QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 10:12 AM) Nope. He will use class warfare and subtle racism instead. Come on now with that, for real

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 10:08 AM) What are you basing that on? Electoral votes. Obama's trying to reshape the electoral map, as it stands now, the "conventional" swing states are leaning Republican. I think FL is a lost cause, he will probably get PA back, and Ohio is leaning McCain but will probably go back his way. But I think Obama's going to make a run at MO, CO, NV, NM, VA, and maybe even GA. All of those are leaning McCain right now.

CQ obviously although JD certainly held his own and I didn't realize their stats were so close together. Gavin and Danks were good, but I've got to go with Contreras... WOW. He's turned it around quite nicely.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 08:38 AM) I assume you must mean as a total package, not just defensively. Because Uribe is definitely a better DEFENSIVE shortstop than O-Cab. Not much question in my mind. There really isn't a question. I make no secret of being a Uribe basher, but he is better in the field hands down.

Rumor: Hillary Clinton to Concede Dem Nomination

Thunderously arrogant. ROFL. Nice. -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 11:53 PM) Try 10 points higher. 2 weeks ago we were talking about a player who was batting under .200 and some were saying he had no business in the majors. I don't recall anybody actually saying that (the rational posters anyway). Mostly everyone was saying that he needed consistent ABs in AAA, though. I don't think too many people expected him to get this hot this fast.

I only watched the first 5 minutes, it didn't seem too bad to me.

The key to getting more people expanded health care is controlling the ridiculous rising costs, if that's not the central concern, I'm not really interested in the debate.

Well as that quote goes, all you have to do is tell people they're being attacked and you can easily motivate them that way.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:41 PM) i hate obama speeches... They are just like Edwards speeches except with a quasi-MLK inflection.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) she's as much of an assclown as here RBC supporters on Saturday. Speaking of her supporters - when she mentions his name in a speech, there is loud booing, and when he mentioned her name just now, they gave strong applause. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Do not question McCain-o-tron3000. I don't think mr. genius likes McCain

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) What if I start a write-in campaign for Carlos Quentin? Unfortunately, he's not old enough. Even worse, he would have to stop playing for the Sox (or not, actually that'd be pretty awesome wouldn't it?) Good idea though.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:18 PM) His speech? It was on live TV just a few moments ago. His one-liners were painful to watch. No, the link to the stat. It helped me out with an argument on another board (I was saying that the "most liberal voting record in the Senate" was a useless stat).
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:12 PM) If you just watched McCain's speech and think he has a chance then pass me what you're smoking. Obama will mop him up in the debates. McCain's voting record is 95% in agreement with George Bush. That's not going to fly with Americans. Do you have a link for that?

Since we are all Sox fans, can we sing "na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey hey hey, GOODBYE?

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:00 PM) In my eyes you are I would be the most disloyal liberal ever.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 06:43 PM) Us sane conservatives and you whacky liberals can never quite understand each other lol, I'm not a wacky liberal, people assume that, but i'm not.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 06:26 PM) well duh, they are a territory of the U.S. Any non-nitwit knows that. I was just saying if they went to one of the U.S. Territories like Puerto Rico. Oh my bad, I thought you were putting Puerto Rico in the category of the DR or what have you.

Curious to hear SS2K5's thoughts on this. http://www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/story/39611.html

QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 05:51 PM) A competent American President should have been able to spin this guy into the ground long ago. Mahmoud's an embarrassment. Iran thrives off the stereotypical "Great Satan" image. It gives validity to the whole BS rheotoric.
-
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 05:55 PM) So, if you go the third country route, you are a free agent, while if you go straight to America or a place Puerto Rico, you are a draft eligible player? Puerto Ricans are US citizens

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) I've never seen so much venom towards the Clintons, even from the right wing. At first, there wasn't.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 05:02 PM) While they certainly have their supporters, at what point were they really considered "Gods" in liberal circles? When Bill ran for election, he did so as a "New democrat" and sort of governed that way. His health care signature plan never got off the ground. His big domestic accomplishments were things like welfare reform and balancing the budget. He was so divisive by the time he was done that Gore couldn't campaign with him, and couldn't convincingly win the election outside the margin of error in 2000 despite a seemingly strong economy and period of peace. Hillary managed to win a senate seat in NY, but then voted for the war. What issue or action have they done that would make them "Gods" in "li Just the name recognition. Bill was still wildly popular among Democrats, no doubt about that. Hillary pretty much cruised through the early stages of the campaign almost on that alone. Honestly, as far as her relative fall from grace, she really can't blame anybody but herself (and maybe Bill, who was a loose cannon for a good part of the campaign).
