  1. Well, since we're calling people out for hypocrisy, is someone going to make it easier for people who proudly squawk about how the war is good for the country while they're trashing/talking down people who think/thought it was a terrible idea to join the military if they don't already (and so many don't)? Then not only could they put their money where their mouth is, they'd be doing something to support the troops besides sending care packages, making posts on the internet, or showing up at anti-war rallies. Just saying. Exact same principle.
  2. QUOTE (DonnyDevito @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:47 PM) Floyd looked confident and esteemed in his post game conference. philadelhpia is the city of brotherly hate and they really treated him bad over there. i think Gavin likes having this opportunity to prove himself and he's going to take full advantage of it. lol, Chicago is not ANY better, Philly is just a smaller version of us. Ask Rex Grossman.
  3. QUOTE (whitesox1976 @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:25 PM) I doubt if Jenks will come in with a 7 run lead, I would guess Mac Dougal. A terrific bottom of the 8th. GO SOX!! Well, here he is.
  4. Can't blame Verlander for letting those earned runs up. That turd lays squarely in Leyland's lap.
  5. That was a pretty questionable decision risking leaving Verlander out there to die against Dye (no pun intended).
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) Yeah, Oz handled that just right - keep him in with the no hitter, but he's over 100 pitches, so as soon as he cracks, take him out. I think it was just obligatory... even if he had to go to 120 pitches to get it.
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 01:48 PM) yeah because everyone knows saying it really affects the outcome It's just an old tradition, something you don't do. edit: Buehrle last year didn't seem to care too much though
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) He started this half inning by saying: "One run on two hits and no errors for our Sox, and no runs, no hits, no errors for the Tigers". That's fine actually, you just can't go and blurt it out though. I have heard him do that before too.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 01:41 PM) Now you did it Hawk.........why did he have to say that? Did he just do another taboo?
  10. If Floyd keeps up his... uhh... pace... I think you have to leave him in regardless of his pitch count.
  11. Floyd's always had the "stuff" but it's just a case of getting him to realize it.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) Was swish hurt or something? I think he just needed a breather, had some minor hip flexor issues, and Anderson seems capable of filling in so far.
  13. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 11:11 PM) OK, I apologize for getting my real estate terms twisted there, and thanks for the correction Seriously I'm going to have to use that though, that was good.
  14. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 11:08 PM) I hope they charge Clete Thomas rent for playing in US Celullar, he owns it so far You mean mortgage payments, why would you pay rent on something you own?
  15. QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 09:59 PM) We're gonna comeback against Todd Jones in the bottom of the 9th. I am calling it!!!! Crede double Anderson single Uribe HR ...let's see.
  16. QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) I wouldn't care I guess if one was rested, but Ozzie took 2 of the best offensive players out and made the bottom of the order totally useless. More useless than the middle of the order?
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) Which inning was this posted for? There's been three miserable innings. At least Cabrera just had his second longest hit of the year...too bad it was right at Grilli. Against Jason Grilli. Hara-kiri ftw.
  18. Hey thanks for making me miss that entire inning Gameday.
  19. Even the Tiger fans thought that was BS http://motownsports.com/forums/showthread....715&page=11
  20. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 09:56 PM) I know all the cons to it, but our hitters really need to go out their and kick a pitchers ass when he get plunked. The amount of time we get hit without any retaliation by hitters or pitchers is going to get around and we are just going to keep getting beat up. I would rather do it like the Twins did to us last year, and just open a can of whoopass on the scoreboard.
  21. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) Deliver us Crede, Anderson, Uribe, Hall and Quentin. We're good, thanks.
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 08:24 PM) The extension was a mistake. I still don't see Jose finishing the season with us....at least not on the active roster. At the time, it seemed like such good news didn't it? Now it makes me cringe. I really don't like baseball's guaranteed contracts but they're here to stay.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) Anyone with gameday that can report what Jose's velocity is? Low 90s
