Incidents like this are useful to me for 2 things 1. You can tell who is actually concerned about excessive state power and accountability and who is just an asshole with a Gadsden flag as his Facebook profile picture who spends half of each day crying about Obama like a b****. 2. Identifying closet racists. They can't keep that door closed.

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 02:18 PM) I know I've said it before but I don't think I've ever seen "good" kyrie. I've seen him get hot from 3 and then ice cold in the same game. I've never really known how his reputation got so good to be a 2 time all-star even in the East. Obviously if Irving is your #3 best player you are in damn good shape but more just referencing how his reputation has never seemed to match for me. He was MVP of the All-Star game, but that's the perfect place for him. Flashy style of play against weak to non-existent defense, he will shine. In a real game, not so much.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 10:48 AM) About a rift between the Rose "camp" and the Bulls front office. Honestly, I thought this was basically common knowledge. Cowley just basically corroborated it. It makes sense that Jerry would not be happy about this stuff being discussed, because it doesn't paint his employees (to whom he is loyal) in the best light. But honestly I don't really see anything wrong with what the Bulls are doing here. The people around Rose are a pain in the ass, and Rose taking up so much of the salary cap to have not played almost 2 full season is frustrating, even if he also hasn't really done anything wrong.

Sox willing to deal Beckham in "right deal now"
lostfan replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Beckham is such a head case. Actually looked to be kind of ok for a couple of months then took a giant s*** the month before the trade deadline. Thanks guy. -
Insurance Costs: For doctors, health ins. workers
lostfan replied to greg775's topic in The Filibuster
Last year my insurance company took like 3 weeks to decide that yes, they were going to pay for a CT scan that I actually needed. Last week I had to go to the ER (I have a $125 deductible I think) where I had, among other things, a CT scan. Looking forward to getting that bill in the mail. If all I get is just a bill for $125 (that I haven't paid yet) then I'll be shocked, honestly. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 10:55 PM) Isn't it somewhat broken up because you had to take stuff to make it break down(cranberry)? It wasn't big enough to need to be broken up. Those people have like 8 mm stones and I pity them. I didn't take anything to break it down though, they gave me some pills that expanded my ureter to make it easier to pass.

I was so pissed (pun intended) when I saw how small my kidney stone was. This little thing barely bigger than a grain of sand caused me excruciating pain for 2 days.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 10:01 PM) If you are bringing in Love, you literally don't need one of Mirotic or Gibson. The guy is going to play 40 minutes a night. The need for a second scorer also is gone. How the trade isn't a positive is beyond me. Hemming and hawing about "depth" which was useless come playoff time in 2011 and 2012. "But the Spurs!" they say. Like you can just BE the Spurs. I want the Bears to be the Patriots too.
-
Man, outside of this board (where everyone for the most part sees the forest and the trees) it's funny how many Bulls fans hated this trade - probably something like 80%. So much whining about how the Bulls are stupid to give up so many assets. But these are mostly the same people bemoaning another "Plan B" offseason because our conservative front office can't ever close deals and is too risk-averse/overvalues its assets to pull off any significant deals. Complaining about either one of these things is ok, but both? That just makes you look like a f***ing idiot.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 07:45 PM) For me, his starts are going to be must follow stuff and I totally agree with this. Wading through the game logs on Future Sox is fun, but when you have a top 10 in all of MLB shiny new prospect it behooves us to treat him a little differently and with more flair. It's been a long, long time since we had a prospect with this much hype in the system. Even Sale was kinda a novelty that just came out of nowhere, Rodon has been hyped for the last two years and he's now a Sox. edit: Last one I could think of was Chris Young, holy s*** he never panned out. I remember all the butt hurt from the Sox trading Young instead of Anderson, but Young is a nothing

A spam bot starred an old tweet of mine, it said "I would rather have a dentist sneeze in my mouth than to watch ?Nate Robinson defend a pick and roll"

Woke up in the middle of the night feeling pain in my abdominal area, at first I thought it was gas, then maybe a pulled muscle. But there was no position I could get comfortable in and the pain got worse until it started feeling like a knife, so I had my wife take me to the ER. After a few hours of agony and a CT scan, turns out I have a kidney stone, this is awesome.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 07:32 PM) He will. Remember 2011, Thibs used all of Thomas boozer Noah Gibson and asik, and Keith cj rose brewer deng and Korver. He will play you if he trusts you. Last year was by far our thinnest and weakest. Yeah, he's gotta be pretty happy with this roster right now. He sounds excited about he depth. I just hope he doesn't get so stubborn like he did last year in the playoffs where there's obvious and critical needs for scoring, just need one basket, and Dunleavy sits on the bench.
-
DJ was getting skullf***ed in the playoffs by Wall and Beal. As bad as Robinson was the year before.
-
Brooks is going to sign. He will have a decent year, raising his value to other teams, then the Bulls will let him go to use the cap space elsewhere because he signed with someone for 3-4 million a year, Bulls fans will get really mad about how stupid it was while they quietly replace him with another player exactly like him for the minimum. Then the cycle starts over. Wash, rinse, repeat.
-
Lin, Kobe, and Boozer on the same team, we should start calling them the Ole' Lakers.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 04:26 PM) From today's press conference, seriously wondering if Thibs is thinking about Niko at the 3 in some lineups. Someone asked him if he was gonna have a Noah-Gasol-Gibson lineup in the frontcourt and he said no, you could do that in the 90s but not now. Neither Gasol nor Gibson could defend the 3 so that'd leave Mirotic, if he has the quickness to defend perimeter players - which I have no idea if he can.

295 dead aboard Malaysian Airlines shot down over Ukraine.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 05:06 PM) CNN reporting that the black boxes are still in Ukraine, after once reporting they were in Russia. Interesting that Putin says that Ukraine is essentially at fault since it happened over their countryside - I guess that means that he is acknowledging the Donetsk region as part of Ukraine? Ha. My money would still say that this was an error, separatists that either didn't know what they were firing at or some rogue element. I can't imagine any one of the sides being stupid enough to intentionally shoot the plane down. The Russian separatists are about the equivalent of Bundy militia supporter types that we have here. Russia apparently thought it was a swell idea to let these unaccountable tools to have advanced weapons... reason #644,782 why arming militias is a s***ty idea -
Gasol is a really good passer, so was Boozer though. Offensively Boozer wasn't really a big problem, it's just he had a hard time against length in the low post, and if that length was athletic, forget it (Bosh). And also Boozer had NO lift for a guy who is 6'9" and damn near 300 lbs of muscle, I swear he got rejected at the rim more than anyone else in the league. Gasol has better moves than Boozer though and gets to the line more. People are probably gonna be frustrated when they see him shooting (like when Boozer popped that high 15 footer) but they shouldn't be.

It's funny, b/c while not getting Melo was obviously a big disappointment, the Bulls are still in pretty decent shape for 2014-15 and with some luck might actually be better than that, but Bulls fans are really down on it (they're pretty much down on everything, all the time since the 2011 season). If this exact same roster was the Knicks, Knicks fans would be acting like they're already in the Finals, because Knicks fans are the complete opposite of Bulls fans. Melo going back to the Knicks was like a major coup, as if the team he went back to didn't just miss the playoffs in a historically bad conference WITH him.

Rodon is really gonna make us wait until the last minute isn't he?

If Philly's GM actually accepts Stoudamire's contract in a trade he should be dragged out into the streets of Philadelphia and summarily executed.

"Reinsdorf uses Bulls revenue to fund the Sox!"
lostfan replied to lostfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Sox seem to be doing fine financially, but they're nowhere close to their maximum potential.
