  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 10:59 PM) What great at bats by Anderson. He looks like a ballplayer or at least did tonight. If Swish doesn't start hitting better ...? Swish has never been a hitter for a high average.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 10:40 PM) He was a top talent, and heralded prospect, he's playing the way he was predicted to play. IM happy AZ gave up on him. He could be a middle of the order hitter on this team for a long time. I wouldn't say they gave up on him, he just got crowded out of a job.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 09:41 PM) Take a look at the SS on this team now. Do we really want to lock that up for a long time. Just hope Cabrera doesnt mess up enough to ruin his Elias rankings for next year. Ramirez should be down in AAA playing SS everyday. Cabrera is ridiculously overrated. Is this how he was as an everyday player? I know it's only been a month, but damn. He just isn't that good defensively.
  4. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 09:38 PM) Brian Anderson nice job kid. You need to get some more ABs as the 4th OF, and not the 5th. Word. I like Alexei Ramirez and his ceiling, but his time is not now. edit: caveat to this, I would honestly have no problems with him starting over Uribe right now if it meant more ABs for Ramirez.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) hopefully that will give BA the confidence he so needs. He had it... then he lost it along with his momentum. Hopefully Ozzie has him back out there tomorrow getting his time in. He had a 0-2 count that he worked until he got a pitch he saw, if it was 2006 he would've panicked and flailed wildly at anything near the zone.
  6. QUOTE (max power @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 09:30 PM) Brian Anderson to win the game? Why, actually... Haha, it's like he heard me talking out loud. "Come on Brian, don't do too much, all you need is a soft liner to the OF, bloop it in, or a sharp grounder through the hole"
  7. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) i cant believe some people were defending Uribe earlier. "Some people" = Dick Allen. Why does Uribe get used as a defensive replacement and not Anderson btw?
  8. Remember last year when everybody thought our bullpen was all that and David Aardsma was a pimp? Then, the calendar turned to May and the disaster began.
  9. QUOTE (Want2Repeat @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 09:49 PM) Awesome. I can't be expected to drink, b**** about the Sox and capitalize properly. Similarly, the Sox, can't ever be expected to take advantage of obvious scoring situations. Way to swing at first pitches and continue GIDP tendencies. This is just horrible to watch.
  10. QUOTE (Want2Repeat @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) 2 buts in one sentence, is that legal? I am blame the bullpen for my bad english. I blame Juan Uribe for your bad English and also the fact that you didn't capitalize English.
  11. When chanting "Booooooooooooooone" emphasize the first 2 letters.
  12. Haha yeah this is the most boring thread ever. I haven't seen a 1-2-3 DP in a really long time.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 07:13 PM) Sounded good but under neath it. Yeah, I heard the loud crack, but it was too high off the bat. I was surprised the ball traveled that far, it was like 398 feet.
  14. Anderson missed a HR by about a foot and a half there.
  15. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 02:00 PM) Obama's CAMP. David Plouffe is Barack Obama's campaign manager. Imagine McCain's campaign guy saying "the vast, vast majority of voters who would not vote for John McCain in November based on race are probably firmly in Obama's camp already." That would be a true statement and I wouldn't really care to be honest.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) Who pays when the President takes Air Force 1 to a campaign stop? That's different - he's actually the president. But doesn't he have campaign funds too? I don't know the answer to that specific question though.
  17. QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) I never know how the weather is seeing as I live a good 1400 miles from the Chicago area. I hope it can clear up for the game. I once went to a game where it rained all day except for while the game was going. That was strange. Anyway, I sure hope we can come out swinging. A couple early runs would make me extremely happy. The only guys that scare me at all in the O's lineup are Roberts and Markakis, who even DHs for them? Aubrey Huff. And he sucks.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 08:00 PM) It also does bother me when on occasion a candidate will use federal resources to move himself/herself around for the campaign, where the federal government is paying for the travel or security or arrangements for one campaign but not the other, but I'm honestly not sure how common that is. I think that's illegal actually.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 12:26 PM) Wow, I seem to remember half a season spent chanting "re-sign Buehrle" and it being almost inevitable that he was going to be dealt. Must have been another Mark Buehrle who played for the Chicago White Sox. They only started chanting re-sign Buehrle after it was found out they had negotiations going on for a reasonable contract and that the Barry Zito signing actually didn't ruin Buehrle's chances of staying with the Sox. And the hand-wringing, panic, and conspiracy theories coming from the fanbase at the time were both hilarious and pathetic, but in the end, Buehrle stayed with the team because he wanted to, and they found a way to make it happen. He sacrificed some of his market value but it was a win-win situation all around. Besides, these situations are not at all comparable. -As good as Crede is sometimes he's got nowhere the level of established consistency Buehrle's had for most of his career -Buehrle doesn't have lingering back problems. -The Sox did not have a potential-packed prospect immediately ready to replace Buehrle and adjust rapidly to the MLB level, with MLB time to boot (Gio notwithstanding).
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 10:50 AM) For local offices, that can sometimes work quite well - especially since there is far less party involvement at those levels. Once you start getting to county, and then state level offices, you pretty much have to align with a party. That's why I'm not overly concerned with the specifics of somebody's voting record. In order to maintain political cred they pretty much have to vote in lock step with the party. So too often that's used to distort and polarize.
  21. I was confused at first about the socialists honoring Hitler thing because they are basically completely opposite ideologies, I read the article and it said National Socialist which isn't the same thing (basically, Nazi). I guess people hear "socialist" without hearing the "national" in front of it and they assume it means left-wing when it actually means the opposite.
  22. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 12:20 AM) I'm not sure if this is anti either one, or pro either one, but thought it was kinda funny. Maybe you all could use a laugh. All 3 of you. (some NSFW language) That was hilarious.
