  1. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 7, 2008 -> 10:11 AM) Conference call is pushing FL and MI, "white electability", and that a win in WV shows she is strong in states that havent gone democratic in recent years. Wait, didnt the Clintons say "red states" dont matter? hmmm...... lol. I guess the entire west and south of this country except for Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas aren't relevant. Didn't she think before she spoke on that one?
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2008 -> 08:55 AM) Yeah, I think there is going to be some post editing going on in that thread! I don't recall posting in that thread... but I did save a lot of hating for Contreras and if he served me up a plate of crow I would eat it happily.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 7, 2008 -> 09:05 AM) Yes. In January. Always wanted to visit D.C. and what better opportunity. It's nice the first couple of times you see it and it's definitely worth a visit. But now that I've lived in the area for a while I have to say it's really overrated and underwhelming as big cities go.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2008 -> 07:41 AM) The position change doesn't bother me as the methodology behind it. Having your little proxy attack dogs dig up quotes from 16 years ago is a page straight out of the James Carville/Karl Rove playbook. It tells me that for all of the "change" that is being talked about, we are already seeing the Obama camp desend into "more of the same". Obama's "camp" is not the same thing as Obama's "supporters." Much like McCain and the slimeballs supporting him who will undoubtedly come out of the woodwork in the next few months with their dirty tactics, Obama really has no control over the rank and file Democrats. He can "call off the dogs" like McCain does (or tries to do) but whether or not they do isn't really up to him. I can't think of any instances where anyone in Obama's camp who directly speaks for him has dug up some old video clip or leaked it to the Druge report. At least not on something trivial (or outright false and blatantly distorted) and not directly related to policy or domestic issues.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2008 -> 07:21 AM) LOL. I didn't watch the exchange but if the Hammond and Gary mayors were talking to each other about corruption, that is freaking hilarious! Throw in East Chicago and you have the 3 most corrupt cities in Indiana. They probably were both vote fixing, because that crap happens all of the time there. In a nutshell this is what was happening. It was mostly the mayor in Hammond though. The mayor of Gary was like "we're trying to count the votes so just hold on" and the Hammond mayor was like "but what's taking so long, it's a computer" even though the Gary mayor had to repeat himself like 5 times. Also the Hammond mayor was trying to make it sound like he respected all of the county authorities and that he wasn't blatantly trying to accuse them of doing something below board. He said several times how Hammond voted for Hillary and he can personally attest to that and he was acting like they were trying to hide it or something. Then the rest of the results came in, the votes swung back Hillary's way, and he looked silly.
  6. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 7, 2008 -> 01:02 AM) The hammond mayor comes off looking like a real ass to me. Like he was trying to justify buying a ticket to the Titanic when he was warned of the outcome.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 7, 2008 -> 12:00 AM) What a dumb segment they just had on CNN...only to end in the reporting numbers to jump from 56 to 98 percent reporting. lol. it was basically what Clay was saying. "Wait and you will find out in a few minutes."
  8. Last chunk in, Obama takes Lake County 55-45 but Pander Bear hangs on to the 2% margin.
  9. Rudy Clay (mayor of Gary) sounds like he's going to stab Wolf Blitzer after being asked the same question like 4 times, lol.
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 6, 2008 -> 11:48 PM) Contrary to what a lot of people seem to think, I think an Obama/Clinton ticket would be a disaster. Obama certainly can win, but he should distance himself from Hillary. I agree. Basically the not-so-subliminal message in his campaign is "let's just get the hell away from these old-school politicians." He has enough support without her and really doesn't have that much to gain by riding her coattails.
  11. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 6, 2008 -> 11:22 PM) "THey are not in Bagdad" *tanks roll through in the background* I LOVED THAT GUY! lol... I was there at the time and watching it on TV, it was hilarious to me. What was even funnier is that they didn't trust us because they thought we were spewing propaganda, and a lot of them actually believed him and they were stunned when they actually saw an American tank riding down the street in front of them.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 6, 2008 -> 11:21 PM) Too bad Saddam's PR guy died, he'd do great with the Clinton campaign right about now. Mohammad Saeed al-Sahaf. I think he's still alive, last I heard he was living in Qatar.
  13. Does anybody remember when Giuliani was fading a few months back? When he sounded positively delusional about his prospects of winning? That's what Kiki McLean sounds like right now.
  14. Ok seriously hearing Hillary's supporters and strategists right now is kind of unbearable. Even if she squeaks by in IN tonight and avoids the knockout blow there is virtually nothing positive happened for her tonight at all. It's over. For real. Trying to spin it now just makes them look silly.
  15. Where's BearSox? He can take credit for being right about something.
  16. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 6, 2008 -> 11:00 PM) s*** dude. f*** the K/BB when his whip is under 1! Heh... so true. That is a statistical anomaly if I ever saw one though.
  17. I did not see one person call or even hint at calling you a racist.
  18. QUOTE (Carlo Paz @ May 6, 2008 -> 10:50 PM) Well, Anderson is faster than Swisher but that's not really why he's a better CF. He gets better jumps on all the fly balls so he is either camped under the difficult ones or he's making a running grab on something other CFs have to dive for. So because he isn't flashy about it he never makes highlight reels. Right, thanks. You actually said what I meant. By quicker I didn't mean faster, I meant better jumps and reads (quicker to the ball). And he is faster! Meaning his range exceeds that of Swisher's by at least a couple of steps... in which case what you said is true.
  19. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 6, 2008 -> 10:45 PM) except for the fact that I've been saying for the past few days that firing walker would be an absolutely knee-jerk reaction and would be ridiculous. but yeah, the similarities are there. making this too easy. Now, did I say you haven't been campaigning against having Walker fired? No. You drew that conclusion on your own. But it's pretty obvious to anyone (especially those who want Walker fired) why you said it. The sarcasm just about says it all. There's really no need for any of this, it's a dumb argument.
  20. QUOTE (Carlo Paz @ May 6, 2008 -> 10:37 PM) Maybe, maybe not (Anderson is at least 2 steps quicker than Swisher). Well, Anderson is faster than Swisher but that's not really why he's a better CF. He gets better jumps on all the fly balls so he is either camped under the difficult ones or he's making a running grab on something other CFs have to dive for. So because he isn't flashy about it he never makes highlight reels. I think he would've gotten to that ball but it's a moot point considering I'm all into baseball superstitions and whatnot.
  21. I was more optimistic about Floyd (and Danks) than most. But no damn where THIS optimistic. Holy s***.
  22. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 6, 2008 -> 10:34 PM) We only had 11 hits tonight, Walker's gotta be on the way out the door. This kind of reminds me of a guy I know on another board who waited until 3/4 of the season was over so McCarthy's ERA finally eclipsed that of Danks, and he could be justified in ripping KW for making that trade. But not a peep before that.
  23. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 6, 2008 -> 10:32 PM) I blame the f***ing Twins announcers on my MLB extra innings package! They literally said the phrase "no hitter" every 2 seconds! Yeah they were trying hard to jinx it. But the ESPN bonus coverage had it plastered all over the screen. But they do that for everybody's no-nos, I remember them doing it for Wang last year.
  24. It's still mathematically possible for Obama to win. Just unlikely.
