QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:13 PM) Ugh, I hope PK wasn't expecting a 3-2 fastball. The advanced scouting has got to say that Sox hitters look 3-2 fastball 100 pct of the time. Looked like he was. The pitch was low and out of the zone but Paulie can hit that. He got fooled. But if I'm Lowe I want no part of a 3-2 fastball to somebody like Konerko.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:10 PM) Not really, I think first option would be Swisher in LF, and Anderson in CF. You'd have to think Ozzie would be tempted to play Owens. This is after all the same manager that thought Erstad was a starting CF.

Quentin again proving why he is a sexy manbeast.
-
Johjima got nailed in the thigh, that has to hurt.

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:59 PM) I am of the minority, I guess, but I'd rather have Javy keep pitching. I don't like Dotel in this situation. If your middle reliever can't be trusted to get one guy out you are in pretty bad shape. Dotel has been iffy but he really isn't THAT bad.
-
Oh Javy. I hope you just needed to get that out of your system.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:49 PM) Amazing D by that kid. I refuse to call Anderson "the kid" because I am only a month older than him. lol. Him, Fields, Quentin are all in that age range.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:50 PM) No kidding, he made it look like he should have actually had that. Kind of like that fly ball he was camped under just now. Most other CFs are still running when the ball gets there.
-
Come on Javy, preserve your QS.
-
Jesus, you figure Anderson already plays shallow to begin with, and he was shaded slightly to left. Runs all the way to the warning track and misses the catch by about 2 inches.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:24 PM) When did Dye decide to become not as bad to watch? Well for the sake of balance, Dye did have a pretty bad 3-pitch strikeout earlier. Just to make sure all is well in the world.
-
Somehow that actually got to be a triple too, no errors there.

QUOTE (YASNY @ May 10, 2008 -> 09:55 PM) I liked the play. Good agressive baserunning. The odds are the tag will be attempted at third with an accurate throw. The throw was offline a bit and that worked to the Mariners advantage. Yeah I saw the replay, it was actually heads up. If it was somebody like CQ or Anderson it wouldn't have been that close.
-
Oh Joe wtf were you doing there. At least Swisher got from 1st to 3rd though.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2008 -> 09:38 PM) I was kidding on Anderson's homer being cheap. You don't see many no doubters to center field here. Funny moment there with Anderson trash talking CQ that his homer went farther. Oh I knew you were joking, I was going to write that but I was trying to hurry the post when I saw CQ hit the HR and I forgot.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2008 -> 09:30 PM) It was cheap, barely went out. I just saw the replay. It barely got out but that was a bomb to dead center. Easily 410 feet. HOLY s*** CQ trade him for Junior right now
-
God dammit I went upstairs to get food and missed BA's homer.
-
That was almost a really nice play by Valentin, that was just a rocket though.
-
That was a pretty nice pitch to K Quentin.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2008 -> 04:38 PM) If Anderson doesn't get 300 AB's by giving those guys an off day every 10 days or so...then Anderson's going to get 300 at bats when Thome, Konerko, or Dye finally gets hut. It's really crazy to be pushing these guys so hard right now. Thome hasn't had an off day in a couple weeks and this is the hardest part of our schedule, Konerko and Dye are already dealing with some aches and pains. Word. Anderson should be playing at least 2-3 times a week, and Swisher is a versatile enough player to allow that to happen. This is basically what I was getting at in the thread I started not too long ago.

lol I'm pretty sure he meant to say 47 but that's pretty funny.

Now hitting .343 and 6/6 stolen bases [in 35 ABs]

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 10, 2008 -> 02:31 PM) Podsednik's a s***ty player, but I thank him dearly for his contributions to the team in 2005. Anyone that says they don't doesn't remember 2005 well enough or Pods pissed in their Cheerios. I still thought it was a triple off of his bat, so when that ball cleared the fence, I freaked the f*** out. I feel the same about Juan Uribe. He blows hard, but he was lights-out at SS down the stretch and I'm not sure if we win without him. -
QUOTE (knightni @ May 10, 2008 -> 02:04 AM) What you're a little person or something? Can you get in free? I wish. heh. Naw, my brother was buying my family tickets so we'd all go on his birthday (July 3). But he wasn't sure if my son needed a ticket or not.

QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ May 9, 2008 -> 04:00 PM) But he recently helped beat the Cubs and also sleeps with Lisa Durgan. You know, when you look at the guy's wife, it's no damn wonder he spent so much time on the DL with all those groin injuries. It's TOTALLY understandable. -
QUOTE (YASNY @ May 9, 2008 -> 11:17 PM) Those words weren't thrown by me. I commend the act, not the players. I assume you meant to say "condemn." Otherwise you just said the exact opposite of what I think you were trying to say, lol
