assuming Crede leaves via free agency) Give Thome that option to let him finish his career a White Sox as our DH. (wow how my mind has changed about him) Buyout Griffeys option and sign him to a 3 year deal. He can play CF one more year and he can replace Thome after the 2009 season as our DH. Bring up Fields finally! There is something wrong with virtually everything in this.
  5. QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 11:32 AM) Do you think he would have been the greatest without the drugs? He already was pretty close before he started juicing. With or without the drugs, he's a first ballot HOFer.
  6. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 12:31 PM) I'm screwed with the Yankees in the east. Me too. I f***ing hate Fox games. I ALWAYS get stuck with some east coast crap. If you want to nationally broadcast a game, how about actually doing it instead of taking 2 games in each time slot and shafting people that don't live close to their market?
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 10:08 PM) Watching Ken Griffey Jr. out there in a White Sox uniform was one of the most beautiful things I've seen in my life. Awesome debut. Also, it's nice to see the bullpen not give up any runs.
  8. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 10:25 PM) I'd walk Aviles right now. I want somebody to bean him and tell him to stop waving the bat around like an idiot.
  9. QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) Which is why *Kap, you, and I* would not vote for an out of town candidate. But while we may disagree on who would represent District 33 1/3 in Maine, it is the voters there that get to decide who is best to represent them not us. I see major cities all the time hiring department heads from outside the department and they come from all across the country. They are required to move to the city, but they can be hired from outside the area. Are you saying that some cities will not interview anyone from outside their town for those positions? Technically, in a way, voters can decide whatever they want as long as it doesn't conflict with the Constitution and even that isn't ironclad.
  10. He was 24 with the Mariners, then he switched to 30 in Cincy because that was his father's number. I don't know why he switched to 3.
  11. Both of these are awful ideas. I think the gas tax holiday is worse though.
  12. QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 04:22 PM) Good point. So do you care to take a guess why all of the links? Besides padding a post count and spamming the threads? I dunno. Overzealousness, I guess.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) We can't pay you a dollar when we only have 50 cents. Unfortunately I was thirsty so I bought a coke with the 50 cents. Dude, I had an extra Coke too. Your loss.
  14. QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 04:07 PM) Now tell me why this makes Obama a better President then McCain? Connect the dots for us. In this age of terrorism and anti-American senetiment all over the world, perhaps Obama is too thin skined to be President? He's going to see and hear a lot worse if he gets elected. Again - you're equating AHB's actions (and now thoughts, apparently) to Barack Obama. Have you seen Obama's responses (I doubt it)? If so, what about them gives you the impression that he's so thin-skinned?
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:05 PM) We will offer you salary arbitration. You're not walking without us getting picks. Ah, it's a business. I understand.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:02 PM) We are going to "explore the market". I am a legend, you'll regret this!
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:59 PM) Than he will get banned for making a post about high gas prices for no reason. I got baited by a mod into a mini-rant once about how I hate Giuliani (in a thread about him I said I don't like him, and he asked me why so I answered). Another time I got banned for being sarcastic. I think I've been banned from there 4 times for various reasons.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:01 PM) They paid for your contract, and you know how tight Gage is... Are you guys going to re-sign me again when they buy my option out?
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:21 PM) I hate to tell you this, but you have been traded to WSI for a poster to be named later... f***. I, uhh, have issues with the "management" there. This is gonna be an all-around fail.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 03:52 PM) There was a classic example back in 2005 of the Dems holding a hearing on the Iraq debacle in a windowless basement room reminiscent of the office I'm in as a grad student. Quite classic. At one point someone accidentally turned off the lights. At another someone knocked over one of the flags. At least they let the Republicans use the normal room. They do it so they can go make videos for their campaign and they can go "hey, look what I'm doing over here in Washington for our district!"
  21. You would be surprised how often that happens though, I mean people who stick around after hours and start ranting in front of the camera etc. with nobody else on the floor.
  22. QUOTE (JoeCredeYes @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:30 PM) Yeah, doesn't trust his fastball enough IMO. Tries to get fancy with the breaking stuff, falls behind, throws a "get me over" and gets crushed. I want to see more fastballs. Exactly... other hitters are aware of this too. His pitches are still pretty hard to hit, but after a while they become so predictable. If he uses both corners, he's an ace. If not, he's an average to below average pitcher.
  23. QUOTE (rangercal @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) just not awesome for the authentic $200 Swisher #30 Jersey I purchased in May PWNT! I got one with my own last name on it. I'm not getting traded.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) Are you obsessive about Nick or something? You keep inventing this straw man that I have yet to see on this board. I was about to post this about 75% verbatim.
